Good morning Scarflandia! This week we celebrate a our favorite shade of orange (H of course!) and pink!

24 Oct 2021 Sweet Pink & Bright Orange: Cheery scarves against breast cancer and scary monsters

Sweet Pink and Bright Orange
Erm - did you know there’s not much that rhymes with Orange?
I only know terrible puns…
(Though they are lots of fun!)
But then I’d have to run.
Please don’t throw an Orange!

And on a more serious note - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, or even one of us has herself dealt with this. Wearing pink this month is to highlight the importance of awareness, education and research for this deadly disease.

Big or small, Let’s save them all!

A week of Pink,
(Scarves printed in colorful ink)
And the favorite orange of Hermes,
(Oh how that color does blaze)
Protects us from scary monsters that Shriek!
(But not too scary, or I won’t sleep)

This is wonderful @Cookiefiend (a rhyme-less color and a happy one!). I very much appreciate both the fun and the serious sentiment here. And both of your start-off examples are the perfect morning eye candy. A silken sugar-rush with my morning coffee... Can't wait to see everyone's luciousness...

@Julide thanks for your thoughtful response. I didn’t want to quote to create another Franken-mega quote so I’ll just @ you instead. Your rationale makes complete sense and as a newbie to H scarves, I find my own process not as well planned. I sometimes buy because it’s a designer I like or I love the pattern or the colors look great on me and combined. Overall I’d say there’s no real POV to my collection other than I buy what I like that day. I fear this may spell trouble in later years as I fall out of love with pieces. For example - I own 5 plumes en fete (4 90s and 1 CSGM) they are never ever a first choice. Yet, I couldn’t get enough a year ago. Oh dear - live and learn I guess!

I so hear you on this! I have already re-homed two Plumes in the search for the right one. Same with Mountain Zebra. I am trying to really think of a coherent strategy but perhaps it is newness, as you say. A steep learning curve! Hoping it flattens out a bit...

Some archival pinks to start the week off including a shot of my H boutique last spring.

Same here Nola! Perhaps my overall lack of space for more orange boxes will force a market correction. Haha How or where do you do the rehoming? Word of mouth? Seems such hard work but needed. Happy Sunday !

Thank you forever orange!:flowers:

Thank you Pampelmuse:flowers:

Thank you Nahreen:flowers:

Thank You Fifi:flowers:

Wonderful collections Fifi:flowers:

Thank you LKBNola:flowers: there is much whimsy and the multi colors highlight this design, so though I wished I had gotten the amazing neutral this colorful one is truly wonderful:flowers:

Thank you so much Cookie:flowers:

Fabulous!!! The tassels are spectacular on the Tigre!:flowers:

Haven't we been warned about picking a favorite child? I hope this next sentence doesn't damage my little ones psyche:PI do like these two as they compliment each other so well:flowers:

Thank you kindly Foxy:flowers:I think with any season there is something you like and something that is not to your liking. For example after eLeK I didn't purchase more than a handful of scarves ( Most from the mens section ) until Tapis Persan came. Some scarf collectors will find something every season and some will find things every few years. As you become more familiar with your personal tastes you may find that certain seasons are a no go while other seasons your wonder if your credit card will melt:lol:If you have sometime, read back into the older scarf season threads, you find a lot of this very type of information, where each member will go thru their personal rational of each season. I always find it interesting because some collectors are about colors or filling a spot in their collection. Some are about the designers and tend to collect a certain designer, some have very technical ways of picking scarves, for example how they tie, empty spaces ( all very enlightening ) and some are just random, all is so very helpful in trying to find your own processes.:flowers:
Love that Samouraï-Kimono pairing!

And great words of wisdom. It took me a long time before I could shrug at my previous SA and cheerfully declare that I found nothing to buy. Not that she was pushy, in fact she was always reminding me to buy only what I truly loved. Another SA tried to hone my discernment by suggesting I buy only one scarf per season, but I'm afraid that was a goal too far for me. Took me a few years of growing up, but now I don't get swept away by the undertow when I visit the seasonal scarf threads.

Just adding my two cents @Nomad that it is time for you to model and share those Semelles! Even if it is in your pjs! We want to see the scarfs on you!

Thank you so much dear @Croisette7! I honestly didn't know what to do with it when I first received it! Thank goodness for y'all helping me appreciate those pre-TPF gifts...

This is really beautiful with your houndstooth top @ivy1026-- great contrast.

So useful @Nomad-- thanks. I bookmarked to go back as well...

Thank you, dear @MAGJES! And I will let you know how the RdA comes back!

It is a great design-- with or without marble flower applique-- but the multiple makes total sense! Looks great on you @Redbirdhermes -- love that last tie. And your birch tree...

I completely understand -- I somehow ended up with three and re-homed all but the red which was just waiting for me last spsing in the boutique after I had despaired of ever finding one! It is my favorite combination and, like the yellow, has a true black and white zebra! (Am I right about that?-- maybe the brown also...)

Fantastic pattern mixing MAGJES-- proving once again how beautifully you do it-- you have a fabulous eye for what works for each design and color.

HUGE Congratulations on your gorgeous and rare Pytheas, @Nomad-- it is spectacular on you and as you say the hem is TDF on this one! A fantastic addition.

Oh, Cookie! Your moussies-- large and small-- are so beautiful and truly enviable! You have such a gorgeously curated collection! :flowers: I always love seeing your cache cache fleuri-- I think you have the only one of this cw in existence! I keep looking without any luck...

All I can do is reiterate my admiration and pleasure at seeing this @MAGJES-- your sweaters are beautiful backdrops for your scarfs but I alove the soft grey dress with the green hemmed PdS! :girlsigh:

Beautiful multiples @sonozen and I love your twilly organizer!

I understand completely @blydia. It does look lovely on you, but it is best not to keep what you know won't make you feel 100%

:ty: :ty: I love the triangles! And always happy to be your twin!

I just love everything and your modeling shots are not only beautiful but so helpful for those of us running off to search out these beauties! Again, thank you for sharing @Living.la.vida.fifi ... :flowers:

:ty: @Cookiefiend-- agree on the warning suggestion! These posts are often beautiful and sometimes dangerous...

I love each and every on of these @Snausages and it was brave of you to risk upstaging all your silks with your wacky sleeping dog photo

This is really very useful advice @Julide! I am learning so much about the rationale that everyone applies to their collections. And you are right about the seasonal threads-- that is a silken education all of its own to see how and what people choose... And I love your choices!

Beautiful with the red anneau @Karenska! So happy we are twins!
:hugs:

Thank you, @Julide , for your leadership in multiples. As you predicted, it is turning out to be an expensive week for me, with a sixth colorway of Les Artisans on its way, along with my first Pytheas.:hrmm::P

My expectation is Pink and Orange week will be a wee less pricey, as neither color can be said to be a favorite of mine, but under @Cookiefiend ‘s leadership this week will certainly be a parade of glorious goodies.

I try to limit my purchases of orange scarves, but over the past couple of years, a few have slipped into my collection. I’m beginning the week with an orange scarf that is also a multiple of mine, the orange Breitling special edition of Reves d’Espace.

Fab intro cookie! I have just started to “come over” to the pink side.:giggle: A couple of archive photos of pinks. Including the most unusual roses that matched quite a few of my fav scarves and my favourite corner of the SE FT:flowers:DAB89E28-0998-4721-8B95-58FF8E017F54.jpeg47238420-6FA4-4783-BC11-98616325B607.jpeg0C4DB341-6DEB-4915-9DD1-56266AFA3F3A.jpeg

And I had to include the bouquet. It was so beautiful! Though next time I won’t wait until the flowers are ready to drop to take the photo!!:flowers:

Thank you, Cookie. I think that planning out my outfits and scarves is an exercise that helps fill a need in my brain since I am no longer a corporate employee. I am by nature a puzzle solver, and this amounts to solving little daily puzzles. I loved the Couvee week, for example, but every theme presents it’s challenges.

Thank you, Nomad! That sweater us an aran knit from Ireland in a most gorgeous royal purple. I have so many beauties that work with it, too.
And congratulations on your spectacular Le Voyage de Pytheas, my very favorite cw. That hem is stunning against the blanc, beiges, greys and light blues. Well worth the wait as it crossed the deep blue sea on it own voyage. Here’s mine, which I love, as well. Trying to pick up the red journey markers with a red anneau.

Thank you kindly LKBNola, what a very kind thing to say.:flowers:
