I purchased only one 90 scarf from last season, and it was Emile et Une Nuit. This makes it an Oscarf winner for me as well. Thank you for the nomination and selection, @LKBNOLA.

Happy 2025, Everyone! Emile et Une Nuit is my scarf of the day.

What a delightfully cheery scarf, Rbh. I love the colors and with your bright red blouse!

I live on a little island, so maybe that's why I buy scarves about islands? Nah, totally fake news

It is true though that in 2024, I found two island scarves that were on my grail list for a few years. Not important enough for me to really go on the hunt, but would totally nab if I found it.

So here are my two grails which tie for the Island Girl Award!

For scarfies who have been part of this thread for a few years, you may recall a theme we did called Robinson Variation, which invited you to do your own riff on the scarf design Le Robinson Chic. It was a lot of fun and so, when I discovered H had another design about Mr Crusoe, I was raring to get it - at a price that wouldn't send me to the poorhouse.

I finally found it and love it! Vintage, a bit worn, but mine, mine, mine! :panic:

Ahem, after that bout of elation, I found my second island grail. A long time ago, I saw a swirly design on the bay, and thought, huh, graphic dots. Then quite some time later, I clicked on the close-ups and discovered cute turtles! I didn't BIN it because I bought something else and ran out of pin money. When I went back, it was gone. All I could recall was turtles and island. So I ran searches now and then, and never found anything (except De Madras a Zakynthos, but that's a tale for another day).

I thought it was a 90 in silk. And wondered why I could never find anything about it. Then one day, I was wandering in the wilderness that is a reseller site where everything is priced super high and there it was! Cotton! And bundled with 3 other cotton scarves that I didn't need :crybaby: None of the scarf names was mentioned in the listing, so my search would not have found it. And the shipping cost was Riiiiidiculous!

I suppose I should thank AI  I exited and soon received an email reminding me that I had shown interest in something and offering me free shipping. I thought about how much I wanted that scarf, how long I had searched, did my H maths, then put in an offer. The rest is history.

L’ile de R is like a book, so fun and unique and your turtle scarf story is fabulous. I hope you have started a booklet that tells the integral and amazing stories of your scarf acquisitions.

Happy New Year, dear scarflandians! I hope everyone will have a healthy and happy New Year with many desired grail come true!
I have been MIA due to other commitments but wanted to stop by and contribute with my two new-ins - a surprising addition of Sieste au Paradis CSGM (it came NWT!) and a long desired CW of Les Chevaux Qataris. Have a terrific year, everyone, and thank you for letting me share!

Fortuna was smiling upon you. Incredible, beautiful finds. I had Qataris once in blue and unfortunately returned it.

For Biggest Gamble That Paid Off, I will award an Oscarf to this orange, fushcia, and gunmetal gray Brazil Detail 90. Got it for a steal and it’s so moody and delightful.

And @Lellabelle I think you wanted to see my perfume wall display well here’s where I’ve ended up so far. Originally I was going to cut some custom wood shelves and do a tall set of mini shelves but the area I was thinking of really did turn out to be too narrow. I have two of these gold shelves so I’m thinking I’ll set up a second one like this to hold the rest of the perfumes.

The scarf is made for you and has beautiful colors and the perfume display looks really pretty and clean.

Happy New Year!

I only post here about once a year as I don't change scarves often. Although I have many silks from 20+ years of collecting, I mostly wear 140 cashmeres no matter the time of year and 3 that I leave on the back of a chair as my go-to's for day, night, travel, etc.

We do an annual New Year's Day lunch with friends as we pretty much are past the stage of going out on NYE. I decided today was a good day to add another cashmere to my rotation and the first box I opened was my black CDL that I bought last year but never wore. I had forgotten how breathtaking it is. I wear a lot of back so I tend to buy very colorful scarves but I loved this CW online and in the scarf thread when it came out and seeing others who had bought it so I did as well.

As soon as I put it one I knew it was perfect. As we were getting ready to leave, my husband told me how beautiful I looked and wanted to take a picture so here I am in my "scarf of the day" on 1/1/25!

Wishing all a very happy, healthy and peaceful year ahead!
It’s perfect for 1/1/25 and you look radiant. Shoutout to DH for his nice compliment and taking your picture.

It IS a gorgeous shawl (am twins with you!) I love how 3D this design is and it is a showstopper - especially when worn in loose drapes!

My Oscarf goes to the year of 2024 being a bandana year for me. I didn’t have any before 2024. And now I have 5! I always said I would never pay H money for one. Ha big laugh on me. I love them equally to any other format.
The one I said years ago I might get if I came across was In the Mountains. No idea what colors it came in but this one popped up and I love it. I will buy any scarf with mountain or wilderness like a decoupages, and this one. Bonus of a cabin in the woods on it, plus All those trees :hbeat:. Next was Zouaves 140. Then that gorgeous unique raspberry in brides et Destin. In the same order I got the lilac etoiles and the borgogne color of festival of amazones 140 ( pic day I got it with tags on)

Very sad I can’t quote things from the old thread!

@redheaddem Your black and white Tulipomanie triangle is such a beauty on you! And I’m quite envious of the coral FT that you found, I will probably be hunting that one also, this year.

@mktlim your ELeK is so radiant! Not as familiar with that colorway so it’s fun to get to see it.

@Cookiefiend That green changeant is beyond fabulous! It looks stunning on you - so luxe and glowy.

@LKBNOLA What a glamorous NYE look with the black Clair de Lune and the red sweater! Smashing!

@Maedi your Douze Leopards DF is so pretty! Glad you were able to finally track it down.

@Nomad what a beautiful tone of green in that Maharani! That’s a special piece. And congrats on Au Bout du Monde - I covet that cw also. Maybe 2025 will be the year I find it.

And @darkstar66 @PoliticalGal @Cookiefiend @Maedi @LKBNOLA @Lellabelle @GloWW0rM @redheaddem
thank you for the sweet comments on my grail Oscarfs!
Me too, Jereni! I was trying to comment on two of your posts I just found, I couldn’t and I thought something was wrong w my account! Now I understand.
I love your new Acte III and the grail acquisitions in 2024! Well done🙌❤️

Happy New Year to all, dear Scarflandia,

I was finally catching up on the pages but couldn’t quote anyone to show my appreciation for your stunning grails!
This is my first Oscarf time here and I’m not sure how to do it. Do I post the personal grails that I found this year? The treasures that I fell for hard🤔🙃❤️This place is guaranteed the only community that understands this ‘passionate madness’ :panic: :love:
Here’s what happened. First I finally found not one but two CSGM Tyger Tyger by Alice Shirley that I spend months looking for in 2023. Of course I had to pull the trigger.
1735812084076.jpeg
Then my 4th Ex Libris en Kimono, 90 silk came my way (I already had one cashmere and two 90’s) on TRR for below market price.
1735811595308.jpeg
Then I thought I was safe w 3 double side L’Orphee silks and not interested in CSGM until I saw your mod shots and also got nice encouragements from Jereni and LKBNOLA . A bit later a beautiful blue CSGM arrived in the mail.
Then I saw Sieste au Paradis here, Bunnycat’s lovely scarf photo w pink shade and some other photos that kept haunting me happily 😂😂….until I ended up finding 3 gorgeous Sieste.
I found one on eBay from Canada, then later two more on TRR that were better priced, I think I just got lucky.
I think those are my 3 grails this year!❤️❤️❤️

But, whenever things got mad in that crazy world we live in, these beautiful designs, like paintings that they are, that art world provided comfort for me as I’m sure it does for all of us on this thread.

I got two more grail Olivier designs this winter.:love: The richness and the depth of colours tipped me over.

Going towards a confession here, 🙃😂this week after a long long search a scarf mail arrived with Zabavushka, used but in very good condition and at a much better price. (I wasn’t willing to buy the ones I’ve seen online so far because the price tag was insane! My long search has paid off)
I just fell in love at these pastels and adorable designs. I can stare at this like a child lost in some magical play. :happydance::yahoo:I’m so glad I got this and it was well worth the wait.

I’m not planning to do this level of collecting again in 2025 but for a full confession for real, 🤔this summer I also found my pink grails in Le Grand Prix de Faubourg, Pavement and Le Voyage de Pytheas.
Thank you for letting me overindulge here.
