Also looking for a picture of the sweets in yellow gold pave if anyone has one! 🙏
Since I have lead this thread so far astray, I will come back to topic with some pave pieces.

I think these photos will load in an unpredictable order, so here is a summary:

Deer in headlights, spotlight on pale face WG pave sadly awful on me. (The WG pave vintage earrings are not mine, only tried on, and the WG vintage pave pendant and WG sweet earrings have gone to a new home).

In comparison, YG pave vintage earrings and PG pave vintage pendant.

WG pave sweet earrings vs Japan LE YG sweet earrings from 2019.

PG vintage earrings alone blending into my skin vs YG alone popping.

PG pave 2 motif earrings, much better with another color motif to make the earrings blend in less. In retrospect, I think PG pave vintage single motif earrings would have worked as well, but I already had the YG pave and PG pave was not available at that time.

Perlee pave earrings and pendant. Also not mine, just tried on, but I love them so much.

Photos are mostly without makeup in PJs. A sad state of affairs. I imagine it is because I usually check tpf (and am asked for a mod photo) while I am relaxing either before work or before bed and am definitely not vain enough/am too lazy to put on makeup and real clothes just so that a photo which will live forever on the Internet is not super shameful and hideous. ???

Here is a super helpful comparison from Nicole who has owned everything!

I typically wear smaller earrings and I’m pretty casual (but a gold and page girl) But i do want to try in other colors to for size and if they look good on me. However all my pieces are Cartier that i wear daily. Sounds like to get MTO you need to spend a minimum so i better get going.

Hello, VCA friends, 😊 I really tried to search this forum first as to not ask what could be an obvious answer, but can anyone tell me as to why the back side of my Vintage MOP Alhambra earrings are different in yellow gold verses the white gold? I just noticed this! 😇 Thanks in advance!! 💕IMG_8354.webpIMG_8358.webpIMG_8359.webp

I don't know the answer to your question, but my white gold mother of pearl earrings (and white gold pave) have the solid disc like your yellow gold pair. If you don't get an answer here, I'd post in the VCA Discussion thread, because there are likely more people on that thread. Were both pairs purchased at a VCA boutique?

Hi, the Y back is a slightly older version and the disc back is the newer version, though there is quite a bit of crossover time-wise. I think they switched to the disk back because it can be a little bit more comfortable for some people.

I just checked my white gold versus yellow gold vintage earrings and they’re similar to yours (meaning they’re different from each otherIMG_8721.webp). I would think because white gold is possibly weaker and needs a different design to help strengthen it? Or because the stone might be more translucent and they don’t want a solid piece to show through as much? I have TE yellow gold, chalcedony white gold, and MOP yellow gold in the photo.

You had me wondering, so I just double checked some of my earrings. I have newer white gold earrings with the disk back and older yellow gold earrings with the Y back. So I think the best explanation is production batch/year instead of due to the gold color. It’s confusing, because there is a big overlap (I have earrings purchased the same year that have different types of the backs).

Thank you very much, that help! I believe my white gold earrings are a little older than my yellow gold ones!
