Well, it’s not really on theme, but the gris chine background is a neutral, and so is my navy shirt. As Coco has so aptly demonstrated, purple can be a neutral, too . SOTD Les 12 leopards on a cold day.

Gorgeous - a very serene and soft look!
My first Twilly EVER on her inaugural appearance in Mexico Ciiy. En Liberte.

The perfect jaunty twilly!
Good morning. In spirit of this week’s theme my sotd is my probably most neutral, and I always bring it when travelling, as it goes well with a lot of colours, and even patterns. Actually, I Think I last wore it on a trip to Paris, which really makes me want to go again! Washington’s Carriage; take me away!
Have a wonderfull day everybody.

And so gorgeous on this dress!
(also - could I just tag along on your trip to Paris? Take meee toooooooo!)
Another good neutral colour is sky blue. A classic that needs to be revived a little especially for Winters. View attachment 5738872
For today, a touch of pink (good look) and leather (bad girl) and you're done!

Fabulous look!
I love seeing the colors that are 'deemed' winter - there always seems to be wiggle room! I am your twin with this scarf and I do find the lighter blue in this very cool in tone, but so nicely warmed by the pink tones.
My new to me La Rosee, in fairly neutral white and blue. I adore @Cookiefiend ’s changeant moussies in this design, maybe one day I’ll find one!

Before purchasing this scarf I was casually browsing images from the FW2008 thread, this design was just one of several standout designs that season, I now have an even longer wishlist :giggle:

ohmygosh - so beautiful!
(how bad is this confession - I often forget this came in a 90 silk...)

Wonderful introduction and peek at your fabulous collection for this week of neutrals @Cookiefiend, J'aime ton Carré! ;)

Last week started with me breaking my laptop (10 inch drop off a stool onto a concrete floor did it in) and ended with me nearly losing my backup laptop to a full steaming hot cup of coffee that spilled all over me but missed my machine. The middle was all work and too little silk.

This week I'm going to embark on a some sort of Work Correction Program = tranquility.
Faubourg Tropical 140, encre and gris.

Beautiful shawl and beautiful and special pendant/gift-- I recognized the Hamsa and the evil eye reference! What a lovely thing for DH to have done. I am your scarf sister on this in the pink @EtsyBoss-- it is also a neutral to my mind but "reads" so differently!
Hello dear scarfing amigas and amigos! Thank you @Cookiefiend for the delightful introduction. Neutrals isn’t my forte at all:smile:) While I have a small collection of black and white scarves, I rarely wear silk in winter. I have to pull a few neutral oatmeal and gris de chine shawls this week out, but for now this is the shawl I wore last night to dinner - Appaloosa in my fav CW (I also have the exact same CW in 90 - how crazy is it?).. I love the design, the color combo (so rich and lush and alive!) and it drapes like a dream - whichever corner you like to highlight! Just looking at it makes me happy - Alice Shirley at her best IMHO. Happy Sunday everyone!

What a wow of a shawl and your mod shots are always so beautiful @Ashanti_Rose!
This is gorgeous scarf @LKBNOLA! I don't think I had seen this CW in 90, only cashmere. I have this design in cash - but bright and colorful - I love how it drapes!! Also - would you be so kind to show a tutorial on how you did your first knot? Looks so interesting! You are one master knotter!!! And glad you are feeling better - it is amazing what a scarf and a little lipstick can do:smile:
Thank you, I will get to the tutorials soon but I learned this easy to do drape/knot from an instagrammer (@YooJune)-- if you know Mai Tai's version of the origami knot, this is that idea with folds instead of pleats. I don't like it tight so I added the Mors for extension. I am happy you liked it!
This CW is so beautiful and is perfect for your coloring and your wardrobe. Congratulations on a grail acquisition. Love the way you tied it too!
Hope you feel better soon LKB, your lucky scarf acquisition looks great on you.
Thank you to @Cookiefiend and @Karenska (vanishing quotes!) and to @MsMarzipan and @paula24jen-- I am on the mend!
SOTD (not on theme, sorry...even purple is a basic color and kind of à neutral in my wardrobe)

What a lovely variation on the two scarf tie @Coco2606-- beautiful color on you.
This is a fabulous find. If I remember correctly, it’s based on old German/Bavarian drawings. You found the best color way IMO. I hope you feel better. Winter has a strong grip this year.
Yes, thank you -- somewhere I cut and pasted the "story behind" for reference, but I do feel so lucky to have chanced on this cw! And thank you-- yes, winter has felt interminable and now we are having another storm here...

Beautiful-- your Northwest light is so different @Lellabelle-- the gris chine looks quite light and the colors brighter too. I adore this cute and sassy design which ties so beautifully (yet we know those kitties are lolling around in the bookcase!)

Wow-- this ia beautiful mixing pattern and scarf color and you have such a wonderful brooch collection also @HermesEchidna! I love the combination of grey and yellow/pumpkin/orange colors. Something H does really well...

This is beautiful @paula24jen! Congratulations on your lovely find. I frequently troll the old threads to educate myself on missed seasons, cws, designs etc and it is perilous indeed for the Wish List! I am going to petition the Scarf Fairies for two La Rosee changeant moussies on our behalf... :winkiss:

Bonjour, everyone. I am fighting my natural tendencies for this week to turn out like a paraphrase of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's sonnet (How do I Love Thee/Let me count the greys) by pairing some of my favorite "neutrals" with different top options other than the go-to charcoal, heather or pewter. Today's SOTD is Jardin a Sintra having a playdate with a soft teal sweater instead.

Love this combo! The warm toned grey is so versatile, I would think this goes with everything ;). The teal hem is stunning and these colours are SO flattering on you! @LKBNOLA :)

Beautiful-- your Northwest light is so different @Lellabelle
It really is, especially at this time of year! I know the phone camera ‘corrects’ colour and light balance automatically too, which probably emphasizes the effect. The biggest difference is actually in the boutique: in my rare visits I find the lighting so yellow that it is actually very misleading for how it will look outside.

For years I wore khaki pants several times a week, with about every color top that I owned. A true neutral and probably my favorite neutral color. I picked up this silk medium Blason losange in kaki last year thinking that it would also go with just about everything.

Blason.jpg

Today I'm pairing it with similar neutrals, that I think of as being on more of the olive green or brown side. They are two of my other favorite neutral colors.

I figure a good approach to finding your best neutral scarf in the scarf drawer is to look for the one that goes with the maximum number of pieces in your closet. So here’s my workhorse neutral, today gallantly protecting my complexion from washout by my nicely tailored but pallor-producing asymmetrical blazer.

I bravely went pale on pale yesterday and looked so washed out. You are very wise not to go there. Beautiful outfit.

ETA : Now that I look at your scarf some more, I do spot some pale white in there.
