You’re 100% right- the y back are older, although they were around for a while if earrings weren’t sold….

Don’t worry about it. The rope one is just older. When did you buy the rope one? Is it from the boutique or did you get it preloved or handed down?

@bagluv4ever Those who have said that the y-shaped back is the older design are correct. They slowly phased that back out from what I have seen.

My first pair of VCA earrings, bought in 2019, had the Y shape. Each of my earring purchases since then have had the round disc type back that @nicole0612 mentioned, except one pair of small Frivole (pave RG with pink sapphire) that have a slightly different back than either of those.

What’s odd is my WG chalcedony are my newest and from Nov 2024. Maybe because they’re special order?

My special order chalcedony earrings have the Y back also! I also noticed on a special order pair in yellow gold that it has the Y back as well. An additional data point that may neither be here nor there is that a yellow gold pair that were clip-ons (no back) which I just had the workshop add a back and post to were created as Y backs as well.
