Scarfdecisions… mod shots of these colorways?

So I’ve abruptly become aware of the world of Hermes scarves and in order to avoid falling off a cliff so to speak, I’ve established a budget that will allow me to add 7-8 ‘high priority’ scarves to my collection in the near term.

I spent the last couple of weeks combing thru past threads and have done a lot of self education, but I’m currently debating amongst the following scarves to be part of that 7-8. Of the below 5, I think I could only choose 2 for now, as I think I’ve settled on the first 5 to 6 scarves.

Does anyone have any of these in these colorways and would be willing to share mod shots? Thanks in advance!

I am relatively new too, my first scarf was la Selle imaginaire which I bought in September last year. It is a very slippery slope, I now have 4 cashmere shawls, 6 carres and 2 gavroches. I think you are wise to try to set a budget!

Of the ones you mentioned I only have La Selle Imaginaire, in the apricot colorway 05. The green one looks gorgeous too!

Which are the ones you think you already settled on?

The 4th will prob be a C’est La Fete but I haven’t decided on a colorway yet.

The 5th is going to be the 12 Leopards shawl.

For newer scarves, the scarf thread for their season is going to be the best place to look for mod shots - the problem of course is that those threads can be a lot of pages but if you are a scarf fan they are always a delight to go through!

These are all great choices! I can see you have a soft spot for blues and greens

I tend to prefer pink, peach, yellow, vermillion and navy

I have in 90 silk
La Selle imaginaire in abricot
Les Mustangs II in pink/blue
La Robe Légère in lipstick (hot pink)
2 x Tulpomanie (yellow and vermillion)
Brides et Destin in white/blue

In 140 cashmere CSGM
La selle imaginaire in Navy blue/pink (same as GloWWorM)
Grand théâtre nouveau in pink/coral/yellow
Botanica Grafica in White/Vermillion/Brun
Retour à la nature in Pink

I took some more mod shots of the 90 Selle Imaginaire. It is the scarf I wear the least, I think because I find the design a bit busy. I prefer the CSGM on me
If you would some mod shots of one of my other scarfs, just let me know!

I would suggest not buying to many at a time, because you will learn what designs you prefer over time. At least it was like this with me. I learned that I prefer scarfs with less busy, but bigger, or contrasting design. I also prefer buying online. It permits me to try the scarf with different outfits and to think about it a few days before deciding to keep or return.

Thank you so so much for sharing the mod shots!!! It’s great to see it laid out a bunch of ways. It’s very pretty, I do see what you mean about the design being busy. I like it in the 140cm format also, I feel like I’ve seen that format a lot when I search the forum for this style.

I hear what you are saying about not buying too many at once. I’ve been doing a bunch of research and scheming and while I feel like a decisive list is starting to emerge I’m definitely only going to buy one at a time and let each one settle before going for another.

And yes you are right that my interests seem to be trending towards blue and green, at least with H scarves. I was making a scarf ‘board’ in an app the other day and noticed the same thing. I think it’s because recently I bought some coral, pink, and burgundy scarves from Longchamp, so I wasn’t looking for those colors from Hermes, at least as much.

Some of the older scarves youve chosen may be harder to find (C’est la Fete). Also, I have found that not every scarf design/colorway I love also loves me back. I’ve been surprised sometimes with what works on me and what doesnt.

Yeah, it’s a very good point, and I have found the same with a few recently - the Cheval Sirene just didn’t sing on me like I thought it would, nor did Costume de Fete.

Some of the ones I’ve picked out seem to be available in my local boutique, so I’m going next week to try them on, which will help.

For the C’est La Fete… currently I’m waiting on that one to see if the desire for it passes, since I’m assuming it’s completely sold out in stores. But that one may just have to be a gamble, I like it sooo much in pictures.
