Second thoughts about diamond studs :(

i guess it's more that i feel like princess cuts are a trend and not so much classics like rounds. when i wear them, i feel like it's 2003.. lol i know it makes no sense, but back then the princess cut were all the rage.

I wouldn't know about the "rage", but do you think everybody who bought princess cut diamonds back then just threw them in the trash?

My biased opinion (as a non-American who noticed that American women tend to really often wear diamond studs, compared to European women) is that diamond studs are classic, whatever the shape ;)

Anyway, let us know how you feel in a few days!

I think it's fairly normal for americans to exchange/upgrade their diamonds at the jeweller they initially bought it from. so i understand where your comment comes from.

I'm not american either, i'm from western europe, you're totally right, i rarely see any diamonds in my day to day life. When i ask my friends about the shape of my studs, they dont even understand what i'm talking about lol. Thats why i'm so happy with this forum :)

I think they are beautiful. I hope you wear and enjoy them. I'n partial to princess cuts. A coworker has a pair that she received for high school graduation more than 10 years ago. She recently began wearing them frequently. I don't think they look trendy. I think they look eloquent and sophisticated at the same time.

I think we need some ear shots to know for sure;) But they look like beautiful earrings. As you said before, none of your friends even knew what you were talking about when you mentioned princess vs round. No one on the street is going to think "Those earrings are so 2003" I think diamond studs are timeless in any shape!

Like anything, it shouldn't matter about what is trendy or all the rage. I see a lot of solitaires and halos. Not to my liking but the ladies who have them shouldn't care about what I think. They, themselves should love what they have and vice versa.

If you need convincing about the princess cut, then really, you don't love them. Change them for round or another shape you love.

What's the popular everyday style where you live? Or does it vary woman to woman (each with her singular style)?

Diamonds are diamonds no matter the shape. Wear them in love! Or go to a jeweler and have a nice ring or pendant made. I know Jareds does it (if you're in the US).

I really don't see how these diamond earrings could ever be seen as "trendy" since they are in such a classic setting. I do hope you start wearing them and enjoying them as they really are stunning.

Thank you guys so much for all your honest and kind words. It made me feel a lot better about my purchase. I'll wear my earrings for a while and see how i feel about them.
Otherwise i'll just go to a jeweller and see how much i can get for them in exchange for a round pair.
I think they are beautiful, I have a pair and also round and I seem to wear the princess more often.

Totally agree that they are classics!! Very pretty! Let us know how you feel wearing them and if you just can't love them, trade them in, get what you love, and don't look back! Good luck!
