Happy scarf Friday! Such fabulous collections posted so far this week. I am today wearing PdS in pale pink.
View attachment 5229726
I usually don´t buy multiples, and this is so far my only exception because I just loved the design. From my archive I also have the bright pink and one of the CSGMs. So happy to be twins with LBKNOLA, MAGJES and Nomad.
View attachment 5229729View attachment 5229730
So wonderful with pink!:flowers:
I realized that I lied about not having duplicates, forgetting about my Maharani family! To my defense, they are different formats and have very different vibes so in my brain they don’t cluster.
Maharani recadré CSGM (actual SOTD as I‘m going downtown to get my hair done the first time since June 2020 :yahoo: also forgive the bad lighting, it’s Matrix style weather today)

Wonderful collection! It show how versatile this design is, wow, every format really does look like a different design:flowers:
I have been traveling this week, but checked in today from a hotel. Oh my gosh, am I on topic!!! Samourais :cray: My most, most beloved design. This was the first cw I bought, and I have been succumbing to others. I have four (and a half, since one more is on the way). If I thought two more would suit my coloring, I would jump for them as well.
View attachment 5229851
The turquoise accents really pops against black!!:flowers:
About having duplicates,
I collect fragrances and am crashed on the design with flacons. Unfortunately I was late for the 90 and my friend sold me hers but I managed to get the 70.View attachment 5229860View attachment 5229861

Yep, I know where to find you @bylidia

:ty: dear @Karenska!

That would be amazing @MAGJES  Share if you do pretty pretty please!

:ty: It took me awhile to learn to love Animapolis. I purchased the green thinking I "should" own that design...happy now that I did!

So very pretty on you @Karenska!

Fantastic doubles @Cookiefiend! Love the Perspectives-- both are so beautiful and really different. Especially love your purple sweater look!

Yeah, you right, as we say in New Orleans. True dat, @Cordeliere!

Very fashionable @tlamdang08 -- love the slippers!

Thank you @Julide! They have come out to play at last!

Simply fabulous @Julide! I have a lonely red, but it is happy to know there is a family out there, all living together...

It is beautiful and surprising, seen flat like this. Thank you for posting it @MAGJES!

Your collection is rivaled only by your wonderful sweaters that present them so beautifully @MAGJES! That black CSGM :faint:

I am, as @Karenska would say, simply gobsmacked by all this silken beauty @Nomad! Your green PdS is stunning and your Semelles are turning me a shade of green that @Julide would not want to post...

Simply amazing! The Special Edition NOLA scarf is very high on my collex wish list @Snausages! AND I just sent my brand new-to-me RdA to Tiecrafters to have a makeup smudge removed so I will be sisters when it returns from its "treatment."

Beautiful, (partial) twin! I love the bright pink on you, @Nahreen and the CSGM is a perefct match with your cute Orans!

I am besotted with your CSGM @blydia! Sisters on the 90 and the gav is simply perfect.

Gorgeous! Cannot wait to see your new addition @Awillow! I would love to add a bright cw to my tiny PdS family...

I am in love with this black Flacons, @Tasha1-- I stalk it (but no luck yet). It looks fantastic with your tweed.
Thank you!:flowers:
I count myself lucky that I jumped on the CLF bandwagon before prices became exorbitant.

So I really had good reason not to get any more, but I got sucked in by the double-sided version. My SOTD yesterday. Worn with an H Evelyne finger ring.
View attachment 5229950
Fabulous! Perfect for this time of year!:flowers:
SOTD is a design which I wish I'd bought more than one. Flamingo Party came in so many wonderful cws that I hesitated in the most wishy washy way possible. I still feel the call of it in the resale market, the siren song beckoning, my credit card vibrating fitfully

:laugh:I thin everyones wallet are a little jittery tight now:laugh:
I am sharing two doubles in my collection. Both additions are a "special edition." I became interested in these and was fortunate to find one mis-labeled on a reseller site and the second was facilitated by a fellow TPF scarfie sister. I am delighted to have added these :happydance: . Faubourg Tropical SE for the opening of the Milan Store joins my beloved cw08. My green FT found a new loving home as it was too similar to the SE. (I tied it to hide the pink border--saving that for pink week!)

Glad to see you back!! Wonderful shawl:flowers:
And please indulge me as I just received some scarf mail when I returned last night! My black Fleurs de l'Opera has been with a lovely friend with whom I used to share a season ticket in NYC. Since possession is nine-tenths of the law, we agreed she would keep it if I found another. I did find one-- not in the original black I but in a lovely navy/pink/grey that has definitely sparked joy. So here's my new multiple minus her multiple:

It's been a very busy week and I am having my little brother over for his 60th birthday. Che passa il tempo! I have five designs in multiples: Kachinas (two GTs), Appaloosa (2 90s), Legende Kuna Peuple du Panama (a 90, a plisse and a twilly), Acte III (one 90 and one CSGM), and Cosmographia Universalis (one 90 and one CSGM). I had time today to study the tutorials posted and thought I’d use them to show a few more multiples.
I’ll have to admit that I absolutely love @blydia’s recent knot and am wondering how I survived without it before today…..
It has brought a few of my silent scarves to life.
I’m pretty excited that @Yoon daily scarf posted her recent tutorial as well. I’ve admired this knot on others and could never figure it out.….hate to admit that it’s quite simple.

I’m tardy on the replies and swoons… saving up for another mega multi quote.

I appear to suffer from multiplitis. Once upon a time I had every colorway (original and reissue) of Creole Jazz - missing in this photo is the hot pink which I did also have. I think I’m down to just one (original navy on navy).
View attachment 5229646

And I’ve had just about every colorway of Reve d’Australie 90; I’m culling them but definitely keeping the white. It is joined by the blue CSGM (also have had several colorways over time but have culled down to the blue) as well as a couple of GM moussies (haven’t decided if I’m keeping the blue/brown). @Julide what about cross format multiples? Such as the 90 and the 140cm versions?
Oooh, i love all of your multiples! Such a great way to show them all to us this way! I think that cross format multiples will be quite fun and interesting as well

I have several for this week, and they are all 2 word Titles...Is there something psychological there going on???

We'll start with my true love in the cat scarves subset. It was love at first sight for the first colorway I saw so I bought it as soon s I saw it, but then could NOT get the purple colorway out of my head. For EIGHT months...couldn't get it out of my head. Couldn't bring myself to sell the first and get the other, so I called to a boutique to find one (only time I have gone through the trouble of ordering from a boutique over the phone) and still (happily) have 2 (and still search for a larger format that would suit my coloring...)

Jaguar Quetzal. Caramel/Rose colorway. This was the first one I got.

View attachment 5225751

But then the purple one nagged me endlessly....The purple scarves were fantastic that season. Here with the same top because I was trying to decide which one to wear that day..

And the purple on in a cowboy Bova knot.

Such lovelies… and love the JQs with the animal print top! Gotta try that with mine

Thank you, @bunnycat , for hosting last week's leaping theme. And, welcome @Julide , as the host of this week's Multiples Week. I figured out that you were the Multiples Queen when you admitted to having all of the Tapis Persans. I only have three, but they will be coming out this week for sure. This week is sure to be a treat.

I continue my habit of finding a crossover scarf for Sunday that embodies both this week's theme, as well as last week's theme. My SOTD is Tigre Royal Fleuri. I'm wearing the red today, but the navy was one of my early purchases. These two scarves are my first multiples purchase from Hermes.

SOTD in red.

Jungle love rainbow 90 silk View attachment 5225908
Such a striking silk! One of my all time favs

Sorry for the messed-up quotes, everyone! If I am not losing quotes, I am apparently doubling up and somehow muddling up the format...
I have been eyeing this week with a bit of trepidation because until recently I had few multiples and the ones I had were sort of accidental (an "inherited" or gift of a scarf that was a duplicate of one I had). I guess right there is a distinction: duplicate versus multiple. My first actually chosen "multiple" was Parures des Samurois, the scarf that started my road to H Perdition. Since then I have consciously added multiples because (a) I adore the design and "need" another or (b) I bought a cw before I became a collector and have since decided I prefer something else but have not yet parted with the first (this is my Colorway Correction Program CCP). Some of these multiples are in a re-home pile but occasionally are given another chance to audition for a leading role. Sometimes, I buy a multiple because the scarf is an "outfit-maker" and I want to have another cw for a different seasonal look or day/evening etc. So that is my story so far and I am sticking to it! Here is a recent multiple from last season. I traded my blue Selle des Steppes for red/black/blue cw which is much more casual than the black/white/gold one. I wear both quite a bit. (Last tie is @blydia's amazing "rando knot").

One of the most striking borders ever, and so worthy of multiples. I also had a hard time choosing… Love the second knot with this one

Lovely intro.

wow! So many multiples! Beautiful Foxy Trini and bunnycat!

I have very few multiples. In fact only one both 90s and two 90s/CSGM. It appears to be a hang up I have for no good reason. I’ll share them now because in two days time I’m off to………..Paris! :yahoo:

Simply gorgeous… all! I adore your Oiseaux… and the Acte III shawl is a masterpiece

It seems to me that when you get a new design it signals to the universe (& internet) to put more in your path.

Exhibit A is Bolduc:
View attachment 5225972Left is older reissue, Right is newer reissue- originally purchased to frame. I enjoy having examples of odd copyrights, etc. and the oldie falls in that category. It presented itself shortly after first and I couldn’t resist having both to compare/contrast.

They are very different in color & hand (the older soul has had numerous washings and is buttery soft).

Many apologies for the endless quotes. I am still not able to make them work correctly. I have deliberated all day and what to post and have decided to start at the beginning; the one design that started my multiple collection…eLeK

I saw the design when it came out and decided I “needed” more than one, two quickly became a hunt for all. And with the help of many tPFers, my collection came together. The sentimental aspect of wonderful people that helped me is also another reason, this one will be forever my favourite.:flowers:View attachment 5226137

Another parade of beautiful examples

I have a modest collection and don't have many multiples. I do own The Three Graces in two formats, a 90 and a 45.
View attachment 5226338 View attachment 5226341

And I briefly owned two cws of Les Artisans while trying to decide between them--ultimately sent back the red.

*But* I might just have something on the way that's on theme
Love them all… The caramel Three Graces is amazing on you

ok so I don’t own any duplicates but that doesn’t mean i never bought them. in fact, this is my walk of shame. i ended up rehoming all of them because of something that bothered me in each. I am pretty ruthless about keeping my collex to only scarvea that I love every time I wear them and with these i had to tie them a certain way or they just didn’t make me feel as good as i thought.. here goes - the first is the keeper the other ones are gone

cosmo (again always first pic is the one i kept)- the brown in this scarf clashed with my wardrobe and complexion. also didn’t love the smoke corner. I adore the blue green tho

Le Carnaval de Venise shows up frequently on the resale market, and I am constantly tempted to add another colorway to my collection. So far I have only two. I love this design and can see why it remains popular.

I'm still looking for the perfect scarf for this new olive green with white stripes top. Trying out Le Carnaval de Venise with the golden yellow border and orange hem today. My other colorway has a green border and a yellow hem.

View attachment 5226534
Oooh, so luscious! Adore this CW

SOTD was Dans un Jardin Anglais. I kept looking for one, found the red cw for a very good price and shortly thereafter the blue one which I was really looking for (and then the corresponding bracelet popped up).

No CCP for those ones...

You are so lucky to own both of these spectacular CWs

I’ve had several colorways of Texas Wildlife but to keep the scarf drawer from becoming a scarf house I’ve culled down to only two.
When @turfnsurf posted different knots to highlight different parts of scarves, I played around to highlight a corner.
View attachment 5226696
And I was chuckling because a friend taught me I can wear scarves as subliminal messages. So this corner is for when I am spending time with those I wish to turn my behind to. I particularly like the sneer on the ram’s face as it makes aggressive eye contact

View attachment 5226697
Aaaah… Gorgeous! I adore the lone star in the corners… Your CWs are amazing

View attachment 5226701
All so amazing and so beautiful on you! That last FP of yours pushed me over the edge and so glad I found it! Must remind myself to tie it like this

One Appaloosa, two appaloosas... I went from none to two but only one will stay. The scarf is so fun and dramatic to wear and I wrestle with which to keep. I do love Alice Shirley but she is already extremely well represented in my collex and I don't feel enough Appaloosa love to double up...
View attachment 5226868View attachment 5226870
Appaloosa deserves multiples and these two are spectacular

Today I’m wearing Couvertures et Tenues du Jour by Jacques Eudel in the giant silk format.
View attachment 5226959

I also bought two twillies in this design, one for myself and one for my daughter.

I try not to buy different colors of the same scarf. Instead, I painstakingly pick the color that (in my opinion) best showcases the design, and best compliments my complexion. If a scarf doesn’t meet both criteria, I usually sacrifice the latter in favor of the former. For example, this scarf also came in a gorgeous soft pink colorway that was perfect for me, however, all the horses and their attire were in shades of pink. The lack of contrast and color variety in a design that’s all about the colorful outfits of the horses made me gravitate towards this purple one which truly brings out the different outfits, although the color is a bit too strong for me. I keep saying in the future I will choose whatever looks best on me, but I keep choosing what is best for the design.

What draws me to a scarf is always the design. I am in love with the older designs. My scarf collection is made up almost entirely of reissues of older designs that came out in the last 8-9 years. At the beginning of each season, I examine the reissued scarves, and if they are aesthetically pleasing to me, and if the story behind them is interesting, then I determine the color I am going to buy. In the past I have fallen for a scarf while browsing in the store, bought it and brought it home, only to return it the next day after reading about a sad element in its story.

I’m attracted to every one of Henri d’Origny’s designs, and in general, to scarves by French designers. I feel like the French are simply masterful in their story-telling through artistry. As regards themes, I would say the themes I love are the ones that have in common that old-world Hermes charm.

I really enjoy reading all of your stories, and wish I had more time to write comments. It would be so practical if there was a comment box for each post directly under the like button. The current system requires a lot of going back and forth, and one simply gives up when things are busy. A more user-friendly update would encourage greater participation.
Such a wonderful classic and amazing on you… What a spectacular CW!

Oh my heavens! Love them all! The Grand Tenues are simply gorgeous, but the star of the show is that bow knot with the Napoleons. Wowie!!!

Wonderful photos! I am also happy to hear how your collections are formed and culled, nothing like understanding how a curated scarf collection is done from many collectors points of view:flowers:

On to my next multiple. I do love this design and when it came out I was all a:panic:flutter:panic:Sadly I missed Dans un Jardin Anglais as I was busy on the hunt for this. Tapis Persan, wonderful elements of Persian carpets and drawings. I have a couple of framed book pages that remind me of this design every time I see them. Many apologies for my poor staging skills, I forgot to take the tea cloth off that I store them in:blush:View attachment 5227072
Sigh… I die again! This is one of my fav designs of all time and you own them all! I own three CWs of the giant silk and one moussie and wish I had more!

My latest multiple: Duo Cosmique. TBH, I wasn't planning on buying this design as I wasn't inspired by the early stock images. Then I saw the mod shots and decided to ask my dear SA to hold a couple of cws for me to see IRL. I ended up buying both as the vibe was completely different.

This season has been danger to my wallet. Got the Bingata twilly and then they came out with the dog ‘sticker’ so I had to have that as well. Even if I’d known the dog sticker was coming I’d probably have still gotten the regular twilly

And L’Epopee 70 in two colorways (the first with both Bingatas!)

They are marvelous! I especially love the second Epopee

I don’t typically have multiple colours in the same format because I personally find one only one or two cws speak to me. But if it’s a design I love, I will get it in other formats
Here is one favourite - Peuple du Vent - GSGM and gm moussie
One day I hope to add a 90 silk

I think it’s such a delight to own a favorite design in various formats, and Peuple de Vent is amazing in all its editions… I feel it works exceptionally well as a moussie

This post is about regret of not getting duplicates (which let’s face it, is probably a good thing knowing my history of selling em all  )
still. I love animapolis. the cw i have probably is the right one for me though the scarf is actually a tad busy for my liking, it’s another one that i reach for over again because i want to love it. but just looking at it gives me joy so i don’t think i‘ll ever part with it, but it might end up on the wall, maybe even in my daughter’s room. The duplicate I regret not getting is the green gold one. ocre creme vert or cw 09 as showcased by pegase here. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/hermes-spring-summer-19-scarves.995472/post-33125901
I‘d snatch this one up in a heart beat if i came across it in the 2nd hand mkt. I actually tried it on in the boutique back when it came out and it was between my cw and this. alas. regrets like these then cause future FOMO and overbuying don’t they :rolleyes:
oh and excuse the tired look, t‘was a rough night…

Love this on you. Will keep my eyes peeled for the Cosmo

I’m going to show an example of my ability to say no to more multiples. And I’ll be honest and say I regret it haha. I see the photo and say to myself I love it Why did I give it up! But when I bought it and tried it on, perhaps wallet guilt, I said no not necessary. I have nothing that truly ‘goes’ with it to make that great outfit and I have so many scarves already that go with the usual suspects like white black navy gray etc. If I hadn’t accumulated such a collection that needs RUTHLESS culling then I think I would have kept it!
The one I didn’t keep..

Simply amazing! One of those H marvels that deserves multiples

Originally I was afraid that this colorway would be too “red” but it turns out to be just right . Giant triangle zebra pegase.

It is spectacular!!

I couldn't just get one slim maxy twilly with Le Grand Prix du Faubourg. Would definitely like to add a 90 in that design to my collection as well.

Plumes en Fete. I have two 90s (they are just so gorgeous!) and bought an upcycling tie for my husband made from the same design as first of my Plumes en fete (the blue, green, lavender). In the last photo I placed it over the part of the scarf it was cut out from (but unfortunately had to increase the lighting in the photo for the design of the tie to be visible as well, so the colours of the scarf are quite off)

Oooh love them all! Love this post! That bright Animapolis is truly sensational and I am so happy to own it as well… The BdG en Finesse is a masterpiece… I must come up with a post of my BdGs as well! So glad you reminded me to look through mine as it is also a favorite

My scarf of the day is Tapis Persans mousseline. I have been majorly inspired to collect this design by our own @Julide . I currently have three, all purchased in NWT or excellent condition. I get quite excited when I know the next day is a Tapis Persans day. I feel so good wearing this design.

SOTD is CW09, the red. (Rouge/Turquoise/Vert Pistache)

Lastly, one where I did go wrong. A Tapis Persans FAKE. I was able to return this for a full refund. It was obvious that something was off the moment I opened the box. Normally, an Hermes scarf has me thinking - how beautiful, this is better than I was expecting. With the fake, my first reaction was - how disappointing. It looks so ordinary. All I can say is, listen to your instincts.

You are so lucky to own three moussies of this masterpiece! And, also so lucky that you detected the fake and were able to return it! Your three are amazing CWs

Sporty chic

@Snausages @Nomad @MAGJES @Cookiefiend @LKBNOLA @Croisette7 @Pirula @Julide @Agrume @bunnycat @Living.la.vida.fifi and any other likers and posters thank you for your kind and understanding comments. It’s hard out here when all the colorways can be so tempting. For now, I’ll embrace my obsession but I do think 2022 may usher in the year of culling. *insert maniacal laughter*

So I have an on theme post or a post update. I popped into the boutique in between meetings and boy did I find a strange find. Introducing my 3rd GTN in cw16. I was wearing duo cosmique when I went in, and in trying on this scarf 3 different SAs said it looked made for my sweater dress. I’ll attach an a pic of the duo I wore today, and an awkward bathroom selfie of the new GTN. Now I am a proud mom of triplets! Pardon the lighting it’s nighttime here and the end of an obscenely long work day. I have other multiples to post that I didn’t on Sunday. I’ll come back before this week is up to throw those in the pile.
Your latest GTN is amazing! Now I want to try it on! Gorgeous on you

Is it too soon -since Aug- to again share my family of Couvertures et Tenue du Jour?

I’ll risk repeating myself as this time I’ll note my three 90s are generational. I wanted examples spanning several issues which took me a few years to locate in ‘needed’ colors.
Here are the gals from youngest to oldest (L-R)

When I purchased my Ivory/blue Le Jardin de la Maharani 90 I was actually wanting hunting the colorway in the CSGM. The 90 won me over. I later added a very colorful CSGM in a fruity green!
Recently I saw this sweet rose/blue/salmon 90 on a resell site and snapped it up.

Once again… Gorgeous! I twin with you on the emerald ZP but need more in my life…It is an extraordinary design and that rose triangle is delicious. Great CW choices for the amazing Maharani as they all have such a different look and vibe!

Well today has been an amazing day!!My eyes need some rest, but before I go; here is my second half of my Tapis Persan collection, the mousselines. This is shot in a more "artistic" way.:PEvery time I see them I smile:flowers:

Aaaaah! TP moussies! What an incredible collection you have! I dream of even adding one more to my collection… I don’t know about you, but I would live in these!

I’ve owned my green Amber de Vie for a long time and never planned on owning another 90 until I saw a very captivating turquoise hem on @cookie.
Not long ago I saw one pop up on ebay at an insane low price and took a chance on the condition. I had the perfect sweater so I hit BIN.
Surprisingly she appears to have never been worn!

My last for the night is Fleurs de Indiens.
This one ties like a dream and the contrast hems are a bonus.

Amazing! Especially the first one

Originally when I started buying scarves, I vowed not to have duplicates. Then I vowed that duplicates *might* sometimes be OK if I got a "deal" on them, but no duplicates in the same format. (That vow surrendered to Jaguar Quetzal  ). Now I just have a few favorites that "don't count" because I love them so much.

I do seem to have a bit of a thing with two word scarf name duplicates.

Jungle Love....whoops....At least I kept to mostly different formats here....In fact, I believe, after a very very long dry spell of not being able to find "the right" JL for me (had a red dip dye, a cotton charm 70 before these) I finally gave in to my JL lust and decided to cover all the formats.

We have these two designs in common as being top favorites… How marvelous they are! And, thank you for inspiring me to hunt down a FP pareo!

Here is my largest duplicate Hermes scarf obsession. :-0 w an archive photo. Oh!! And one I didn’t keep if you can believe it. It lacked that Hermes dimension necessary for cost.

Oooh fabulous collection of this incredible design!

Today I am posting two duplicates I bought with all due deliberation this season. Maybe as a new collector I suffer from a bit of FOMO, but I have learned that when a design sends out that siren call it is good to pay attention! So here is Duo x Two-oh (twins with @Agrume on the first) and Grand Theatre Nouveau (twins with many on both cws). I tied 08 two ways because like Faubourg Tropical and A l'Ombre des Pivoines, I am a bit terrified of its pale beauty and trying to figure out ways to keep it in rotation and not in the box! Framing might be a really good option for this one...

I’m not completely sure why but I avoided floral/fuana silks for a long time until DuJA then this happened.
I acquired before the prices became so insane.
Now I think I adore floral designs more than any others.

Another Alice Shirley Obsession: Under the Waves
I was born at the beach and spent my summers there growing up.
It’s my place of peace.
I have 4 older brothers and all my childhood memories with them involve the sea/beach.
I was actually bitten by a Portuguese Man of War with the scar to prove it. (I never
played in the water after a storm again.)

I may not be able to get up from the fainting couch! Congrats again on collecting multiples of two of the most amazing designs of all time! I don’t own ANY CW of these and am saving your pics for reference… I would find it impossible to choose which to wear… Sigh…

La Cite Cavaliere is a design that I adore...unfortunately it appeared in the 90 before I began collecting Hermes scarves. So, when this design was in a CSGM, it was a must buy for me. I have it in a wonderful neutral. I only own one other CSGM, due to my sensitivity to cashmere, and it is a bright Plumes en Fete.

So, I was on the hunt for an all-silk 90 La Cite Cavaliere, and this blue and black version, with the yellow hem, came along in NWT condition at retail cost. Of course I snapped it up. A more colorful version of this design in the 90 remains on my wish list.

SOTD is La Cite Cavaliere, CW02, in bleu jean/noir/miel.
