I'm so happy for you, darkstar! ... you look gorgeous,❤️Hello and good morning,
This is my third and last CSGM by Christine Henry, La Légende du Poisson Corail. I bought it some weeks ago with the precious help of our fabulous @Croisette7 . And yes, @HermesEchidna , she doesn't only design flowers.View attachment 6217629View attachment 6217630View attachment 6217631View attachment 6217632
What a cute pic, Tea!Goofing around with my scarf parrots - one of which seems to be about to grab my earring 😆 - and my kitty, who would surely love to grab a parrot! 🦜 View attachment 6217804View attachment 6217805
Love all colours, LKB!Today, I pulled one of my first (pre-collecting days!) Christine Henry designs-- one which remains a great favorite with me. L'Arbre de la Vie was issued in AW 2011 and was a special occasion gift. In the years since I added two additional cws (one scarfluenced by @Cookiefiend and @Karenska) and the one I am wearing today. Here is the scarf story:
Like a metaphor, this fabric tree speaks to us of the bond that unites mankind to the vegetal world, that essential ingredient of textiles. In the tropics, bark is beaten until it becomes soft and supple, in Western Africa, hibiscus, n India jute or in Asia certain types of nettles…Flowers, leaves and fruit all lavish their colors. A portrait of the world, genealogy of techniques and resources, these are a bit of what these lines contain. Each leaf is decorated with geometric patterns symbolizing a culture, a belief or a social status… and whose complexity at time conjures up a sort of magic protecting from harm or summoning luck.

A treasure in these colours, darkstar! ❤️Hello and good morning,
Yes, I also have a grail by Christine Henry, it is probably my grail of the grails of my whole collection. When I became aware of its existence several years ago, I had to have it, whatever the price because it is priceless to me. Here is my personal story behind. When I was in my early 20s, I visited Pompeii for the first time and was completely enthralled by its beauty. Then I discovered this mosaic on site, Cave Canem, and was even more enthused: Roman culture, mosaic and a hilarious doorstopper! I visited Pompeii again some years ago and again, it was a magic site for me, regardless the many more visitors this time. So, this Christine Henry "adaption" had to be mine, for sure. I dedicate it today to all black cats, Tea's and our black visitor from some weeks ago and the one we pass each day on our walk. ❤️🖤❤️View attachment 6218157View attachment 6218158View attachment 6218159View attachment 6218160View attachment 6218161

DH and I are packing tomorrow for a ten day trip just as the last of our summer friends and family have left us. It is a good kind of happy chaos! Thank you to @turfnsurf for a marvelous week and I hope it will mean that we see more of her on this thread! I think I will finish up the week with some archive photos, if y'all will indulge me...

Katharina, you look smashing, dear! I really would like a flat pic of the colour combo, if possible? As a last minute contribution my Peuple du Vent 😊 Both Cs are underrepresented in my scarf drawer. I‘ll have to change that! A big thanks to you dear @turfnsurf for being our scarfmistress! It has been a week with so much inspiration (and new scarves on the wishlist 😂).
