My very first LV was a Speedy 25 (mono) that I bought in 2008. I wore black leather gloves in the winter and noticed some little black speckles on the handles. Unfortunately, I got a bit obsessive so over the next few months I:
- wiped with baby wipes
- used magic eraser (but did it too roughly and saw texture change to handle)
- used white pencil eraser
- wiped down all the leather with water to get an even stain (if they are all the same colour, then not a stain, right?)
- leather conditioner so leather does not dry out
- read about using baby lotion, so tried that out too
- read about using olive oil, so tried that out too
- saddle soap
- rinse and repeat all of the above in various orders

The handles actually don't look entirely terrible at this point, since it's been a while. I still love that little bag. But compared to my Turenne handles (which I tanned in the sun before using, and have not put anything on it! I learned my lesson!!), the texture is not the same. It does not have the same level of shiny smoothness - I actually think the magic eraser did the most damage. Or maybe it was the saddle soap?

One day I might go and get the handle and all the trims replaced - it'd be a beautiful new bag since the canvas is thick and lovely.

This is mainly why I feel very iffy about carrying obvious designer bags in public. I looove looking at high luxury bags but am too afraid to actually use them.
Don't be afraid to use them. Life is too short. But only when you know exactly where you're going and you know you'll be safe.

Because of the pandemic, I only use my designer bags when:
  1. Shopping at luxury stores, so CAs will be "nicer" to me.
  2. Dining with family and friends.
  3. Sightseeing at museums or botanical gardens.
  4. Starbucks run.
  5. Anywhere I feel super safe.

I was getting on my hubby’s nerves bc I was taking too long to get ready for a very important event. He was waiting for me impatiently in the car and once I finally got in the car I sat down. He grabbed my LV from my lap and threw it out the window in the pouring rain and it landed in mud. Thank god for the quality of LV and it was also a DE bag bc once I cleaned it there was no damage to it
If my husband did this, he would have to buy me 2 replacement bags to be forgiven...double for the trouble!

My first LV was a pochette accessoire in 2001. I didn't like light vachetta and the SA told me to put the strap in the water and then next to a source of heat a few times. The vachetta went to dark for me and it was worst with use. I sold it a few years later for almost what I paid (100€ vs 130€). Now I regret it, I should have had the strat replaced. The price today is insane, even for preloved.

I hab my Sienna for about 3 weeks and was doing some renovations on my appartement.
I went to a store to choose some materials with the contractor and he put paint all over my bag. I ran to the bathroom to clean the bag and he was furious beaucause he was running late. Hopefully, everything went off.
