One of the grails I tracked down this year after sitting on the fence way too long. A major undisclosed flaw and a no return policy, but at least I didn't break the bank for it and samourais is so busy, it is easily disguised. I love it nonetheless.View attachment 5281920
Oh, my, it is lovely, Awillow. :eek:The colors suit you so well. I loooove it! Congratulations, flaw notwithstanding. It has a home :hugs:.

Good evening Scarflandia!!!!

Dropping in real quick with a 2022 (!!!) preview for y'all!

Team Scarf Mistress is putting the final touches and clean up on the upcoming calendar and I will be posting the impending 2022 thread soon!

But, for now, here's a little sneak peek at the beginning of January theme so you have some time to plan. Once I've crafted my (generally, not so) eloquent opening, I'll hash out more about the over-all theme for 2022 which, as always, we try to optimize for maximum ease of participation.  More later....

So enjoy this topic preview and buckle your seatbelts for this upcoming weekend.

:dothewave:

Itsy Bitsy 2022 Preview:

02 Jan 2022 Get the Party Started: Let’s celebrate with our happiest scarves!

And then??????? ........
Yay!!! So excited for next year!

Hello dear scarfies, Happy New Year! I've been laying low lately but do stop by regularly to admire the wonderful parade of beauties here. My fave acquisition of 2021 is Index Palmarum CSGM. I just love a good neutral!

View attachment 5282242
I had somehow not seen or noticed this one and must say it is fabulous! So wearable!

If Jan Bajtlik pulled me off Ban Island, Alice Shirley prevented my return.

I have spent the year boosting the presence of Alice Shirley in Ye Olde Scarf Drawer. Still a ways to go, as I am not opposed to multiple colorways of the same design.

Space Derby is a must and you have maximized the hem’s brilliant graphics with this knot… Your collection of Grand Theatres is truly amazing! And, I adore that CW of the GP maxi twilly, a format that I wish to add to my collection

This is such a pretty twilly, Xincinsin, and one that would make the grade for me. It looks adorable with your CCdL. I, too, am very selective with twillies and have a couple that no longer work because they are just not what I look for in twillies now, which is great pops of color and designs that stand on their own in that small strip format. Thank you for the compliment on my Kuna Peuple twilly; as many of you may remember, it’s my favorite twilly. Here’s another favorite, purchased this year from Fashionphile for a very decent price. I adore this beauty.

Still doing holiday gatherings. Today I see my beloved aunt and cousin for lunch and gift-giving, tomorrow a visit with my brother and Friday a get-together at my home for a brunch and mimosas. I can’t wait to have some down time to go through all my H acquisitions and post for this week’s final theme!
Love them both, especially the Kuna.. Can’t wait to see the rest of your eye candy

These are incredibly beautiful, Moma, especially the maroon cw. We are format sisters with this design: I have it in a plisse. Y’all are slaying me, BTW.

What a gorgeous plisee! Love the pink on pink!

this morning with Zabavushka

What an extraordinary Zaba! So dramatic!

One of the most enjoyable adventures for me this year was exploring new formats. I had a very rigid "90 or bust" mentality coming into tPF but thank goodness, y'all tempted me out of that foolishness. I bought a plisse and tried @turfnsurf's wonderful tutorial. All went really well until I tried to make a tiny adjustment and the scarf went all slinky on me! @Karenska's always look beautiful too. Here is my new-to-me Dancing Pearls with a pearl scarf ring and "a la Turf" :winkiss:
View attachment 5282477View attachment 5282478
Wow! Dancing Pearls works so well as a plisee! It is gorgeous and you’ve tied it to perfection. Would you be able to point me t some good tutorials? I need to master this style

Inspired by @bunnycat and @Cookiefiend, I acquired this La Rosee this year. View attachment 5282498
Aaaah! Sublime! Please tell me it was you who bought this one from TRR! I was hoping it would be one of us Scarfies!

I made a resolution this year to post daily on this forum. It has been a most educational experience. For one thing, I have found that when I know I will be wearing certain designs, I get really excited. Today is one of those days, and Appaloosa des Steppes is the design. I own two colorways, and I wouldn't mind more. This scarf works with many colors and in all seasons.

A new format for me, the 55 cm Bandana, and I love it, a bit more silk than the gavroches to play with. SOTD was Les amoureux de Paris.

Aaah! This is a style I have yet to try! It looks amazing and I am in love with this beautiful neutral

Begging your indulgence as I excitedly post some mod shots of my beautiful new Ombrelles et Parapluies-- 100% inspired, enabled and facilitated by our amazing Croisette. :flowers: :flowers: I wanted an umbrella themed scarf and when I saw this on her I knew I must hunt for it! She pointed me right in the direction of the H forest where it lurked. It is just exactly like wearing Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party around your neck-- including a man in a straw boater hat! This kind of experience is one of the very real joys of Scarflandia...

My first scarf of the Fall/Winter 2021 collection was La Danse Pacifique. Since I cannot resist Toutsy feathers, I just purchased another CW of this design which has not arrived yet. It hopefully will so that I can post it this week.
E0B5E3FA-9613-490C-A793-5EE0F9979AC8.jpeg

And, speaking of Toutsy feathers, I also added yet another CW of Flamingo Party CSGM to my collection. It was BNWT at a fabulous price, so I couldn’t resist.
70D1A1F4-E50C-40B6-AD87-A000A11BA788.jpeg

Since Flamingo Party is my favorite Toutsy design of all time, I also couldn’t pass up this pareo which is another venture into a new format for me. I just need a bit more practice to tame it into wearable styled
428B21BA-EF36-4BE1-A508-04AAED43A965.jpeg

Continuing with the feather theme, I had regretted not buying the orange CW of Plumes en Fete when it was released and finally scored one by the skin of my teeth. My SA informed me that it was among the last available in the US
900D1595-30FA-44B3-98B1-3E63F4BB638E.jpeg

And, yet more feathers with a Grail I had pursued for a long while and finally found: the glorious Zebra Pegasus in this particular CW

Finally, another Aline Honoré design I had long searched for: Pelages et Camouglages.

When it rains, it pours, for I also found Pelages et Camouflages in mousseline form

Your lovely neutral navy goes perfectly well with plum purple!

You did go to town! Fantastic finds and choices!
TY Bunnycat!
Most of my purchases this year were from the resale market, and mainly of the alternate cw variety. These, however, were designs which I didn't have: Cavalcadour Clair de Lune and a Folklore twilly. My fave purchases this year, which were delivered in the same month. The twilly almost went MIA, as Vestaire refused to accept my address, and I refused to move to a new place just so they could send me a twilly
View attachment 5282317
My rule for twillies, rarely broken, is to buy designs which are unique, not available in other formats, or designs which were adjusted to fit the confines of the twilly format. I broke my rule for this twilly because I really like @Karenska's Kuna twilly and I wanted a bright and happy twilly too.
That’s a fabulous twilly xincinsin!
These are all magnificent and what a collection of Awoos.
Ty maedi!
All wonderful additions! And thanks for sharing your process. Love hearing it from other scarfies. I have no idea how you found the strength in decreasing any Shirley, you deserve an award!! And your apaloosa colors are wow amazing

you are so brave! Even if it is a wonderful cotton. Great colors!

wonderful additions and thanks so much for your thoughts on your process lIke Lkn. It is so helpful to the rest of us. I am most smitten with that epopee on you. Great colors on you! I would enjoy your olivers too, but not at the prices right now.

So gorgeous together!

Soooo many enviable scarves in your collection!! wow swooning. I do so love Shirley. Congratulations! is tyger a silk? And your grrr tie, how’d you do it?

So clever w your tie! And thanks for sharing your process. Very smart
TY Nomad! Tyger is a cashmere - a boutique purchase that didn’t get any air time until this year. And I have no idea how I tied the bear. I recall trying to hide the border and folding all the edges in to make a smaller square.
Dear Croisette, Awillow, LKBNOLA, Sammy, Fifi and Snausages, thank you so much! @Living.la.vida.fifi - it is my second Zabavushka, and no CCP for this design...

Lovely with its orange, blue and green accents, Croisette! And the brooch is picking up the white and gold so nicely!

How lovely, and especially with this pullover! the turquoise and orange go so well together, Awillow!

Perfect knots for each of the designs, LKBNOLA! And I like your new avatar, a reading beauty.

Love those colours, Tlamdang!

You tried almost everything - great collection, Fifi!

A true cliffhanger, Bunnycat - looking forward to the entire schedule!

Wonderful pairing, and this was also on my list, sadly not available here...

totally understandable, and love the CW of your Tyger tyger!

and bright and happy it is! we have had some blunders here, too! My favourite preloved site only offers shipping to pick up points, and with a full time job (and now another lockdown), this is sometimes a bit difficult.

Ah, thank you @Redbirdhermes (I left out Awoooo and JQ from my list) but yes, Under the Waves at a not-ruinous price would be lovely!

Very pretty colors @tlamdang08!

Thank you @bunnycat!

Thank you!

Beautiful-- I love how you tied the Epopee and I adore your moussie @Living.la.vida.fifi. Your KO collection is amazing...

Thank you @Croisette7! (for everything)

Tantalizing @bunnycat!

I believe I remember when you got this @Langsam. It is stunning and perfectly paired with your cable knit top!

Your collection is just fabulous @Snausages. I love each and every one on you and am happy I followed in your Appaloosa footsteps. Now where can I get the earrings?

You are so funny @xincinsin -- I have learned not to wear a scarf while drinking coffee and reading your posts...But in all seriousness that is a great Twilly Principle which I think I will adopt. I have only two so far...never really know what to do with them but tying another scarf looks very pretty.

All so wonderful! I am twins and/or sisters on all but the Kermit Oliver. Like you I would love to add a few other designs of his but they are absurdly expensive...And what a wonderful way to look at "firsts" in your collex!

Thank you so much @Nomad! None of my Shirleys went very far and I had an embarassing number of Mountain Zebras. @Snausages reminded me of Awoooo, which I also have and love!

Thank you so much @Agrume (and I love that little toile vignette!).

Enjoy your busy time @Karenska!

Spectacular pinks @Karenska-- breathtaking.

So so beautiful on you @Croisette7! Thrilled to be twins with you and @Agrume, too. Love the corner with the Matreshka dolls...

Collapsing quotes to thank you for your many sweet remarks and compliments @Karenska!

So happy to be twins on the ZP-- I am re-acquainting myself with it now as it lived in NOLA (the colors are my former Carnival Krewe colors of fuschia and black). My Appaloosa actually post-dates @Snausages. I was debating between 2 cws and Snausages' mod shots convinced me to stick with that yellow hem!

Thank you so much @Agrume. I agree-- it works really well in the "3-D" of plisse!

It is just so beautiful! Congratulations @Awillow, I know you will wear it well...
I tried it yesterday, it is easy tricky! Love it on you, LKBNOLA!
Easy tricky is the perfect phrase for it! (But so great to have the tutorial for this format)
So we‘re the ZABA-trio!
Do you have more cws @Croisette7? I can easily see wanting more as it is such a vibrant and dynamic design...

You are so sweet @turfnsurf -- the tutorial was terrific. The contrast hem makes my plisse more like a cinnamon bun than most, I feel. I think New Orleans lends itself to more brights in my wardrobe-- must be the parade mentality! Everything's a potential costume

Beautiful! Your description is so true. It’s a painting on a museum wall around our necks with certain designs like this one. The people and clothing are so great. Congratulations!
Thank you so much @Nomad! I was thrilled to find it for all those reasons... (the pearl scarf ring was an Etsy find)

Congratulations, Lkbnola, it’s a stunner. So lovely and the Renoir reference is so apt! When I read your comment, I immediately thought of another amazing canvas by Renoir, “Les Parapluies”.

Yes, thank you so much-- of course the title is immediately evocative even though the mood is so different. But I love all things umbrella! I love the way the girl's hoop, the basket handle and the umbrella scallops play off each other in this gorgeous Renoir you have shared...
All lovely, but that AdS is too gorgeous. Such amazing pastels that shine forth against black. Marvelous.
Again, thank you dear @Karenska!
Wow! Dancing Pearls works so well as a plisee! It is gorgeous and you’ve tied it to perfection. Would you be able to point me t some good tutorials? I need to master this style

Thank you so much dear Fifi-- @turfnsurf posted a wonderful tutorial (in my second mod shot) on the How-to thread. And you absolutely need this Ombrelles beauty to pair with your glorious umbrella collex! I wanted it for my NOLA connection to umbrellas and was so delighted to find it. The Watrigant artistry is quite amazing and the center is as charming as the corners.
My first scarf of the Fall/Winter 2021 collection was La Danse Pacifique. Since I cannot resist Toutsy feathers, I just purchased another CW of this design which has not arrived yet. It hopefully will so that I can post it this week.

And, speaking of Toutsy feathers, I also added yet another CW of Flamingo Party CSGM to my collection. It was BNWT at a fabulous price, so I couldn’t resist.
View attachment 5282860

Since Flamingo Party is my favorite Toutsy design of all time, I also couldn’t pass up this pareo which is another venture into a new format for me. I just need a bit more practice to tame it into wearable styled
View attachment 5282861

Continuing with the feather theme, I had regretted not buying the orange CW of Plumes en Fete when it was released and finally scored one by the skin of my teeth. My SA informed me that it was among the last available in the US
View attachment 5282863

And, yet more feathers with a Grail I had pursued for a long while and finally found: the glorious Zebra Pegasus in this particular CW
View attachment 5282862

Finally, another Aline Honoré design I had long searched for: Pelages et Camouglages.
View attachment 5282864

When it rains, it pours, for I also found Pelages et Camouflages in mousseline form

You have added some truly outstanding feathers and "fur" to your collection! Just fabulous @Living.la.vida.fifi. That cw of ZP is gorgeous. The orange PeF was the first one I was given. I have added and changed up several other cws but always kept that one! Now I am happy I did...
TY Nomad! Tyger is a cashmere - a boutique purchase that didn’t get any air time until this year. And I have no idea how I tied the bear. I recall trying to hide the border and folding all the edges in to make a smaller square.

TY Agrume and that bandana is fab - I’ve not yet dipped my toes in those waters

TY LKBNOLA my twin and how did you tie that last knot?!!!!
Your Tyger CSGM is spectacular-- hope to see more of it! I do hope you try the bandana format. I am a big fan and there are some fab designs out there. And the last knot is a friendship knot tied fairly high up with the tails tucked/hidden in the knot. Clever of me, no?
Yes, after a dry 3 years my H dam burst in 2021. This group inspired me to try smaller formats. So I added some 70s, 45s and twillies

Yay!!! So excited for next year!

I had somehow not seen or noticed this one and must say it is fabulous! So wearable!

What an extraordinary parade! Each more spectacular than the next… i am especially smitten by the Tyger and the Canadian Wild is magnificent… They are all truly wonderful, though

Space Derby is a must and you have maximized the hem’s brilliant graphics with this knot… Your collection of Grand Theatres is truly amazing! And, I adore that CW of the GP maxi twilly, a format that I wish to add to my collection

Love them both, especially the Kuna.. Can’t wait to see the rest of your eye candy

What a gorgeous plisee! Love the pink on pink!

What an extraordinary Zaba! So dramatic!

Wow! Dancing Pearls works so well as a plisee! It is gorgeous and you’ve tied it to perfection. Would you be able to point me t some good tutorials? I need to master this style

Aaaah! Sublime! Please tell me it was you who bought this one from TRR! I was hoping it would be one of us Scarfies!

They are spectacular! Truly every single CW of this design is amazing… and gorgeous on you

I have always loved the Detail edition and this is a glorious Cw

Aaah! This is a style I have yet to try! It looks amazing and I am in love with this beautiful neutral

Such a rare beauty! Being umbrellas I feel I also need this design due to my extensive umbrella collection. You have tied it beautifully

It is exquisite!

Just magical! Love them both and Les Mustangs is still on my Grails list
Thank you!

All so pretty, Snausages!

It is just so beautiful! Congratulations @Awillow, I know you will wear it well...

Easy tricky is the perfect phrase for it! (But so great to have the tutorial for this format)

Do you have more cws @Croisette7? I can easily see wanting more as it is such a vibrant and dynamic design...

This is an amazing design on you @Redbirdhermes -- each so different! I admire your resolution, too, posting every day and planning for it...

You are so sweet @turfnsurf -- the tutorial was terrific. The contrast hem makes my plisse more like a cinnamon bun than most, I feel. I think New Orleans lends itself to more brights in my wardrobe-- must be the parade mentality! Everything's a potential costume

This jacquard detail of Neige is particularly beautiful @Croisette7.

I am so happy you are trying this format @Agrume. I love it and have now several I have acquired over the years. They are perfect for in between the gav and the 70. I am your sister on this one! I think this design works so well in this format-- almost better than the 90!

Thank you so much @Nomad! I was thrilled to find it for all those reasons... (the pearl scarf ring was an Etsy find)

Wow @laurenad how perfect with that top! And beautifully tied...Love the "scarf soulmate" concept...

That little plisse loves a lot of different colors @Karenska-- you were not wrong about how fun that format is!

Yes, thank you so much-- of course the title is immediately evocative even though the mood is so different. But I love all things umbrella! I love the way the girl's hoop, the basket handle and the umbrella scallops play off each other in this gorgeous Renoir you have shared...

Again, thank you dear @Karenska!

Thank you, dear. I have a purple Zaba, will post later.

Thank you!

Oh, this is pretty, Agrume! ... Congrats!
Thank you so much, Croisette!

What an uplifting scarf, congratulations, LKBNOLA!

this is so pretty! Wonderful pink

Looks great! The pearl ring is perfection w the design! Bravo

Beautiful! Your description is so true. It’s a painting on a museum wall around our necks with certain designs like this one. The people and clothing are so great. Congratulations!

Woot woot. Congratulation! I knew you wanted this one! It is gorgeous, of course.

:faint: speechless at all this beauty. Congratulations on them!

This is such a great one! Only Hermes could see how great this design would be in a bandanna. I am hoping it might hop on h.com again.
Thank you kindly, Nomad!

Hi all, I’m working remotely until I get boosted and allow it some time to go into effect, which limits my scarf wear. I miss them! So I decided to bust out my scarf soulmate today, purchased this year and it is a true love match. Excuse the poor lighting!

you look great and everything perfectly fits, Laurenad! (and hi, twin!)

Just returned from a seeing my dear aunt and cousin, wearing Joies d’Hiver.

Wonderful scarf parade, and twins on the PeF (my brightest scarf)!

TY Bunnycat!

That’s a fabulous twilly xincinsin!

Ty maedi!

TY Karenska! I can see how inspiring that Luna twilly is! The plisse is wonderful - I’ve not had a soft plisse and may have to correct that

TY Croisette7 - as with most designs I’ve had and rehomed a Zab and am now kicking myself

TY Monteverdi!

TY Awillow and fortunate indeed! That changeant is gorgeous

Ty Momasaurus! The earrings were from a glass gallery and they go with everything!

TY LKBNOLA my twin and how did you tie that last knot?!!!!

Redbirdhermes you are making me crave another Appaloosa!

TY Paula24jen! I could look at EU all day and still find new and fun details

TY Fifi ! If you ever need to rehome that pareo…
