Astrologie by Francoise Falconnet was first issued in 1963 according to piwigo. Been reissued I don’t know how many times, but there are lots of colorways out there. I still haven’t zeroed in on a cw for me yet of the original. Here for reference.

Here is a new to me NEW version from 2022 called astronomie astrologie in double face with FF and Gianpaolo Pagni. Snowing here so I have the coziest of wraps around me today. It has a pale pink in it, though it isn’t showing as much in photo. So I thought a way to lighten up all my black would be this bright cw. I am wearing it as a neck warmer today, but also like it long so it dampens the black even more.

I also have astrologie nouvelle by FF and Cyrille Diatkine from 2012.
View attachment 5696669
And another version, Astrologie Nouvelle Tatouage, from 2018 which I would also like to get.
And as other scarfies have talked about the mousseline Astrologie sunrise recently released. And an amazing maxi twilly and and and and ;)
Both are beautiful ... I love esp. the colours of AN and the cute heart!
Just everything!! I want your outfit, so chic!
Thank you so much, hotgalaxy!

I have been eyeing the current reissue, thanks so much for posting the historical background! Love to see the original illustrations. I find this scarf super cute - a glimpse of times gone by.

And talk about differences in printing! The reissue looks so flat, though I think 70 is a great format for this fabulous design.

I have the pink and love it, have never seen this luxurious golden brown CW... Looks gorgeous on you. I adore this reissue, to me the matching with the leopard print is just wonderful.
Thank you @ajaxbreaker! Its is a big favorite of mine and I agree it was one of the most successful of the "cut" designs.
Soeaking of clouds rb, here is “Priéres au Vent” (Prayers in the Wind) is one of the earlier works of Dimitri Rybaltchenko designed for the Spring Summer Collection of 1996 and re-issued for the fall winter collection 1997. In fall 2001, it was issued as GM CS. “Buddhist pilgrims who armed with prayer wheels (visible at the four corners of the scarf) walk in procession around a stupa, the sacred monument which houses holy relics and whose complex architecture, dominated by the hemisphere, symbolizes the Elements. Up there in the clouds eagles also circle, gliding above the peaks, which point like Truth towards Heaven, and above the monasteries, from which emanates the quiet murmuring of meditation and asceticism.” (from Hermès Scarf Booklet Spring 1996).

Couldn’t resist showing off that cute pup prancing.
It is delightful @lanit and reminds of a trip to Thailand. I don't think I have ever seen the CSPM of this design...
I love Astrologie. I didn't go for the Astrologie Sunrise mousseline because I don't like the 140 size, but whenever H next reissues Astrologie in another format I will get it... I still covet this embroidered version Hermes released a few years back but it's way out of my price range:

Well it is beyond stunning @ajaxbreaker. Isn't Astrologie being reissued SS2023? You may be in luck!
What a fabulous acquisition, Lkb, congratulations. Wow! It’s a beauty.
I would so appreciate that, Lkb. Beautiful Equateur, too, my fav cw of this iteration.
Thank you @Karenska!
This is my first post in 2023. Have been a bit absent from SOTD in 2022 but hoping to be more active this year. Have really been enjoying the thread so far and seeing all your beautiful scarves!!

Earlier this year (of end of last...?) I acquired the The Royal Mews - Buckingham Palace in pink. It is one that I felt I really had to have in my collection to honor one of the biggest H (Horses and Hermès) lovers of them all: Queen Elizabeth. The scarf was placed on the saddle of her Fell pony Emma during the funderal procession.

One article writes: "It was designed by Jean de Fougerolle and was released as part of the Year of the Horse for Hermes. It was presented to Her Majesty at the 1993 Windsor Horse Show, which was known to be one of her favourite events in the royal calendar."

What looks like the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom (If anyone here knows better, please let me know if this is correct or not!) can also be found in one of the corners of the Harnais de Cour by LeDoux. The original design was first issued in 1977, so it in fact older than the Royal Mews. The one I have I believe is from 2017. I can't find any explanation as to why it is a part of the design of this scarf.

One website describes the story behind the design as follows:
"Two horses have trotted off leaving their harnesses behind... Outstanding craftsmen put all their skills into making these ceremonial harnesses regularly used in France until the mid-19th century but afterward reserved for sovereigns and galas. In the days when French was the language of the court in many European countries, harnesses of the court were referred to as “à la française”. How could it be otherwise? Manes plaited with silk or trimmed with velvet ribbons decorated with tassels and embroidery called palatine, metal or braid rosettes, gleaming blinkers, leather hand-sewn by master saddlers… It is easy to imagine how fine they looked in their caparisons, led by men who watched over their gait and their passengers – grooms, postilions, and other helpers. Decked in cloth, metal, and leather, every step echoed with the lively clap of horseshoes on the ground and the tinkling of buckles engraved with the family’s arms. By two, six, or eight, great attention was paid to the horses’ appearance for every one of these outings!"

If anyone has some more information on the designs of these two scarves I would be delighted to hear more about it!

Edit: I realised after posting this that there is a Royal SOTD coming up in May. Might reuse the Royal Mews that week as it so fitting for that theme! Even try to find more information about it until then...
This is a truly fabulous post @Naessi-- really enjoyed reading every word and detail and can never forget the scarf on that pony-- so moving. Congratulations on your wonderful acquisition!
Thank you so much, Karenska ... and here is mine:

These are all beautiful @Croisette7 and now my BdG wish list has just expanded by a factor of three!
Revisited drawings, recurring motifs... The strength of H. scarves and chales is that, like works of art and true elegance, they are timeless and also modern.
I don't remember which year I fell in love with this shawl, but it hasn't aged at all (me a bit!). I know that it is timeless and that I will cherish it for a long time to come!
SOTD Acte I, scène 3 "La clairière "View attachment 5696489
Absolutely beautiful @Coco2606-- cherish it in good health and you must have found the fountain of youth because you don't look like you have aged a bit!
It is just such a stunning flower and the scarves are the silky testament-- so lush and magnificent @Croisette7.
As @LKBNOLA and I were discussing, L’Intrus makes for quite a good neutral. Here’s my second colorway, which pleased me immensely by arriving in absolutely pristine condition from one of those resellers in Japan that list the condition of every scarf simply as “used.” I’m still on the lookout for the emerald green colorway (I’ve seen several in olive green but no emerald so far.) I laughed when I saw that I’d managed to catch a bird eye peeking out from within the scarf ring ;)

Oh this is such a great find for you @Teaforparrots! Congratulations. I just love this blue with red hem and the birds are as beautiful on every cw-- good luck with the emerald one-- I am sure now you will have many eyes helping you look!
Next summer I am going to go down to the beach in a mariniere and wearing my Rocaille and replicate this lovely scarf on site photo as best I can @Croisette7-- your collection of all these is fantastic.
Hellloooo everyone - apologies for my absence!
But I’m back with a beauty!
I’m not sure I’m absolutely on topic - but I’ll try - Les Ailes de Pegase

Congratulations on your beautiful new scarf-- that lovely cw makes it look just like a drawing by the Old Masters. Gorgeous @Cookiefiend.
My instrument "of choice" for which I received the award (as lead alto for 4 years in the Notre Dame Jazz Band) was (and is) the alto saxophone. I've also played the baritone sax, the clarinet and the flute.
Well I am a big fan of all your instruments @hermesguy-- my Dad played alto sax and clarinet as well. When I was a child in Venezuela I used to often listen in on rehearsals at a Jazz Club he played in... wonderful memories!

Wow! I love your original version so much @Stylehound-- this scarf seems so "you" and perfect with your accessories. Thank you for a great post and fun background information.
The MT Cut is fabulous and I agree that @Nomad shouldn't get rid of all black. Thank you for your kind words. There is a big ocean between my mom and me so no scarf sharing and I think Cosmos is one of her favorites.
Thank you @Maedi-- long distances are bridged more easily now with technology but still... it is an actual ocean
It has been an extremely informative week for me. So many new things to learn! And thanks to @LKBNOLA I now know that my Early America is a reissue because Mr. and Mrs. Washington are presiding in the middle of my scarf

Ooooh that is such a pretty one @Katharina Luise and so perfect for your coloring. I like the little figures and am looking for ward to wearing President George and First Lady Martha on our President's Day next month!

With thanks to @xincinsin and continued wishes for recovery I am going to conclude the week with Brides de Gala. @Coco2606 started off with this design and @Croisette7 just added three to my wish list with her post of yesterday too! I love the symmetry, the iconic nature, the recognizable shapes always present in every iteration. So with the assistance of my small model and helper here are: BdG Finesse, Fleuries, Marble Silk, Perforé, Twilly Bayadere, Cotton Charm 70, Brides et Destin, BdGxColete, and finally BdG Shadow.
BdG Collage.JPG
Daiske Nomura's design Brides et Destin is the latest "riff" on BdG. It depicts harnesses, and there are three rather than two, but there is no question of the reference to Brides de Gala. Here's the website description:
"Have you heard of Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos? They are the Moirai, three sisters from Greek mythology, three figures of destiny known to the Romans as the Parcae, and in English as the Fates: the Spinner, the Allotter and the Inflexible. They are generally associated with cosmic cycles, as well as with the goddesses of nature and fertility. Daiske Nomura has designed a harmonious composition with contemporary overtones based on harnesses adorned with insignias that he discovered in the Emile Hermès collection. Each equipped with their harness, the three sisters are set for a spiritual and vivacious ride." Of course it is Nomura, of C'est la Fete and Chorus Stellarum fame so this design also has his trademark reference to mortality...

This is a detailed, dramatic and versatile design. I very much like how it seems both contemporary and classic H! My twin @mktlim showed a lovely mod shot of hers this week. Here's mine worn as a top:

Versatile and striking reissues! Your styling of each of the scarves is superb!
Your little model is a natural! The best colours on her!
I love your Brides et Destine and how you wear it. You are so right in saying that it looks classic and contemporary. With the black background emphasising the subtleties of blue and yellow, and the diversity of details it’s simply amazing!
