Scarf of the day - which scarf are you wearing today?

This consignment shop used to get 2 or 3 H scarves a year... all from the same lady, an elderly woman who apparently has (had???) quite a collection! But they haven't had any in over a year, so either that lady is no longer consigning scarves, or... alas... she is no longer with us and her scarf collection has passed on to her heirs (hopefully scarf-lovers!).

She must have shared your excellent taste! What ever the reason for selling (or indeed stopping) I think she would be delighted to know that you're looking after them and enjoying them so much.

I asked our other cat if she would - as an exception - model this gavroche for us (as the colours would be perfect on her...) and she was, indeed, much more helpful than expected. Not enthusiastic like her friend but absolutely fine with it:

Well, today is a special day for me - hitting the big 60! Eek! Sadly, it was not a good day. My various health issues have been worse then ever for the last few days, also elder son (who has autism) decided that he would have a major melt down. This set DH off and younger son was also not very kind or helpful. My sons are in their twenties, so should behave better, and usually do! Sorry for TMI, but I am feeling very low today.

So, it is just as well that I had some nice presents, and actually wore my new amethyst earrings with my newest scarf. You have already seen it, but here it is again - Bateau Fleuri gavroche. Apologies for the awful face, but the meds are making me look frightful.

First of all - a belated happy birthday - even if it turned out not to be the best of days - still worth celebrating! And you made an effort - the scarf is lovely and of course this is your special kind of intense blue most of us seem rather washed out wearing - you did good Amethysts are lovely stones - and the colour goes well With the blues of the scarf. Hope you feel better soon - best wishes to the whole family

Brown is a colour that I really love and which is quite frequent in my wardrobe. Still, there are much less brown scarfs in my collection than I thought... My Aloha Pareo, however, features some nice brown and rusty colours:

Thanks for posting the closeup photos bunnycat. How unusual this metallic on mousseline! I have a feux d'espaces twill that has a metallic dye..adds a localized thickness. Have you successfully washed this one?

I have, and ironed it on silk setting while it was wet.
