Hello TPFers, I'd like to introduce myself as a new scarfie on this fabulous board. It is 8th of May at my end of the world so please allow me to join in this week's theme. Today I'm wearing my most recent purchase, Jungle Love Tatouage in orange.

Please excuse my untidy knotting. I saw some here that has done a neat triangular knot. How do you do that? Can kind scarfies here please give me some tips on how I can do that knot?

And on to the flowers...

MrsWasik, wow -- you TOTALLY know how to make an entrance!

(As for the triangular knot, my take on it is this: the basic granny knot essentially wants to be a triangle, and if you are working with a flat strip as you tie the knot, a point will naturally take shape at the bottom. The trick is starting with a narrow and even bias fold, and keeping the knot relatively flat as you tie it -- perhaps working on a flat surface while you're practicing. That said, your knot is superb just as is!)

Thank you, Pirula! And I loved your glorious orange Jardin d'Andalousie -- that take-no-prisoners color way simply glows!

Thank you Azalie! Ordering this cw was a leap of faith for sure. I'm glad it paid off! So nice to take a risk and end up with something beautiful you might never have had.

Thanks again. [emoji8]

So glad you brought this out to share, I nearly pounced on several of these mousses over the past few years! So perfect for theme week and on you!
Thank, you lanit. I've never seen a mousse on you in one of your lovely photos that I didn't immediately covet desperately. Thanks for being such an inspiration!

On last weeks theme, another Legende Kuna Peuple de Panama.

I want to share some thoughts on this scarf. I am a newbie in the silk world. This scarf was in my top 5 most desired. When it came, it surprised me. It is pink, purple, and blue, so how could it be any better?

Well first of all, the blue is much more neon that it appears in any pic I have seen or is captured in my pic. It is not pastel. Second, the contrast border is MUCH more challenging than I expected. My tying skills are non existent, but I did figure out how to display the part I love (the pink square) by positioning it off center and hiding the challenging border inside my top. But needless to say, I am looking forward to the October 2 theme "HIDE THAT BORDER: knots that hide borders and/or emphasize scarf centers".

Thanks for letting me share. I would have like to have known the challenges of this color way before buying, so maybe this info will help someone else.

I love this sloth :)

Wow! This looks fantastic on you. When I tried it on it looked like a melted a creamsicle all over my top! I love orange but this combo didn't work well on me. You are lucky you can wear this colorway as it is the most unique of the three. This is a wonderful pattern though and those bees are just adorable.

This is a great scarf. I actually love the yellow border though HAHA.
In fact, showing the border may "soften" the overall look and make it appear less "neon".

I wish my eyes registered the border as a nice soft yellow. That would be good. I see gold, greenish, beige-ish--all colors that are not becoming to my skin. Thanks for your comments. Maybe I can reprogram my brain to see it differently.

Thank you everyone for the very warm welcome :D

Thank you Azalie, I think I see what you mean. Will work on it!

Thank you Bostonjetset! I did consider getting the cobalt blue one but my small scarf collection seems to be filled with just blue scarves so I thought I want to try something different. I'm glad I got it because it really is unique! Another thing I love is how soft this is compared to other H silk twill scarves. I hope to find more ways of wearing this beauty!

Happy Mother's Day, all!

There are so many fabulous H scarves with flowers, so I'll go with one with "FLEURS" right on the marquee, Fleurs d'Indiennes.

But I thought I'd combine being on theme with being on tangent, and try to add a visual aid (inspired by MrsWasik) about the triangle:

Paper strip example
Loose knot
Tighter knot
On!

[Bushbaby postscript]

And, Mrs W, I think what have on your Jungle Love Tatouage, rather than a sloth, may be a critter that can go mano-a-mano with Mr. Sloth for sheer cuteness: a bushbaby or galago -- thanks for featuring him! (Her?)

Cordeliere, a stunning scarf, regardless. But I think there's no one here who hasn't made an on-line purchase and then opened the package and thought "Uh oh." (It's way brighter or bigger or smaller or more see-through than the visualized item one fell in love with.) But I also find that there's usually a way to make these scarves work, and this is the BEST place for finding pals willing to share the challenge!
