Oh dear. I'm not ready to move onto the next theme week yet. I have one more jewelry scarf to share. It's very similar to honey locks finger crochet chunky statement necklace. Mine is a braided necklace using a 140cm moussie. I've even entertained weaving a long pearl type necklace through it kind of like the pic I saw online. I might give it a try later today. Sorry for not moving onto this week's theme. I'm not ready yet.

And I liked the twisted twilly with farandole so much I used another one and wore it out to dinner last night.

Amazing

Hello scarfies! Just in the nick of time I have a jewelry scarves post, featuring two dear TPF friends, Chestnutty and Arabesques. It's a long one. :smile1:

Last week my long-time SO and I finally tied the knot, and what better occasion than to tie some scarf knots as well? I've never wanted a wedding proper, so we decided to keep it simple with a city hall ceremony in NYC. Arabesques and a friend I've known since we were 9 years old were our official witnesses.

But not just witnesses! Multi-talented, highly artistic witnesses. My childhood friend, an architect, has a gift for structuring any material she lays hands on, and surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of her own making. Arabesques, as anyone who has seen her posts here or her blog knows, is an exceptional photographer, and she made sure I had the most beautiful pictures with which to remember the day.

My two friends' artistry was all the more remarkable considering the short notice they had: on Friday the week before last we decided to get married the following Wednesday-- no, no shotgun wielded by my father; just the complications of an international long-distance romance! On Friday I had no idea what I was going to wear, but I knew a white mousseline Au Portes du Palais I had bought might arrive just in the nick of time... but then again, it might not. I mentioned this to Chestnutty-- whose own white APdP had fueled my search for one-- and she instantly offered not only to send me her own beloved white moussie, but also her heavenly white, pale blue, and light grey Doigts de Fee-- a wedding scarf if ever there were one, with its pearls and lace motif. I demurred on her unbelievably generous offer to lend her APdP, because I knew I'd be thrilled to wear the Doigts. She raced to the post and got it on its way immediately-- outstanding scarf emergency response time! I set about choosing an outfit that would work with the Doigts and chose a white Alexander McQueen coat dress (inspired in part by a recent trip to the London exhibition of his work, with another fabulous TPF friend).

The Doigts arrived in the mail. Then the APDP landed too! And then my fiancé gave me a beautiful pair of red patent stilettos to match the Rouge Vif Kelly he gave me as a 30th birthday present years ago. The red picked up the colors in the APdP perfectly.... but I couldn't forget the feminine beauty of that Doigts, and its being a "something borrowed" from someone special. So I did what any sensible scarfie would do: I resolved to wear BOTH. :groucho:

In the morning/early afternoon, it was the APdP. And then in the evening, it was the Doigts with a pale pink and silver Sita Murt dress. The pink, pale blue, silver and grey made me feel very princess-y.

So, without further ado, two very special scarves that are both from Chestnutty whether directly or by her influence, and some photographs from the amazing Arabesques showing the evolution of the look over the day. The APdP went from tucked in to flying in the wind and then transformed into the Doigts draped to try to show as much of its pearls and lace as possible. And, just for good measure, a picture of the groom showing off his Hermes shoes but more significantly an important Hermes scarf skill: waiting in the boutique for Arabesques and me while we browsed in between visits to champagne bars!

Whew, thanks for letting me share. I'm so lucky to know so many of you around the world, and this day made me extra-grateful for that! :flowers:View attachment 3030567View attachment 3030568View attachment 3030569View attachment 3030570View attachment 3030571

MYH, absolutely superb!!!

Here is my Les Sportives, which I wore last week. I adore how MYH ties this scarf and I tried to tie as she does. I wonder why my ladies never get into line. Crowded.

You have the cw which speaks so dearly to my heart too! I love how you are wearing it. Do you have a button hole in your sweater that you knot it through? This is so clever! Beautiful, beautiful! The little prince gives his tail wag of Camails love too!:doggie::winkiss:
