Should I be stuffing my bags?

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who stuffs her bags with textiles! Except mine are sizable fabric scraps (less than a yard in length) folded and arranged to form the bag's shape. It's always a pleasant surprise to find a bit of silk or really nice cotton which I was saving for "later" or something "special" and had forgotten about. I'll show you what I've done with the raspberry silk when I've finished.

Very cool, look forward to seeing it...:ninja:

I've got the fabric bug too, and managed to come across some exquisite baby-wale dusty grey corduroy that I have implemented to construct custom linings for some of my ligher-colored suede lined bags. It works very nicely, and you can just toss the little liner in the washer or sink. I like to protect my linings as best as I can, without being overly anal. Usually, I lightly stuff the exterior pockets as well...not to the point that they buldge or anything.

Most of my bags are stuffed. I think if you keep them stuffed, it holds its shape better. The only bags I keep unstuffed are my paddys and bbags since I want them to stay as slouchy as possible.

Newpaper ink will definately come off onto your bag. Especially if you live in humid areas. If you are going to use paper, use the archive quality acid free tissue.

It depends. A couple of my structured bags are stuffed, but the rest aren't. I'm really not comfortable putting paper in there that's not acid-free anyway, and what comes with any bag most certainly isn't.
