This really bothers me. I don’t believe for one second that she had weight related health issues, she was one of the top athletes in the world. Every medication has side effects and risks and she’s telling the world that it’s more important to take those on just to be a few sizes smaller even if your body has allowed you to achieve amazing things.

Agreed. No matter what she tells her daughters, her actions are now saying being slim is more important.

I don’t care if she lost weight using medication. Similarly, I don’t care if people get Botox, breast implants, face lifts, nose jobs, etc.. I don’t see the difference…taking a weekly shot is worse than having surgery? Not in my opinion.

I don't understand all the hate over this. If you've ever watched any docs on Serena she is someone that clearly put in the work and training to be one of the best female tennis players. Good for her wanting to lose weight that training and dieting was not helping. It's a thing btw... as women our hormones greatly impact weight loss as we age. It's not just a "eat less, workout more" theory. I have to imagine Serena is still training and not just sitting around eating pizza and ice cream all day while taking "magic weight loss shot". 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I wonder what kind of research this homeschooled, worked her butt off since the age of 14 actually did. Suddenly everyone's an expert.

Even though she successfully takes this, I still would not ask for her thoughts on this drug. Other than it works for her.

Oh im sure she's still working out, plus weight loss drugs are commonplace so that in itself isn't really a big deal. It's the waiting for a few weeks after posting the pics and then doing a full blown campaign with freaking posing with syringes that's a bit gross to me.

I’m sure she didn’t do it for free. It’s an endorsement deal, no different than Nike or Gatorade.

I'm not at all bothered by her wanting to use a GLP-1 and appreciate that she is transparent about it. She my be doing it for reasons other than vanity. It's impossible to determine someone's metabolic health from their appearance and although she was fit looking she may have some underlying issues. Having said all that, she's not using any GLP-1, she's using the one her husband is investing in and serves as a board member of the company. For me, that makes it problematic.

I couldn't care less if she wants to take the medication for herself. Everyone can do whatever they want to make themselves feel better about themselves, IMO.
What I don't care for is her now shilling the drug as if she's some expert. Her husband is invested in the company, and she's a spokesperson. She's in it for the money.
Do whatever you want, but don't then encourage all the sheep to suddenly think it's a wonderful idea.

Suzanne Sommers always irritated me with her alternative approach to her breast cancer. Khloe Kardashian was suddenly an expert in migranes. There are too many people out there who will do things simply because celebrities encourage it. That's my issue. If Serena talks about how to improve your tennis game, awesome. If Khloe wants to give seminars in how to become a star without having any actual talent, great. Suzanne, sell those thigh masters all day long, good for you! Medical advice? I'll listen to the doctors I actually trust.

Celebrities have always endorsed various products…this has gone on as long as there has been media, and probably before. If that convinces you to buy what they are selling, fine. If it makes you uncomfortable, don’t buy it. No one is twisting your arm! Why is this any different? Her husband owns part of the company…she is certainly not the first to shill for a company where there is a monetary interest!
