See Through/Clear Bags - Yay or Nay?

I'd be too embarrassed for someone to see how messy and unorganized my bags are on the inside.

They just remind me of mall employees who must have their bags checked before leaving their store. Not an image I want to project!

Additionally, I don't see them as having any style. As others have mentioned, most of them are standard square or rectangular utility bags made of plastic - they are void of style in my opinion. No color, no unique shape, virtually no characteristics of their own. To pay designer prices for something like that doesn't make sense for me.

Nay, what a joke these are. It's almost like the designers are scoffing at buyers. Leather and canvas bags are way overpriced (IMO) and now plastic? Gimme a break!

Considering all the "nay" responses here, I gotta wonder....who's bright idea was it to bring these back and why did so many (top of the line) designers jump on the band wagon? I see lots of transparent clearance tables come July and August!!!!

I'm thinking about getting one (not a designer one) to use as a beach tote for the summer. I wouldn't use one as a handbag. Although my bags are usually organized (I'm weird like that) I still don't want to display the contents to everyone. I've seen some, though, that are clear with fabric on the inside. Those are kinda cute.

my mom bought one of those from nine west and I thought it was sooooo ugly... but it does come with a "makeup case" inside of it to hide the unmentionables you dont want people to see...

Chanel has one for 1000-1200$

I got the Chanel naked pumps at NM earlier this months in 2 colors and love them. I only intended on keeping one pair, but I can't decide whether I like the black or silver better.

The bag could be fun to go with them, but only if it goes WAY on sale. It definitely wouldn't be an everyday bag, nor a classic.
