Okay I will have to think about this one. When I saw the topic my first thought was which scarf would I be willing to wear out in the rain! I like the idea of a cheery scarf better.

While I'm thinking please enjoy some more rainy day music -

"Rainy Days And Mondays"

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong
Feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around
Some kind of lonely clown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

Funny but it seems I always wind up here
with you
Nice to know somebody loves me

Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me.

What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

Good morning Silkies!!! The Carpenters music is still a pit in my heart--it is so sad how often the people who appear to "have it all" do not and suffer from a pain that money cannot fix. Robin Williams' recent death is a reminder of this.

So----here we go---Rainy Day Scarves. What is your interpretation of this?? Let the Silk Cheer us Up!!

Congratulations Valencia,

It's simply beautiful!!!

BTW Have you store got any new ones????

I think tha we live in the same "área".. well pretty near considering that most of our beloved "twins" and "cousins" re arond the world

Thanks!

Well, I plan to visit my store tomorrow and check if they decided to show something new. :graucho:

Really?!? Well, my username is self explanatory...:cool::giggles::giggles:

Yes, that's what I meant when I compiled the weekly themes: Scarves that you won't mind wearing out in inclement weather/not afraid of making further damages. The point is that even though H is work of art, at the very essence, they are scarves and that they are meant to be worn and experience life with you.
Of course, sophieg's interpretation of the theme (Scarves that lift up mood) is absolutely applicable as well.

Thank you sparklelisab! I'm whistling the song, thinking about what I would wear in the rainy days.

Anfang - Welcome back girlfriend. I'm following your posts on the Fall '14 thread to see if you're going to be a bad woman this season or not ;). Gladly, there are only two cashmere shawls and one scarf on my wishlist so I'll be on the sideline watching everyone splurge this Fall season :p.

Vitamina H, Hat Trick, momasaurus, IF, Sparklelisab, BritAbroad, Anfang: thank you for the Clic Clac a Pois and mousseline love :smooch:

Myke518: Yours is a beautiful grey mousseline shawl. I saw it in person and absolutely was smitten but it didn't love me back, otherwise I'd be proudly your twin! Very elegant and not too busy.

Katekluet: LOVE your Ors Bleus d'Afrique changeante!

There is no way I'm going to catch up with all the beauties that have been shown in the last couple of weeks. So a collective thank you, you're awesome, beautiful, gorgeous and more to all the scarfies!

So, rainy day scarves... I guess the chameleon from Au Coeur de la Vie would be great to cheer up a rainy day...

But I think that my new, surprise addition is one I'm more likely to be actually wearing on a rainy day - vintage Clic Clac by Julia Abadie. Shown with Rouge Garance Calvi and Rouge Chili Carmen... and around my neck. It's an unexpected gift from a dear family member who though the scarf would be "better in my collection than her drawers". So now I guess I run a scarf rescue!

Thank you ,sophieg! I haven't seen this scarf IRL yet! It's so beautiful on you! Your contribution make me think of the theme much easier.

One of my rainy scarves is the Passiflores mousseline. The mousse arrived to me long ago not perfect, but I didn't mind much because at the time of buying, I had the very intention of wearing it right away.
Oddly, I found out that among my scarves, the scarves I wear the most are the non-perfect ones, as I no longer mind if the drape gets softer, the original folds are gone, or another pull develops.

The scarf I'm not afraid to wear in the rain has to be my DIY dip dye Tigre Royal. This scarf has been dyed, and washed 20-30 times to get the excess dye completely out. Rain won't ruin it.:tup:

Oooh, two very pretty scarves! The Clic clac looks wonderful on you!

Great DIY project. I am determined to do this someday. Congrats on this beautiful scarf, and how handy that that you can wear it anywhere with no fear. Hooray!!

Thank you, momasaurus!! This was a damaged, bargain find on *bay, so I thought I'd give it a try!! I'm very pleased with how it turned out, but I don't think I'll do it again. (The original color was pink and white with gold fronds - and stains.)
