The Walmart greeter was almost accusing me of having something in my metallic satchel because it set off the alarm when I went IN! I was about to tell him where to put it, but I checked inside the bag and even tho I had removed 2 of those little tags, I found another one inside one of the slip pockets. Lucky for him! lol

It seems like you've found your sensor! The same thing was happening to me with my Heritage Stripe beauty case. I took it completely apart and there was no sensor inside, none I mean I looked the SA at the stores I would set alarms off at would look. A SA at TJ Maxx, I think it was, told me that Coach is putting the sensors inside their hangtags, so they can't be removed. So, you can't find it if you're to "accidentally" walk out of the boutique with something. I find it strange, but once the case was ran over the demagnitizing pad, it never went off again. It was beyond weird!

It might also be your cellphone if you carry one. In some stores when I walk in the alarm goes off. It has happened with different bags. Also in the same store for some reason the alarm doesn't go off when I leave. The SA at one of the stores says it my cellphone and happens to alot of people.

I had this same thing happen with a legacy wallet that I had gotten at TJ Maxx. As soon as I started using it, I was setting off alarms everywhere when I went into the store! I thought I had checked the wallet pretty carefully but then an SA at Coach checked it for me and found one of those little tags-she also ran it over the de-magnetize thingie but I was still setting off alarms! At another boutique, the SA's re-checked the wallet for me and they found like 5 of them...where they found them I cannot even imagine because I had looked everywhere. But I haven't had a problem with it since.

Same thing was happening here and that long magnet-looking sensor was the culprit!

Same here!.... Glad you found it OP!

I buy alot of my childrens clothes at Old Navy, and they have these tags that you have to cut off the clothes before washing and wearing. Well, I ALWAYS forget to snip them off so whenever we walk into the grocery store one of my kids seems to always set off the alarm. I figured out that the tag was probably the culprit!

Ha, me too! And clothes from the Gap! Someone in my family is always setting the alarms off when we shop. The people that work their probably think we're a bunch of theives or freaks. :push:

I had the same problem when i brought an ergo tote from the outlet. there was a small white sensor tag stuck it the front pocket, which i never use. Now i check every bag i buy inside & out before i use it.

The last time I had this problem it turned out to be a senor left in the cell phone pocket and I was carry something to return with me that happened to have a sensor in the packaging. So if you keep on ringing take a look at the items you are carrying with you.

My ergo tote used to go off randomly despite me checking every pocket. It's not like there are a lot of places to hide one in there. So when I went into the outlets a few months ago with it and it set off the alarms as I entered. One of the SAs took my back and ran it over the demagnetizer a couple of times and haven't had a problem since. She said there might be a sensor inside the actual lining of the purse and sure enough there it, and i'd have to damage the bag to get it.

Yup, same thing happened to me recently with a bag I was carrying. They kept making us go in and out of Pac Sun w/my daughter (cause you know all teenagers steal, right?!:cursing:), and it turned out I had one of those little sensor bar things in the inside zip pocket of my purse, and she was carrying my purse because I had most of the bags!!

Same thing happened to me with my Bleecker duffle! And it was indeed that little bar thing that was doing it. Unfortunately I was at the mall, so everytime I walked into the next store it would go off again! :faint: Talk about embarassing!

My teenage son got bored in the coach outlet once and put a few sensors on the ground and people stepped on them and they stuck to their shoes and would beep when they would leave. :s He thought it was so funny. I never brought him back there with me!
