i know.
i went in SPECIFICALLY looking for a shoulder tote. but there weren't any i really liked. but the sa made a good point: most over the shoulder bags usually end up at your elbow.
my other bag was the scribble tote (MUCH smaller handle- primarily a hand bag). but i'm THRILLED with this one. worked out much better than i thought it would have.
sometimes what you think you want isn't really it.

Personally for me, the medium carryall fits fine on my shoulder which is a bonus for me and I wouldn't say I'm totally skinny. I will probably carry it as a handbag but at least I have the option to put it on my shoulders if I am running errands.

well, i should say that it does fit on the shoulder...but not incredibly comfortably for someone my size (you've seen the pic, i'm large).
but, regardless, i love the bag. it's gorgeous.
