Scarves Scarf of the Day 2021 - Which Hermès scarf are you wearing today?

Spectacular, Lanit! Soooo beautiful. Oh, I just love Robert Dallet’s exquisite art!!

Magnificent! I so covet yours that the best available way to emulate it was with my carre wash

Many thanks fifi! It is truly a divine silk, and I thought it might be impossibke to care for. Turns out to be not so precious, just have to remove when dining out. Once it blew up on a windy day and fortunately my lip color was light colored and mixed in with the animals hehe. It came right out on the gentke hand wash with a dab of Dawn liquid soap.

Two of the most celebrated and classic artists that depict the natural world employed by Hermes are Hubert de Watrigant and Kermit Oliver.

I own four designs by Hubert de Watrigant. Since he is especially known for his depiction of horses, I will show those scarves and omit my Carnaval de Venise...

One of my very favorite Alice Shirley designs, Appaloosa des Steppes, in canard/framboise/marine. I read in a 5/17/18 article in Homes and Interiors of Scotland that Ms Shirley was inspired to create this design because of one theory that the American Appaloosa descends from wild spotted horses in Kyrgyzstan. There is a film that I need to stream called True Appaloosa by Conor Woodman that chronicles a NZ Appaloosa breeder and horsewoman’s trek to the Asian Steppes to research her theory that the breed entered NA via the Bering Strait. It’s absolutely fascinating and I look very forward to seeing it. Behind this leaping boy (I’ve decided he’s male; I have named him Azamat, which means “majesty” or “glory”) are the geometrically arranged ancient tribal patterns of Shrydak rugs, created by kyrgyz women who felt, cutout and hand-sew the wool used to make these gorgeous rugs. I played around with my (3) Baobab Cat scarves recently. I’m always trying to find a way to wear it that shows the wild cat but no luck today. Beautiful colors on a white shirt.

I had no idea this green was so pretty. I love it!

I love this design. I always hope one wil pop up somewhere and I snag it for my own! I’ve never seen it in orange!
I really like doubling my scarves like this around my neck so they do not hang low. I feel it gives it a casual look.

Thank you, magjes. They do pop up now and then. There is also a sweet gavroche, which I have in blue/white.

I heartily endorse an adoption, Awillow! It’s like having a parttime wild cat in your home. I find it the sweetest contradiction that these supremely indolent creatures that sleep 15 hours a day in the lap of luxury become the most fearsome carnivore when on the hunt. With their flexible bodies, quick and lithe movement and speed, nocturnal eyesight, excellent sense of smell (not canine level but excellent, nonetheless), they are nature’s perfect hunter. Checking out the wildlife in the deep blue sea with my new-to-me Grands Fonds. I have been watching for this Annie Faivre design for a while now, and was delighted to receive it in yesterday's scarf mail. Freshly washed and ironed and deperfumed.
