Les Sportives...haven't seen this one posted for this weeks theme.....
Very elegant katekluet!

I have just been looking at some of my scarves and blogging (yes Pudfish you read it right!) anyway just to finish up last week's theme here is a Noel Faubourg 24 plisse.
Lucky you with a Noel au Faubourg scarf addict! Now off to check out your latest blog post!! :smile1:

Good Morning Silkies,

This week's theme is about COLOR! What color are you? As a member of this thread for 4 years, I know that frou frou and I share a deep ruby/rouge h, Chestnutty is a BLUE lover, calexandre does green better than a leprechaun, moma wears grey gorgeously Israelia Flava and jp rock PINK---but are these colors that we love AND look the best on us? Or might there be a color out there that would make us GLOW but we haven't discovered the illuminating silk just yet?? Who knows the mysteries that are embedded in the fibers of these squares of obsession?

There are many cites to help us ponder the ideas of about cool/warm and neutral skins, eye color, hair color and what colors complement us so I thought I would share one with you if you have not thought deeply about this rather shallow life concern of ours. (Don't hate me for saying this:giggles:)

DANG SILKIES, MAJOR THUNDERSTORM AND INTERNET IS NOT WORKING--POOHY---CAN'T UPLOAD PICS. FORGIVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Check Your Veins
Push your sleeves up right now and look at the veins on the inside of your wrist. Are they blue or green? If they look more blue, you likely have cool undertones. If the veins look greenish, you’re warm. It’s worth noting, warm girls, that you’re veins aren’t actually green—they look it because you’re seeing them through yellow-toned skin (yellow + blue = green.)
2. The Good Old Jewelry Trick.
Think about whether you look better in silver or gold jewelry (Not which you like more, but which actually makes you look more radiant, glowing, and awake.) Typically, girls with cool undertones look better in silver and platinum metals, and warm-toned women look better in gold.
3. The Neutral Test.
Think about what neutral shades flatter you best. Does your skin, eyes, and face look better in bright white and black hues, or ivory, off-whites, and brown/tan shades? The former means you’re probably cool-toned, and the latter, warm.

4. Eye and Hair Color.
Your natural eye and hair colors can help figure out your coloring. Customarily, cool people have eyes that are blue, gray, or green and have blond, brown, or black hair with blue, silver, violet and ash undertones. Conversely, warm-toned women usually have brown, amber, or hazel eyes with strawberry blond, red, brown, or black hair. Their hair tends to have gold, red, orange, or yellow undertones.
5. The Sun’s Effects.
When you’re out in the sun, does your skin turn a golden-brown, or does it burn and turn pink first? If you fit into the former category, you’re warm-toned, while cool tones tend to burn (fair-skinned cool girls will simply burn, while medium-skinned cool-toned girls will burn then tan.)
6. Identify with a Celeb.
A few celebs who have cool undertones: January Jones, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, Lucy Liu, Cameron Diaz, Cara Delevingne.
A celebs who have warm undertones: Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Alba, Rachel Bilson, Jennifer Aniston, Beyoncé.
7. Find Which Colors Look Best on You
There’s no denying that certain colors will make you look better regardless of your skin’s undertone. Warm-toned girls should lean toward yellows, oranges, browns, yellow-greens, ivorys, and warm reds, while cool-toned girls should wear blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and true “blue-based” reds.

.

Those two are genius, never heard of the vein test, but logical! Also the sun test is true as i use to joke i'm turning red before brown is even possible

Thanks for that! Hope thunderstorm is over by now :smile1:

Hot and Humid here, but no rain or thunderstorms…

I came out a "cool" for almost all your questions, Lisa. I have always been attracted to cool colors -blue, green , purple, bluish reds rather than orange, gold, yellow.
Colors like dusty pink, grayish toned colors, do me no favors…

And I love the ocean from navy to aqua to teal.
Let's see what is my fav color?
(note: I do have a few scarves NOT pictured… LOL!)

Thought a few of you might find this interesting. About 30 years ago I had my "colors" done.
Consisted of holding up different swatches of fabric. It was all more complicated than that, but to be honest, I don't remember the details. I do still have the fabric fan of color swatches I was given (had not actually looked at this in ages). Rather than just say you are a "winter" or "summer", once they picked out all the swatches, she said something like you are 60% season 1, 30% season 2 and 10% season 3…

Anyway the first pic is my complete fan including the metals best for me- silver, gold or copper.
I do wear both gold and white gold/silver jewelry.

2nd pic is the subset of clothing colors I actually wear.

Of course back then my hair was brown, and now it is silvery… Not sure if that changes what looks best on me...

You look wonderful in a plissé, especially if it's pink!.

Your blue, aqua, teal and green scarf collection is seriously beautiful Scarf1
Do you have a few red and black scarves lurking somewhere?
if not I admire you for knowing your own mind so well .Said by one who likes to wear a rainbow….:D

Can I honestly take part , as I've said I like to wear a rainbow.
It started with orange and more orange , then all the reds.
A couple of years ago blue crept in , then green . It's surprising but colours I used to think didn't suit seem to now !
