I decided to keep it since it’s apparently very hard to get caviar and with certain type of hardware (where I am).

I bought the calfskin which I understand from research and the SA is more durable than lambskin, but less durable than caviar.

I take care of all my bags. I alternate between several every year. So this one will only be used a few weeks every year.

calfskin is a great, durable leather. my opinion is that both it and lambskin actually age much more gracefully than caviar does. if you like the calfskin, keep it. caviar is not the end all be all of chanel

Fully agree with this! Lambskin is so supple and luxurious, just needs a little bit of care (as should all leather) and it'll age beautifully. Calfskin is a very durable leather even when it isn't artificially textured. Caviar gives me cardboard vibes sometimes. Hearing people talk about leather as if they put their bags through gravel or the washing machine.

My first ever Chanel bag. I was thinking to get a woc but I ended up coming home with this beautiful lady. She is from 23K and in shiny lambskin. Anyone has any experience with shiny lambskin?

1st few purchases with my new SA in the month of Sep
23B Hobo in Red, 23K seasonal flap in black and turnlock loafers
The beautiful red adds a vintage vibe to this hobo style bag and I had to bring it home!
Love the double pocket on the seasonal flap as well, the 4 grommets makes it so much easier to wear than a classic flap

My first Chanel bag. Boy in medium with Ruthenium-Finish. I think it’s calfskin?

I wanted it in the caviar leather and but the store didnt have it. Not sure if I should keep it. I have two kids and I’m afraid it’ll scratch easily

I purchased my first Chanel bag at the weekend, a medium Boy in caviar leather from Chanel in Selfridges, London.
Exported from the UK VAT free and arrived today at home.
I can’t wait to start using her as a extremely early retirement present to myself!!
