Story #1
Soo I had a monogram delightful PM years back and I accidentally squirted sushi soy sauce (the little fish) on the vachetta strap.. The damage was as big as a 5x5cm blob and was impossible to clean at the time.. I made it worse by wiping it down with water and baby wipes lol..

Story #2
Unfortunately, I didn't learn my lesson and did the same mistake with my neverfull MM again.. I killed the base on the inside because I left the fish in the sushi bag and it got squished in my bag. I never ate sushi with my LV's ever again

Story #3
I left my Burberry cashmere scarf in my neverfull and you wouldn't believe it... I managed to lose my scarf in a shopping centre!!! Never saw it ever again... I remember calling the centre management a thousand times cause you know... $800 down the drain really hurt at the time, my partner bought me a new one later down the track but yeah... I also lost a good wireless computer mouse in my neverfull a few months ago too!! Not sure if neverfull jinxed or what it is

My stories are a little bit more of self-sabotage of my very first LV bag, a monogram Speedy 25, no bandouliere back then, so I bought a separate LV strap and attached that.

1. Hand on my heart, honest- my first few LV SAs told me to get my hand oils all over the vachetta to help it patina so that I did that. It got so dirty. This was in the early 2000s.

The handles were filthy (I like a patina, but these were just dirty), so I went in to a boutique (maybe around 2010?) to ask to have them all replaced. The SA refused saying that I should leave it. Unfortunately, this was before I had the tPF on my radar- that would have helped so much! I got tired of fighting about it and went home dejected.

2. The handles were so gross that I painted them and the strap black. I really liked the look of it (this was before LV made mono with black leather a thing), but was still kind of bummed that the SA refused to replace the handles.

3. Since I missed the Sprouse collection, I had an artist paint a flower on it. Again, I liked it, but it still always thought back to that SA. I am a lot more assertive now, so it would have gone differently if I went in today.

4. So I cut up the bag since I was never going to use it (by that point, I was afraid people would think it was a fake since I had changed it so much). I did frame a piece of it and am happy with that since I hang it where I can see it all the time. And I recently got a Garden Speedy 25 and mono 20 so I kind of consider those my replacement bags. I am currently framing some of the LV Kusama paper bags, so I just took this picture a few days ago to take to the frame store.

Here is my first LV bag in all its modified glory!

Great thread! My son once dumped a whole cup of Dr Pepper into my delightful pm in a restaurant! Louis Vuitton‘s quality is so good, the bag held the pop without leaking haha I had to go in the restroom to pour it into the sink. After we got home I rinsed all my things off and rinsed the interior of the bag out with water. It didn’t even ruin my bag thank goodness!

Even though this is an unfortunate incident, it does sound really funny.
And yes, I agree, I think LV quality is great so it would naturally contain liquids very well.

I was getting on my hubby’s nerves bc I was taking too long to get ready for a very important event. He was waiting for me impatiently in the car and once I finally got in the car I sat down. He grabbed my LV from my lap and threw it out the window in the pouring rain and it landed in mud. Thank god for the quality of LV and it was also a DE bag bc once I cleaned it there was no damage to it

That didn’t exactly speed things up, since you had to get out of the car and clean your bag?

I don't think my husband would survive a stunt like this. At the very least he wouldn't be my husband anymore afterward, and not just b/c he dirtied my purse.

I had a cotton pouch that I sprayed with alcohol cuz I’m a germophobe but it was dry when I put back in my purse and it was next to cosmetic pouch so it left a white splotch on the Lv. It just happened like a month ago and im so pissed cuz I take care of my stuff. I want it to look new as long as possible. I put leather conditioner but it didn’t help

@Peachychi try rubbing it clean with Dawn dish soap. My son got hand sanitizer on his DG slim wallet. He thought he ruined it. I scrubbed it pretty hard with Dawn Dish soap and got it out.
