I could knot be more charmed and amused by a scarf than I am with Emile et Une Nuit.
Seriously - I love it so much.

@HermesEchidna, I love your informative and fun introductions! I will also go spineless today.
Like you @LKBNOLA, I truly enjoy reading and collecting the stories behind each scarf (I might actually contact you to see if by chance you have a couple I am missing in your files).
For this one, Légende Kuna, I have not been able to find an English version, but here is the translation of the French:
"In the Gulf of San Blas, near the Atlantic coast of Panama, where the ghosts of buccaneers roam, is the coral archipelago of the Mulatas. The Kuna Indians sew fabrics (molas) that combine dream and myth. This one tells the story of the sun's struggle against the fish-tailed evil. If the sun finally triumphs, it's thanks to celestial reinforcements: the hummingbird, the rooster, the wasp and even the winged jaguar".
I had no idea I was walking around with a swarm of wasps (attacking a fish-tailed evil) around my neck!

Joining the Au Coeur de la Vie crowd by debuting my new-to-me black and green version and my only colorway of this design, so far. (It is also just back from a refresh and stain removal at Tiecrafters.)
Layers and layers of green - all the better to provide cover for the charming little creatures. 🐒🦡🦦🦔🐿️
If I had weighed in on last week’s theme, I would have shown this and a few of my other green scarves as a favorite color. In 3rd grade, my teacher, Mrs. Rueger, tapped me to play the very exciting part of grass in our class play. I was underwhelmed by the role, covered in streams of Kelly green crepe paper. 🫤 And she kept exclaiming, “I can’t believe how good you look in GREEN!” Perhaps she meant to assuage my dubiousness about it all. But underneath, I hoped she was right. Maybe green was a good color on me! 🧐☺️🤣 I do like to wear it, regardless.

Welp, our weather is going backwards here in the Midwest! We actually had flurries this afternoon for a short time. It's a bit chilly so I pulled out a scarf for a late dinner date with the hubby. View attachment 6156305
Good morning!!
Today I would like to look at Corners and borders!
The original inspiration for this theme was my amusement of the corner critters of several Dallet designs. I love how the main caracters, often Big cats, are surrounded by other wildlife running around in the corners or even being a part of the border.
Sometime there are good reasons for their escapes as in tendresse felines, where they are chased by the kittens, in other designs they are just being playful.

Of course this has a lot of overlap with the last days focus on cuties and bugs, as it is often the tiny ones Living at the edge, but other favourite ones are the ermine(?) on Legende brodere and the red pandas of Sichuan.

In other examples the animals themselves create the border or pattern in the scarf as the zebras on Tropiques or the bees in object de curiosites which many of you has already delighted us with this week

And sometimes there is just that single critter in the corner which make you want to tie to showcase it - as the flying fish in Sur mon nuage

Wish you all a terrific Thursday!!
Hello and good morning,
I'm travelling today and brought my Jardins de Soie along. It's still very chilly in the morning, the difference in temperature during the day is about 18° C. The nice and whimsical creatures are keeping me warm.View attachment 6156376View attachment 6156377View attachment 6156378View attachment 6156379View attachment 6156380View attachment 6156381
Good morning Scarflandia and Happy Thursday! There are lots of adorable critters on Christine Henry's Peuple du Vent: a sweet donkey, a dapper monkey, butterflies, birds and cute little turtles, too.

What a beautiful colorway you have for this gorgeous design. I love how all of the colors work so well together. Those little turtles are so fun! Sisters with you, with a much different vibe in a different blue. I found the dapper monkey.

My scarf today for a visit to the hairdresser was Acte III and I found two critters! Though I don’t know if a donkey with flowers on its head can be called a critter? 😂 The second one is a bird. I don’t know if it is a parrot?!? @Teaforparrots to the rescue! 😉

Scarf mail yesterday, making today's SOTD Mystere au 24! So many critters to choose from. One that's on theme is the sweet songbird chirping near the border, so musical and pretty. I loved the subject matter of this scarf, it just took me all season to choose the colour. I am pleased with this one.

I’m catching up, but life continues busy and I’m still behind. Had to make a trip into the city today so, in honour of our lovely hostess, I made a little detour to the Biodiversity museum today.
SOTD was wild Singapore. I wish I’d had time to hunt down some of the specimens featured in the scarf, but I was able to grab some quick pics on my whistle stop tour:

Good morning!!!
We began the week with the Big Three of Dallet, Oliver and Shirley, but of course there are many other artists who sprinkle multitudes of animals on our scarves - though not as often to represent a specific environment or naturalistic biodiversity.
Aline Honore’s animals are gorgeous and elegant (and a parade of lovely ACdlV has been observed in the wild already) and so are Katie Scots. Let us see more of your favourites of these!

Some designers even have small signature animals, sneaking in everywhere - as Annie Faivre’s signature monkeys and Jan Bajtlik’s Black and White puppy. We had a Faivre week some years ago, and I was impressed about the monkey-finding skills of this forum.
Can we make other quizzes and games?
Can the combined effort in here determined how many dogs are on Animapolis? What exact species are on Equateur? Does other designers have signature animals ? etc etc
Some Faivre critters - from which design?

Go spend time with making your scarves the puzzle of the day - and share the games you invent with us!
I am home in bed today nursing a massive cold and sore throat gathered during my trip, but this is my sotdby - before yesterday - a long considered Kachinas, which arrived in my absence and had to be tried immidiately after me getting off the boat. A nod to the other great Oliver designs just shared in here and with a tiny bird in the corner.

How about some critters that are, quite literally "fabulous"? Based on the fables of Aesop, my shawl features a fox, a wolf, an elephant, a camel, a horse, a donkey, a panther, a dog, a frog, some birds and even a rat!

Today's scarf has literary lineage too! The title of the wackily whimsical and utterly delightful Emile et Une Nuit is a pun on the "Les Mille et Une Nuits" tales that clever Scheherezade spun to beguile the king and stave off her demise. Emile's night however, is pure fun. As per the scarf story: "All through the night, under a sky of feathers and flowers, it's a spectacular firework display of joy and color." (@Cookiefiend did a marvelous job earlier this week showing the bugs so I added a butterfly ring to the party!)

Oh this is fabulous!!!! Thank you SO much for sharing the Kluska game - and for making it in the first place. There is indeed much fun to be had finding Kluska’s in Jan Bajtlik designs 😊
I made a little game of it a couple of years ago: post is copied below if anyone wants to try it:
Jan Bajtlik included an homage to Kluska, his dog, who is a central character and who appears repeatedly through the design. There are 18 Kluskas in Animapolis, including a dear one with Jan himself. Kluska makes an appearance in many of Jan’s designs.

Thank you! It was a lucky find, late last year and a more neutral / easier to wear addition to my colorful cw .. I hadn’t seen it myself before and had to dig deep into the old season thread for any mod shots. It’s a wonderfully charming design for sure! I absolutely love that cw and orange hem on your gray top!
Sisters on this design! Lovely colorway, I have not seen this one much.
Yes I believe it is! I am so bad a remembering the names. We did! Thank you! The charm is so fun! I am hoping to acquire some new ones too as they add a bit of fun!Perfection, @Sue J! The Jungle Love on you looks fabulous (It is Jungle Love, correct?) and I am loving the little charm, especially!
I don't have any of those myself (yet). 😊 I hope you and your DH had a nice dinner together, despite the weather. Your scarf had to have cheered up both of you.
If I hadn’t already bought so many scarves during the last few months, I would try to add Le Livre d‘Ésope to my collection! It is so beautiful and I love the stories. You look gorgeous with both of those fantastic scarves! 😍 Perhaps next month when my credit card has had a little bit of recovery… 😂How about some critters that are, quite literally "fabulous"? Oh this is gorgeous dear @darkstar66! These bright colors are perfect for you! I absolutely love it 😍Hello,
I don't have any scarves by Kermit Oliver, Pierre Marie or Katie Scott. These are not quite for me and really, I have to make choices, but of course they look good on everybody else. 😁 But I have some beloved Annie Faivres and this week I haven't worn any yet, so...
