My first fumble with the snail knot. My main problem was that the folds kept getting undone. I'll try this again with other scarves. Would softer or stiffer be better, I wonder? Would a plisse work with this knot?
View attachment 4998361
And emboldened by this non-disaster, I tried a knot which the Synergy Life lady did in another video. She used a 70cm scarf. I had to use a 90, so she must be very petite!

Which number knot of the Synergy video is this @xincinsin? I just had some happy scarf mail today (Swinging St Germain in the white and black with red shoe and hem) and the hem is so pretty I would love to attempt a knot like this one! It looks wonderful. Thank you for the inspo.

One of my favorite knots is @MaiTai Criss-Cross Bow Knot, which is very similar to the Half Bow Knot that @Yoon daily scarf showed us. Traditionally, this knot begins with a bias fold, but I start out my variation with the scarf folded as a triangle. I place that triangle over my shoulders with the point in the back. Then, I follow all the other steps of the Criss-Cross Bow Knot. Finally, I arrange the back point to one side. Depending on how high or low, or loose or tight, it can look different each time. Here are some examples...

Oh I love your infinity knot, it showcases the giraffe of LMZ very beautifully! And I like the color contrast between black and orange. So stunning and chic... :loveeyes:Thanks for sharing the URL of the tutorial, I just tried it for running few errands with my boys! :panic:

Amazing! I am going to try this with my ITCW-- always looking for ways to "tame" that beautiful scarf!

I would like to share my Scarf of the Day. This amazing Tous les Bateaux de Monde arrived this afternoon and I pranced around in it for the rest of the day, I am so thrilled with it. Here are a few knots I quickly tried, finally settling on @Yoon daily scarf Snail Knot which I took out shopping with me.

This is spectacular-- so many beauties and they all look wonderful with your knot variation. Can't wait to try!

@Yoon daily scarf
@Bova123 gave a short description of the BFK (Bova's Fat Knot) in post 4195 (page 280): " I simply keep the shawl in its' rectangular shape from the box, fold it over again lengthwise to an even narrower rectangle, and then tie in the classic weave knot."
After that, several scarfies did variations of it.

Oh thanks a lot, dear @xincinsin !!! I was searching the keyword of 'BFK' or 'Bova's fatty knot' or 'fatty knot' but couldn't find the original tut. You've solved my question! I'll search for variations too! :hbeat:

Ooooh! That’s lovely and looks easy. Necessary for moi. Going to try it!

speaking of easy here’s another go to for me, especially in winter with a turtleneck. So warm... just bias fold, wrap around neck, and tie ends in a hacking knot.
Les Ailes:

View attachment 4998542

Wow I love your Les ailes!!! Such a beautiful shades of green  You're to-go knot seems so pretty and useful in many situations! And it's good for cold weather too... Thanks for sharing, dear @Pirula!

Incredible. Just incredible - I love these colors!

So. Pretty!

Tres chic - and perfectly knotted!

I think these both look great!

A beautiful classic - love the green!

Frankly - I think these are the best tutorials I've ever seen - HONEST!!
(good heavens - even I understand them... that's saying a lot! :giggle:)

Thank you sweetheart! :hugs:
It is Ex Libris en Kimonos.

So gorgeous - congratulations!

Beautiful! Thank you for showing us it can be done with a 70 too... and that double bow is so pretty!

Marvelous, wonderful tutorial, thank you!!

Oh how sweet of you to say so! Many thanks to tou, dear @Cookiefiend  I'm so delightful that you like my humble tutorials. You made my day!! :hbeat:

Thank you kindly Yoon! Your ITCW looks fantastic that way! It's such a great way to show a fair amount of design without stuff "getting in the way".

Looks great both times! And MP shows off really well this way with the pretty blue contrast hem!

Thank you Croisette!

ooooh- that menthol and blue is delicious together!

You drew pictures!!! :faint:

Thank you missmabel- it really is! And you are so very welcome! It's a great resource in there.

Thank you kindly Karenska! :hugs:

oooooh Chiff- virtual hugs! :hugs:

Congrats! What a beautiful choice for you!

That Toucans really shines worn this way, and against that fab vest!

I'll try to do a tut for it in the library...

Yes- this is me too! A simple and easy knot. Beautiful colors in your Ailes!

Thank you Cookie!

I appreciate it, dear @bunnycat :hugs:

I fell in love your infinity knot! As you know, I tried it yesterday, and I was so happy that the shape was maintained even though I ran around the park with my boys! :yahoo: It's very important thing for me as a mother of two little rascals

Oh And I'd really appreciate it if you could do make BFK tutorials!!!! I'm searching for it but still not sure that I understand it correctly.. Thank you so much!!

Oh my gosh! That looks so pretty, so complicated, but it’s so easy! I love it! This is the sort of thing that makes scarves such a great accessory...you can do things with them that makes them feel entirely different and makes them work for any style outfit, unlike almost any other type of accessory. I wish I had known this earlier and not been so intimidated by them. Plus they bring the eye to your face...a major plus for anyone whose body is less than model perfect (like mine)... and the colors in it can let you wear any color top, but still have only flattering colors near your face!

Thank you for sharing these videos and this knot style!

Thank you so much, dear @BowieFan1971
I agree with you, scarves are ultimate accessories. And as you said, I've been able to try clothes of various colors since I fell in love with scarves! I think it's so great to let bright colors into our life

So many beautiful scarfs!

Thank you dear @Naessi ! It's not as wonderful collections as you scarf ladies have. Collecting beautiful silk is so delightful thing for me

I wore this yesterday for a scarfie zoom meetup, but posting today because the knot was pretty cool. I don’t know what it is, but with moussies you just wrap and fluff. View attachment 4997549
Stunning momasurus.
One of my favorit knots is this one: sometimes with, other times without a scarfring.View attachment 4997566View attachment 4997567
Both are beautiful Pampelmuse.
What a great intro @Yoon daily scarf! I love your snail knot and am going to try it and report back! It’s beautiful!

I’m not a clever knotter. I usually either just chuck it on, or copy shamelessly from the more creative. The recently discovered BFK knot of @Bova123 is a good one!

Two of my favorites are the suuuuper simple bias fold, wrap around and tie, as with yesterday’s SOTD, Dans un Jardin Anglais:

View attachment 4997610

Another I like is to do an oblong fold and then just shove the corners through a scarf ring. Never know what you’re going to get:

Atélier Robert Dallet, L’Ombre des Pivoines, and Domes Celestes.

Oh and here is my most recent BFK, avec Cheval Phoenix. I definitely need to practice!

View attachment 4997617
Another beauty.
I made a quick tutorial of my last knot for you, dear @Cookiefiend :hugs:
I named this one as ' Chain D'Ancre snail knot' :giggle:

1. Make a triangle fold, and pleats it
(It's the same beginning as the video tutorial)
And fold it to half.
View attachment 4997618

2. Pull one side of the fold gently
through the one hole of Chain D'Ancre scarf ring
View attachment 4997637

3. Place your ring on the half of the fold.
(Nevermind the corner of triangle,
we will adjust it later.)
View attachment 4997620

4. Place your scarf on your neck
View attachment 4997621

5. Pull the one tail (I choose the one located below) through the empty hole of the Chain D'Ancre ring

View attachment 4997622

6. And tie a knot with the another tailView attachment 4997639
View attachment 4997624
And tie a knot once more!View attachment 4997625

I mean, tie a simple knot twice for fixation. ;)
And adjust it please.

7. Pull the corner to downward.View attachment 4997640

8. And spread it.
View attachment 4997641

9. Adjust your drapes!

9-1. You can make the shape of the drapes neatly by holding the part where the drape starts
with the thumb and index finger of one hand, (A)
and then hold the right next to it with the thumb and index finger of the other hand.(B)
And move it (B) gently along the drape as if closing the Zipper lock! I'll take this instruction picture next time.

9-2. In this picture, I'm combing the folds with my fingers haha:graucho: It's another drape adjusting method that I like to use.
View attachment 4997642

10. Then, it's done!
View attachment 4997629

Hope it helps you!
I'm not so good at making tutorials.. but I did my best
Oh I wish I had one more arm so I could take a video..

Well done Cookie! Great vibrant scarf.
Much gratitude to our savvy knot miester-YSD for sharing this snail knot. :yahoo:

Two of my favorites... The pink Baobab is a dream... it’s those irregular dots and lines... ties so beautifully
Thank you so much fifi.

Thank you so much, @Yoon daily scarf for the wonderful introduction to this week’s theme. It will be such a fun and informative week...
For the past couple of days on Instagram, I’ve shared pictures and info about one of my favorite 70cm scarves.. Quadrige Costumé. I own this fabulous design in two similar CWs. I don’t own many 70s, but do like wearing them and I shared some different knots made with them. Since my two CWs work well together, I also enjoyed tying them together to create more voluminous and complex knots.
The first pic below shows both of my CWs folded together. Then, some knots with each of the scarves wearing a navy top. The last three knots were created tying the two scarves together

I previously posted that I would put all the references of my knots this week. This knot is so famous and I think many of you scarf ladies already know how to do it... But to keep my promise, I recommend dear Maitai's tutorial! I love her wonderful knots always.

And, I'll post my 'Double Half Bow Knot' tutorial. it's a humble tutorial as usual, but hope you like it!

+) Oh and does anyone know the tutorial URL of BFK? I fell in love with BFK when I saw @Pirula 's beautiful knot, but I don't know how...:panic: I really want to try it, too! Please let me know if you know how. I really appreciate if you can help me! ♡
Dear Yoon daily scarf, you give me heart palpitations, in a good way. I love your wardrobe of scarves, CWs and beautiful knots. I learned so much in a couple days. I appreciate the extra references, videos and lovely tutorials.

If the first bow(A) and second bow(B) are fixed together with one rubber band, the bows may be loosened when you adjust your knot at final step. I recommend that you fix the first bow(A) only with the rubber band!

+) And you can make this knot without Chain D'Ancre scarf ring! Instead of fixing the knot with the scarf ring, you can make a simple knot and loosen it and pull the bows through it!

Fabulous! This used to be my ”go to“ knot but I’ve not used it in a long time. I love how it looks with a 70. I recently removed this same colorway of Touscans and it makes me miss it......but I do have the pink colorway and will try this knot tonight! I think it really shows off the feathers.

Thanks a lot, dear @MAGJES  I love making this knot with 70 too. The short knot feels more cheerful ♡ Oh I'm looking forward to your half bow knot with pink Toucans de Paradis! Can't wait to see :yahoo:

Hi !! Just had the most wonderful DHL delivery all the way from Moscow, and wanted to share. Introducing my newest samourai colorway. I put it on immediately and rather think it works with this yellow sweater. I’m in love with it. I even tried a knot I saw on Instagram this past weekend ! I think my regate ring is too small so I’ll try again later this week with a larger one. Thanks for letting me share, and hope you’re all doing well.

Ooooh, came out beautifully! Love this CW

Fumble? I think they look marvelous!

Love this CW of Eperons, which I also am happy to own... Classic!

Great explanations!

Gorgeous Chiff!

Oh, so beautiful on you!

I love this knot which I first learned from MaiTai but your variation is wonderful. Hate to slow down the thread, but I don’t quite get the point on the second or third step where bow fans out into two? How do you do that? Looks so beautiful with all of the scarves. Just adore how the Toucans and JQ looks on you

Such a marvelous design

A timeless classic

Just love this clever variation! I must try it!

Fabulous!

I am your twin on the Regina and this is my fav CW of the design... great with this knot

Congrats on scoring this masterpiece... looks fabulous with this top! I am your twin on this CW which is one of the most sublime scarves that I own. Perfect on you!

Love this design so much! It is fascinating, and wonderful in this CW

Love the second bow with the sun showing in front

Thanks a lot, dear @Living.la.vida.fifi !! Oh I made the first bow and fixed it with rubber band, and then, make another loop for 2nd bow in front of fastened 1st bow. To make another loop for 2nd bow, I tried few drawings (sorry that I'm not talented to it..) Hope it helps!

Thanks a lot dear @LKBNOLA !! ITCW is the best scarf among my Alice Shirley's designs. I'm looking forward to see your beautiful infinity knot with ITCW!
