I'm celebrating the Queen's love of horses and dogs today. The scarf is Les Poulains by Xavier de Poret, featuring beautiful drawings of thoroughbred mares and foals. The Queen has raised, bred and raced horses throughout her life. The corgi stuffed toy was adopted by me at the gift shop during a visit to Balmoral Castle in 2019, the Queen's home in Scotland. She also bred and raised Corgis and enjoyed the companionship of her dogs all her life.

In honour of QE II's Diamond Jubilee today's scarf is Les Tambours. Not only is it the FIRST Hermes scarf I ever bought (the start of a long slide down a slippery slope....) I am twins with my scarf sister too.

Oh my goodness, Srpthorn, not only are we twins with Les Tambours, but it was my very FIRST Hermes scarf purchase as well! I love the photo of Queen Elizabeth; I had never seen it. That makes the three of us triplets!

SOYD was Dieu et mon Droit, and today a recent scarf mail, Fleurs d'Ecosse - with a very natural tartan look...

Wonderful. Thank your friend for all the pictures. I see Hermes had other scarves there as well. Now, I see that I need to plant a tree for the jubilee. I will be planting it in the US, of course.:smartass:

O
Happy Friday everyone - I hope you’re enjoying the day - it’s absolutely beautiful outside today!
And it’s so green!
Which brings up a fabulous scarf, so delightfully green and chock-a-block with astonishing, lifelike details.

awe this is so cool to see how you came across this beauty. Love the excitement and laughter between you two
Yesterday I wore British Heraldry in honor of the Queen's Jubilee. The stone ribs of the Gothic tracery reminded me of skeletal illustrations in Gray's Anatomy.

SOTE and continuing my daily tribute to Her Majesty the Queen, during her ‘PlatJub’, as my DH calls it . And hopefully staying on theme, too.
Thursday and Friday I highlighted Queen Elizabeth’s passion for horses and dogs. Today my tribute is to the magnificent literary tradition she was born into, specifically, England’s greatest poet and dramatist, William Shakespeare. He lived and wrote during the reign of an earlier Queen, another great monarch and Elizabeth II’s namesake. A Midsummer Night's Dream was written around 1595 or 1596, and one theory, though there is no proof, is that he wrote it for Queen Elizabeth I in celebration of the Feast of St John. Acte III with two different brooches, a SS Plique a Jour dragonfly, and a Wedgwood and gold Grecian fairy, both appropriate to the themes in a MSND. I chose to wear the white sweater and dragonfly. Also, this design filled with trees and woods is my way of celebrating the Queen’s Canopy, a tree-planting effort throughout Britain that Hermès-Paris is donating proceeds from the sales of the Special Edition Voitures Exquises.

And Titania was a Queen, too!
