Off-theme, but it is what I'm wearing tonight, as my DH and I take my mother out to dinner for her 90th birthday.

Inspired by our dear birkinmary's brilliant video tribute to Philippe Ledoux, my first Ledoux scarf: a new-to-me Napoléon, tied three ways, ending in MYH's brilliant cowl. A perfect way to wear a scarf to dinner (no ends to trail in the onion soup!;)

Elaine, I love you new Napoleon!!! The CW is stunning on you:graucho: I love being able to see the scarf tied all three ways. Thanks for sharing:D. The cowl is a great way to wear a scarf to dinner. I need to figure that on out:smile1: enjoy!

I hope your Mom had a wonderful 90th birthday dinner:))

Congratulations! It's' gorgeous on you, dear Elaine, not Christmas-sy at all! I need to learn MYH's cowl because everyone looks cozy in this knotting!
Thank you for sharing, and Happy Birthday to your mother:heart:

Thank you for the birthday wishes to my Mom, dear cherryblossum... she had a wonderful time!

I think you will love MYH's cowl. It makes the scarf look completely different, and it also shows parts of the scarf that are usually never seen. It is like getting a brand new scarf... for free!;)

Thank you, dear Elaine! This cw of the circus made me realize what we call " the miracle of H"!
But your Circus is just awesome and adorable!!!

Thank you, my friend!

I continue to be surprised and delighted (and sometimes a little embarrassed) at the realizations I have about my scarf drawer thanks to this thread. To wit: had you asked me yesterday how many multiples I had, I'd have said I have a couple patterns in different formats. Well... peering through my scarf drawer it seems that in reality I have multiple Marwari, C'est la Fete, Rencontre Oceane, L'Instruction du Roy, Les Flots du Cheval, Splendeur des Maharajas, Axis Mundi, and Magic Kelly. :shame:

I snapped a pic of the mousse duplicates because I had them out for refolding anyway. Shown here: Flots, Axis Mundi, and SdM; and an original issue Rencontre Oceane GM mousse with its silk 90cm partner (I never wear the latter, so I'm hoping for better luck with the former-- the pattern is just gorgeous).

And the Emeraude/Burgundy Flots worn in the *** knot-- when I saw Arabesques' photo last night I couldn't wait to try it out in the morning. This is by far my favorite trick I've learned for the GM mousses-- it really suits the nature of the fabric well! :smile1:

Now to page back through the zillion or so beautiful pages of this thread that I missed while traveling.... :sweatdrop:
Thank you for sharing your stunning moussies, calexandre. What gorgeous colors! And you look so beautiful in that graceful knot. I expect you to begin spinning around like a ballet dancer!

Thank you Momasaurus! It was fun taking them out and photographing them. I have actually never worn the 90 APdP, and was surprised that it went so well with that cardigan. It helped that DH was out of town, since he would have plotzed if he saw the bedroom while I was photographing this. It looked like my closet exploded - he would have thought I was wackadoo, too.

I know, right? I keep wanting to lay out all my scarves on the bed for a "family group photo" but I'm waiting until DH leaves the house.

It's not that I keep my purchases a secret... but I don't exactly "advertise" them, if you know what I mean!:p

Today's contribution is another favorite x 3: Monsieur et Madame in two cws of regular twill, the brown one embroidered in Madison with initials and the t-shirt edition:

You look beautiful, as always, birkinmary. And I love the way you knotted Monsieur et Madame in your first photo. Very sassy!

Gorgeous Elaine, love the cowl. Good for you---I can't seem to master this puffy look.

Thank you, sparkle! But honestly, just follow along with MYH and her cantaloupe, and you can't go wrong!

Though I will say... the look of the cowl varies from scarf to scarf. My older scarves (like Circus) handle the cowl better, because they're softer. My newer, "stiffer" scarves (like Napoléon) come out more puffy and are a challenge. I had to tack this one down with magnets... it kept wanting to creep up over my chin!:p

Elaine, I love these little brown squirrels too, but unfortunately they are hunting and killing our birds.
Oh, dear, croisette! I had no idea that squirrels hunted birds... how awful! I will never look at a squirrel the same way again. I thought they only raided bird feeders... which is bad enough, when you want to keep the birds fed through the cold winter. But to eat them? Ugh!
