Hmm, just guessing here, but I originally thought that all the monkeys in your pictures (the ones where you fused 4 to one image) came from the same CSGM - Au fil du carre - because of the similar CW. And this is an evil scarf for the guessing game, since it is a "best of AF"

but I love "guess the scarf" so I tried my best:

Okay, so maybe I made the quiz too hard... the problem is that I don't know all the answers!
I've substituted actual silk scarf monkey images for the ones I posted for the quiz (thank you Canuck, scarf1, HatTrick & Xincinsin) but I have some blanks -- I've named a few scarf monkeys, but I don't have photos. I've you've got one, please take a picture so we can fill in the missing ones.
I hope this makes it easier to name the 20 monkey scarves.
I'll post the sets together on sequential pages:

last: Libres Comme l'Air
above: Terres Precieuses

monkeys 5-8:

Au fil da la soie (the one with the camels)
Aux Pays des Epices
Mare Nostrum
?

monkeys 9-12 with xinchisin's monkey at number 11:

last one: Alliances du Monde
the one above: L'Atlantide????

even more above: Voyage en etoffes

monkeys 13-16 (thanks, Canuck & scarf1!):

?
Jardins d'Hivier (I find 4 Monkeys in this one)
La Charmante aux Animaux Moussie

monkeys 17-20:

last pictures: Sur un tapis volant

thanks for the fun :p

Bova, I totally understand your dilemma. I hadn't owned and black and white scarves until this fall when I Purchased both the Zenobie and Tyger Tyger. I personally preferred both of those to the CI. If I had limited myself to one it might have been the Tyger since it can look like many different scarves depending on the way that you tie it. Good luck with your choice. Rest assured you will not be making a mistake whichever you choose since they are all lovely!
Thank you so very much for your input angelfood, I do hope to go try on IRL before the end of the weekend if possible, it is especially nice to hear from someone who has this Zenobie. I feel like I have seen a few modeling pictures of Tyger in the B and W, but not Zenobie or CI. Thank you again!

I'll second this. I bought a black and white tyger tyger too. It can achieve various different looks depending on how you fold it. I love it. I'm not sure it achieves the same look as MyH's cheval en ma carre which is a smaller print and I think easier to throw on with anything than tyger. Tyger is more bold. MyH's post got me thinking about a small design black and white too but I have black and beige ciel Byzantine which probably meets that need for me. But never say never... I might add a small print pure black and white at some point. I love neutrals.
Thank you pocketbook pup, you do see what I mean about MYH's photos of Cheval. Although I love the Tyger design (I have it in a different CW), I would want this B and W to play nicely with solids as well as with striped tops/sweaters. Will keep you posted!

A huge shout out to dear Pocketbook Pup for inspiring me to get my Jardins Moussie. This is my first Moussie and I am in LOVE[emoji170][emoji170]... Even though the weather refuses to cooperate with the cheerful blues I have on today.. I refuse to let the dismal weather get me down [emoji3][emoji3].. View attachment 3267440... Happy Tuesday everyone!

It's the most beautiful mousseline I've ever seen, I tried it on and sadly passed on it .
Of course you look amazing in it ,that blue is your colour dear Eternal Love fb

Ballet Russe, in the green border...

John in DFW

Like BR in green very much indeed.

I don't think anyone has shown Annie Faivre's finesse designs yet. Here is my Libres comme l'air (with gold contrast hem) and Rosamonde's Astres et Soleils, which she so kindly let me play with (it is black and silver and gorgeous). Then a shot of them flung on each shoulder for comparison. I wish the silver Astres had a contrast hem. That would be PERFECT.

How elegant are these so restrained but so cool A Faivres .Both really special.

Lovely green on you Bova and a rarity , I've never come across that one , love it .

Ok my dear SOTD friends...since we are on AF week, I have a small dilemna for you to consider ;) Based on some enabling by MYH, and her recent post about owning a black and white scarf, Momasaurus's recent enabling pictures on this thread, and my love for my new black and white Ombre des Boulevards CSGM, I would love any opinions on the two I am considering, one of which is a AF design. First is Zenobie Reine de Palmyre, and second is Collections Imperiales. I am also considering Tyger Tyger in the B and W, but I do already own that design in a different CW. Perhaps one of you lovely contributors owns one of the above mentioned scarves? I have included the links to the online site for viewing.
Thank you in advance for your advice!! :hugs:

I tried to find photos of these CW's in the Spring 2016, but no luck :nogood:

i am really of no help as The only remotely neutral scarf I own is the blue/ white/ taupe jardin de Leila.
I love my scarves to be pops of color and pattern.

Please check out the fall 2015 thread as TT and the Zenobie are from that season.
Looking forward to seeing what you choose!

I just remembered that I do still have an Annie Faivre and shall hasten to model it tomorrow.
Meanwhile I'm happy to report that the visit to Hermès was a success. The second Zebra Maxitwilly in grey didn't work out and so I sort of upgraded …..
More to follow!

Thanks to Pirula, Bova ,PocketBP, Canuck BL, Eternal Love FB and Scarf 1 for the sweet comments on my long-gone silks.

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a good week. Chris, Lanit you both look great. ABQ I love your collection of monkeys.

Here is an archive photo of my circus, which I think was Annie faivre's first design.

Honeylocks, you're right that the first set of 20 pictures are all from Au Fil de Carres. Annie used parts of many scarves to make this one, hence a lot of monkeys. The guessing game is whether you can recognize the scarves by their monkeys!
If you can't recognize the monkeys from AFDC, I've also supplied most of the monkeys from actual scarves (they're a little different from the AFDC version.) Several TPFers have sent in the monkeys from their scarves, so I've identified those in the list. Still some to go!

Let's see if I can figure out your answers, Honeylocks -- you didn't use the numbers, so I might have to guess a little:

1. Au Fil de Carre
2. Terres Precieuses
3. ?
4. Libres Comme l'Air

5. Au fil da la soie (the one with the camels)
6. Aux Pays des Epices
7. Mare Nostrum
8. Art de Steppes

9. Voyage en Etoffes
10.
11. Rivieres de Babel
12. Alliances du Monde

13.
14. Danse de Cheval Mawari
15. Jardins d'Hiver
16. La Charmante aux Animaux

17.Gardiens des Arbres
18.
19. Sur un tapis volant
20.Sur un tapis volant

So these are the only ones we're missing...does anyone recognize these monkeys? I honestly don't know myself!
Yes, they're all on Au Fil de Carres, but on what AF scarf did each one orginally appear?
If you have a scarf with one or more, please show us!

3. might be from Recontre Ocean -- he's in the top of a column and there are fish around him.

10. could be a riff on Licornes, with the monkey on the horse's forehead instead of nose

13. a similar pose to monkey 16... was there more than one on Charmante Aux Animaux?

14. monkey on his hands, balancing on a ball... I swear I've seen this one, but I don't know where.
