only for $500 less & for a used & 10 years old bag, if wasn't a popular style & color, I would took the buyout.I'm EU based and I sold 2 bags in cash buyout and I have 2 in consignment with MAC.
They sent me a prepaid DHL world express label with insurance, although the declared amount they put is 500 for any bag (I guess to avoid a huge customs bill).
The two bags I sold in direct buyout were brand new full set, so they were accepted without issue and I received the promised amount maybe two weeks after I sent them each bag.
One of the bags I have in consignment was initially sent for direct buyout, but they offered me $500 less after evaluating the condition (it's a preowned bag about 10 years old). If I wanted the bag returned to me, I would have to pay the return shipping (like ~100-200). For this one I asked if they could switch to consignment, to which they agreed and it was more interesting for me as the consignment offer was 30% higher than the buyout offer.
The second bag I have in consignment has been there since January, and I'm starting to worry that it won't sell. Contractually if this happens they supposedly take care of the return shipping once the consignment period has run out.
Would love to hear more testimonies about consignment experiences with MAC and the time it took to sell.
of course would be much higher because wasn't using their money and they are not taking any risks of not sold or returned multiple times, especially if was selling in EU market too. much higher profit for them if sold, they possibly list it at the top of market value.
