Good morning Beautiful Silkies,

I am waiting for someone to fire my lame bum for lack of participation! It is so so miserable where I live--with Global Warming/ Climate Change--or whatever it is called--I am experiencing extreme heat AND humidity for the first time ever. Killer. You all know that this translates into NO SILK--which can lead to depression as my Silk Therapist has told me! Bottom line: this old girl is a sweaty, ugly mess! Ok, Sunday Confession over and I am not even Catholic!

This week, whether you are wearing a $7.00 T-Shirt from Target or a $900.00 capped sleeve T from Hermes---let's see how you dress that cotton up!!

Silk on a T-Shirt! Personally, I think one of these girls has got the wrong idea but who am I to judge with my pissy, hot, old-girl-kinda-mad summer mentality?

I've been learning over the past few years just how neutral my coloring is. I can wear warm or cool, ivory or blinding white, silver or gold (well, I'm allergic to gold)...

Red is my "color"—of all shades, warm and orange-y to cool and a wine grenat shade. Here are a couple of brilliant new red scarves I've gotten recently...

pirula, luvbolide, Kereen, moma, jet gal, expat wife, Meg, pocketbook pup, Chloe, Bova, Canuck and dooneybaby, ty: glad you all enjoyed the armchair traveling. Did not get to visit Troy, dooneybaby. We do plan on coming again though to visit Cappadocia so maybe on that trip and most definitely not is summer!

I found the perfect silks to celebrate our visit and remarkable Byzantine architecture and art of the region.

Since we are on the subject of color this week, my views are that I used to think only certain colors worked for me, typically reds, bright and bold colors and designs. H does such a marvelous job mixing their colors that I am surprised when a color that usually would not suit me, can be a perfect foil depending upon what I am wearing the day I might try on a silk.

Case in point - Hippopolis AW 2015 - this little gem with its details reminds me not only of the region we visited, but the little figures also remind me of the H. Miyazaki animated creatures (and I love his films)!
