Your arbre de vie is fabulous, Karenska!
What a beautiful quiet look, Tlamdang!

So chic in these soft colours, Snausages!
Beautiful, SusieAugusta!

Both are frighteningly lovely Karenska!
TY Barbette!
It’s beautiful and your boots are divine tlamdang08!
I remember the movie but it would be a shame to cover Johnny Depp with a pumpkin
This is so pretty SusieAugusta!
TY Croisette7!
This ghost story makes this scarf a tad scary LKBNOLA! But it ties so prettily!
The perfect place for listening to a scary tale!
You took the spooky torch and ran with it!Beautiful AuBduM!
@eliwon, in fact the reason I was so drawn to this scarf is that I used to knit a lot when I was younger - even the eight leaf rose (without knowing what it is called). Still knit from time to time and love it. I've seen the scarf with the darker blue, it is very lovely as well. Enjoy it, too!A firm favourite because it resembles knitting stitches and the star which we call an eight leaf rose in our national folk decorating tradition - a pattern I’ve knitted numerous times over the years - mine has a darker blue background - perfect for our winter days - enjoy yours![]()
I still can’t get over how dreamy GTN15 is! Alas my cc is in the freezer until a boutique visit with a friend coming in from out of town (hahahaha unless a grail shows up somewhere- looking for a Tsitsika or Alice Shirleys). Hoping this is in so I can give it a try.
I noticed it’s listed on the bay at well over retail. I swear the second someone mentions a design it magically shows up there at a nutty price
LOL - any screen name of mine is inspired by desperately looking around me for inspo
Your husband narrowly escaped a dread fate!
Beautiful colorway!
Night at the Museum could be considered a ghost story so you’re perfectly on theme!
I’ve been eying this online and thank you for showing how beautiful it is IRL! So much more evocative than their website
Love the knot!!!
You're right, @turfnsurf, thank you!So happily paired
*Vintage artifacts can be spooky... I think you’re on theme
Oooooh, delightfully chilling tale.
Fabulous scarf- you look smashing!
Love the details of artist & scarf - thanks for sharing them both with us![]()
Oh no, @Snausages, I've got this scarf in another cw and didn't know the story behind it. I just thought it was 1001 Arabian Nights and that was it.I got my SOTD as a birthday gift. Loved the thoughtfulness, loved the theme (animal charmer!), loved the colorway. But as I delved deeper into the story behind I was a tad horrified.
This design is inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights night#146 - the story of the birds, the beasts and the carpenter. Sounds good so far! Well the tale is about the evil of man (the carpenter lures a lion into a box then burns the lion alive then captures a duck who doesn’t honor Allah).
Not so charming after all.
But I still love this shawl.

Thank you so much, @LKBNOLA - you are right, I get a headache just thinking I'd have to wear the hat. I prefer the scarf!!!I love your cw of this one @SusieAugusta -- and that lady with the ship on her head is scary if you think of having to actually wear that hat to a costume ball-- THAT would be a horror of a headache!
Taking advantage of J Week to introduce my new-to-me Jeu de Cartes. This design is interesting because the bias fold will show either the black cards or the red cards. I've had it for months, but it never seemed to make my list for the various theme week picks. Today is its day. Showing the Aces of Hearts and Diamonds.

Bless your heartseeing all of your amazing scarves in amazing ties it is hard to believe you ever rehomed scarves due to lack of know-how. This are all gorgeous!
amazing colorway! Wonderful design we don’t see here all that much.
oh I dont remember this colorway. What great autumn colors in it. And yes the gray really sets off the sketchwork drawing in it For lack of a better term bc of course it is refined.

I choose to believe this scarf is about being able to soothe and infuse joy in our four-legged friends!Oh no, @Snausages, I've got this scarf in another cw and didn't know the story behind it. I just thought it was 1001 Arabian Nights and that was it.Since I love that scarf very much, I'll honor the story and still wear the scarf.

I want to abscond with everything in your pareo drawerSlipping in today with some more Js....
Now, Filipe Jardim's Moderism Tropicale didn't really grab me in a 90 silk or even a twilly....but slap this puppy on a giant cotton pareo format and I am hooked. The super casual giant cotton looks great when I twist it up broomstick style, and I feel so very at home with the greenery and jungle representations on it.Here (very early...) this morning with my Monstera plant, which I have moved inside for the winter, sneaking in for a photobomb op.

Great to see a maxi twilly tied like this. inspirational. And I love this design in that format!I am horrified to report that aside from Jan Bajtlik I’m flummoxed with J scarves! Fortunately I have Colliers de/et Chiens in several formats from Virginie Jamin. I could just whip out photos from Multiples Week but I need some guiding hand to pick out what I wear.
So here is a Jamin CdC maxi twilly!
