Shoe Brands/Models Recommendation Needed for People with Wide Feet

Great question, I'm paying attention too. My favorite shoe at the moment is the Ferragamo Vara, only black and black patent are easily available in the D width. I would be okay ordering something in their custom line if I could ever actually see all the colors in person.

Other brands that work for me are Prada, especially the sandals. I haven't had good luck with Stuart Weitzman, they make a few styles in wide but, so far, I have ended up returning anything I have ordered. I have been able to wear Manolo flats by going up a size or two but, only with round or ballerina styles. I find with the pointy toe styles, the length is exaggerated to start with and when we go up in size, they become problematic and I will bump into things. With Jimmy Choo, I've managed a peep toe style with a platform, again going up a size, take a look at the Luna and the Nova.

old thread, but interesting topic

- What size/width are you? 6D

- Do you get your shoes stretched, by a cobbler or DIY? How much have you been able to stretch them by? I tried, by cobbler and by using special mousse. Didn't work.

- What brands make wide shoes? What about brands that make shoes that tend to fall on the wide side?
I like Ferragamo (C and D), some Tory Burch and Tods also OK for me.

- Do you get shoes custom-made? By who? I did, by an artisan in Bali. Didnt really like it, though.

- What else do you do to land the shoes of your dreams while still keeping foot pain to a minimum?
Band Aid Friction block.

My buggest problem is actually find pointe shoes. I have to do custom made, and it cant be done here in Asia.

Try AGL shoes. Nordstrom sells them. I have 2 pointy pairs and Have never been able to wear pointy shoes. I use mole skin to help with friction areas. I know how frustrating it is to buy shoes with wide feet. That's why I have more purses[emoji6]

Thanks for the recommendations girls. For those who buy tieks do you size up? I'm a 8.5 should I try a 9 then?

I'm 8.5 wide.

I've never gotten my shoes widened at a cobbler. I did once buy a shoe Widener as seen on TV kit it was hard to use and didn't really work. It ended up in the trash.

I typically wear casual shoes. Gym shoes I typically had good luck with ASICS or Nike in wide widths. Even some if the Nike regular width work when it's meshy or flynit. Also I've had luck with Adidas regular shoes running wide. Summer shoes I like birkenstocks, chaccos, Havaianas, and a older pair of Balenciaga t style flats sandals (for a lack of a better description). I've had good luck with Vince Camuto boots too. I've also had good luck with keens, granted they really aren't stylish but super comfy, have a wide toe box, and are great when you're on your feet all day. In winter I wear emu boots (like uggs but have a rubber sole) mostly out of laziness and keep my feet warm. But when we have snow I wear either my wide width timberlands or sorel boots.

I tried a few pairs of tory Burch flats never again lol. Blisters around the elastic band and the leather soles and tile do not mix well for me. Got one pair with the medallion which hurt the top of my foot as it prevented me from bending it like normal. I had a Vera Wang flat that actually had a hidden wedge in it, they were OK they fit fine and broke in well. I just found them uncomfortable because of the hidden wedge. I still want a flats which is why I appreciate the tieks recommendation.

I have wide feet too, not sure how the width sizing differs in the UK vs the USA, I'm an E fit, size 38.5. I'm keen to try Tod's and Ferragamo, sounds like I may find a fit, I'd automatically assumed that they would be too narrow. There's a store in the UK called Ted & Muffy, (used to be called Duo), they make wide fit and calf fit boots, fabulous quality but expensive - I usually buy in the sale.

I'm keen to try a company called Sargossa - apparently they make super comfortable heels, the designs are stunning, but I'm not sure how they will work in the width - if I take the plunge, I'll report back :smile1:

- What size/width are you?

I'm between a 6 and 6.5. Definitely a D width.

- Do you get your shoes stretched, by a cobbler or DIY? How much have you been able to stretch them by?

Both. I purchased a pair of wooden stretchers on eBay and I use them as much as possible. Much cheaper than having a cobbler stretch them all the time.

- What brands make wide shoes? What about brands that make shoes that tend to fall on the wide side?

Believe it or not, I have found some styles of high end brands make wider shoes. I have had great luck with kitten heels by Manolo Blahnik and Prada. And yes, I even have Loubtoutins. Their ballet flats are made of very soft leather and stretch beautifully, and I also have a few pairs of booties that stretched to my foot. Tod's leather also stretches and is very durable. Banana Republic makes great suede ballet flats that conform to a wider foot too.

- Do you get shoes custom-made? By who?

No, I've never done that.

- What else do you do to land the shoes of your dreams while still keeping foot pain to a minimum?

I just stick with styles that work with my feet.
i didn't know cobblers did such things these days - thanks for the tip

Ecco brand shoes run fairly wide. I've bought several pairs and did not have to have them stretched.

I tried AGL and they were too tight in the toe box for my 6.5 WW feet. I really like AGL too.

I don't suppose there's anyone out there who's unfortunate enough to have extra wide feet like me and can recommend some brands?
I keep ordering beautiful shoes and nothing seems to fit - I'm hoping there's someone out there that can point me in the right direction.

I have incredibly wide feet that are super flat and a high arch. They might as well just be slabs of meat, LOL! To give you an idea, if I were to wear wide width shoes I would go down to a 9, but in regular width I'm pretty much always a 12 in designer shoes. I find purchasing shoes incredibly difficult so when I find a brand that works, I stick with it. I don't actually own any wide width shoes because it's hard to find fashionable ones and I'm picky, so these will be brands that I found stretch with wear really nicely and are comfortable. I have a lot of issues with shoes rubbing the backs of my heels, too. For less expensive brands I would try: Coach, Toms (their canvas stretches super fast, also if you can locate their all leather version, I lived in them until it got too hot), Tory Burch, Pretty Ballerina, BP shoes, and Sam Edelman. The Lucky Brand Emmie flats come in wide widths and are pretty comfortable.

For higher price point brands, I swear by Chanel. My black ballet flats from Chanel have been resoled and have stretched so comfortably for me and there's no rubbing whatsoever. I own three pairs of Chanel flats and I live in them practically, plus a pair of Chanel wedges. If I could only own one brand of shoe for the rest of my life, it would hands down be Chanel. Sadly the prices for the flats keep going up, but what can you do? If you're looking for a heel I own and find the Louboutin "apostrophy" to be super comfortable. I own two pairs of Charlotte Olympia: heels and the cat flats and they work fantastically for me, too. If you're looking for boots, I have the Jimmy Choo "youth" boots and they have stretched nicely and work great for my thick calves. If you want flats, I recommend their "waine" style. The other brand I swear by is YSL. Anything I've ever tried on fits great and I love my tribtoos. Interestingly enough, I'm always a 12 in designer shoes because of the width of my foot, but in my tribtoos I'm an 11. I also found Chloe flats to be super comfortable width wise, but they rubbed the back of my heel, so I'm thinking of trying them in a smaller size.

Brands I've tried and don't work for me: Roger Vivier, Valentino and Nicholas Kirkwood are all brands I stay clear from, also anything that's patent. Patent just doesn't stretch enough to accommodate my foot, so I don't bother looking. Eloquii actually just released some pretty cute shoes and I'm tempted to try a pair. It's hard with wide feet because you have to take into account if the pinching you feel when you first try on shoes will go away or not. People always say only buy shoes if they're comfortable straight out of the box, but as someone with incredibly wide feet I don't live by that saying. For instance, the Chanel flats always take about a week for me to break in and are tight at first, but then become like little clouds of heaven.
