Thank you, Turf, I wish I could have been more present but being out of town on vacation didn’t leave me with much time. You all carried the day with your wonderfully creative and scary stories and drop-dead gorgeous silks! Thank you so much. I’m still trying to get through; not an easy job, just spent the last two hours and still have about 14 pages to get through, so I’m going to do alot of loves/thanks/wows, etc, and comment sparingly.
Here are a few photos:
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
The Titian Room. The one Titian, The Rape of Europa, that hangs here permanently is with the other companion five paintings comprising the incredible special Titian exhibit that we saw. We could not take flash-free photos of the exhibit itself, but it was ok to take them throughout the rest of the museum.View attachment 5243894

Beautiful intro, Bunnycat, and I do hope you got some sleep. Congratulations on your Panoplie Equestre - it is stunning. And I love your Animapolis MT slim- sometimes I wish I’d gotten that one instead of the 90. I love my 90 but the slim is just a darling amount of silk. Yours looks lovely on you.
J is for the way you jamboree through town:

Thank you kindly Karenska! I'm still gaga eyes over it. LOVE both of your Js! I do adore that CW of Animapolis, and glad I have my 90 in the darker colors, but also happy to have found the bright one in the MTS too.

I am J-adjacent with a K today lol. With Kongo’s graff gav on today for a walk along the water while killing time between kids activities.

Jan Bajtlik’s Animapolis pulled me off my 3-year stay on Ban Island (though in fairness Alice Shirley’s Awooooo! gave me a brief R&R visit to the mainland). My blue Animapolis and Sweet Dreams came from the same scarfie friend; the second Animapolis came from h.com when they seemingly found a corner of their warehouse where the prior year’s designs had been hiding, while the second Sweet Dreams came from another silk sister.
The rest were boutique buys: 600 Chevaux from the men’s section, and two colorways of L’Epopee 70 (the bottom tied with two Bingata twillies).

Not pictured: my Cosmographia CS which will have to wait until the end of the week when it’s back to fall weather (for the next several days it is back to near-summer temps in the 70s)9D72D93B-59E2-4AD1-A4CE-D046646F5D0A.jpeg

:dothewave:

What a completely FANTASTIC week it has been! The scarfies really pulled out all the stops on story time!

BRAVO everyone!!!!

Of course, it's still a little early for Sunday where I am, so I will finish this week off for myself with one last scary tale....

It's 1:53 AM, and I am still awake, waiting for the dreaded TIME to arrive....the dreaded FALL BACK, that so many people love, and I hate. Why??? Why do we do it??? :crybaby: (I hate both time changes to be brutally honest. They mess me up for weeks....)

But while everyone GAINS an extra hour, I do not.... Nope, I don't. Because, for the cats, 7 or 8 AM (feeding time) will now be 6 or 7 AM, and outside potty time will not be 4:30 or 5 AM but 3:30 or 4, until I can work them forward...Their body knows the time, not the clock! So I expect I will be passed out around my usual time to post in the morning. So I am doing it early (...erm...late... )

Now onwards for me. (But feel free to share some more stories too if you like...)

07 Nov 2021 Brought to You by the Letter J: Jan Bajtlik, Jean-Louis Clerc, Joachim Metz, Julia Abadie

This week, we start November (YES! Where did the year go?!?) and start the themes for the eleventh month- 11 Pipers Piping.

Now, we had originally posted on the calendar for artist names beginning with J. But I thought, you know... why not find as much J as we can? So we are expanding this week for Artists with last name J, and scarves that start with J...and you get the idea.

This week bring out your fabby Jungle Love, your Jardin d'Hiver, your Jan Bajtlik, your Virginie Jamin and JUMP in to November with a J!

First up- I promised I would not keep everyone waiting on my fab Sales Goggle scarf from my scary story....

Please meet Virginie Jamin's Panoplie Equestre CSGM! I just love the border here!

And any excuse is always good for Jungle Love.

And now, my Twilight Zone is complete. I started at 1:53 and now it is 1:08....
Great intro, bunnycat. I hear you on the timechange - the spring change is worse for me. Animapolis looks especially swell as a maxi twilly, JL is always scrumptious and your new GM is very regal.

 Love all of these! And of course that Animapolis and Sweet Dreams! (are we really going to have cool weather again at the end of the week??? ???)

Thanks Maedi! Yeah- neither time change is a good one. I end up whacked out for days either direction. I just want to change the time by 1/2 hour and leave it alone all year...

The song, Ghost Riders in the Sky, tells of riders and horses racing across the skies. This image brings to mind the riders racing their chariots across the endless skies in Space Derby. Ugo Bienvenu was inspired by comic books and superheroes for these futuristic and colorful racers. Modern and ethereal Ghost Riders in the Sky.

My SOTD is Space Derby.

Thank you, Karen. Bonus shot of me getting my COVID booster shot today. Space Derby in a true rando knot that is falling out.

Love how you both wore this scarf!! The dark blue makes it regal yet the rainbow hem adds a sprinkle of fun!

My new to me Fantaisie Pittoresque, not at all scary in subject matter but deep black and antique gold so a bit spooky in look.

I didn’t know much about the artist, and I’m pretty sure I don’t have any other scarf by him, so did a bit of research:

François Houtin was born in Craon en Mayenne, France in 1950. He has lived and worked in Paris since 1971. He was trained as a landscape architect, and worked on such prominent projects as the renovation of the Jardin des Tuilleries in 1991. It wasn't until 1973 that he learned printmaking from Jean Delpech, and by 1979 he had become a full-time artist known for his highly detailed prints of utopian gardens. His prints mix equal parts of superb draughtmanship, deep appreciation for the history of Classical French landscape architecture, and his own unfettered imagination.

Love the way you tied this scarf!
I got my SOTD as a birthday gift. Loved the thoughtfulness, loved the theme (animal charmer!), loved the colorway. But as I delved deeper into the story behind I was a tad horrified.

This design is inspired by 1001 Arabian Nights night#146 - the story of the birds, the beasts and the carpenter. Sounds good so far! Well the tale is about the evil of man (the carpenter lures a lion into a box then burns the lion alive then captures a duck who doesn’t honor Allah).

Not so charming after all.

But I still love this shawl.

Lovely color pairing of the shawl with your outfit~
