I would say that the last is not in absolutely bad conditions, considering the others...sometimes I feel the need for a well used kelly to use it when it rains etc...this perhaps is a little too much, but the panels are not so bad.

I wonder who purchases these bags, most of them belong in the garbage.
Someone desperate for a K or B to say they have one, or someone who thinks they can buy a bargain and sell it for more than they paid to someone desperate. Not that $2500+ for s bag that appears to have been attacked by weevils is a bargain

That being said, the DIY thread is proof a talented person can resurrect some of them. Doc did amazing things with a lizard K!

This bag has been redyed many times over and not by Hermes. And even Doc can't fix cracks in leather. Cracks to me mean a very brittle bag.

I'm actually considering purchasing a bag that is a train wreck (bad!). Jut curious, If I bring it to H, will they ever turn it down and tell me it's not fixable?

There are others who are more experienced than I, but I am sure there are limits that even Hermès craftsman have. Since I've seen posts on here about new, one-owner bags being replaced completely due to issues being unfixable, its entirely likely that they can't and won't try to fix it. That said, if you love the bag and can live with its characteristics, there may be ways to manage the issues and breathe new life into it. The question I'd probably ask is: on the docride scale of train wreck, how bad is it? Hope this helps! :flowers:

On a more general note, some of these make me :crybaby:

Makes sense. I'll see what doc says. It's a vintage bag that I've been searching for (hint: it's in my signature) and I'm willing to take the plunge but it's a mess. I will wait for doc's response before I send payment.
