My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Dear Croisette, this is a breathtaking CW!! And again jacquard!! I love the old jacquards! There is a Jacquard thread that I read from first to last page. Please post your treasures there as well, would you? ❤ I had quite a hard time finding pix...
Wait just a minute, there’s a jacquard thread? After all these years how did I not know that?!? Although probably safer that way, otherwise my wish list would be even longer...

Best New Format - Giant Triangle and GTCS. Now I acquired my first GT in Nov 2019, Kachinas in fuscia, lemon yellow, navy and periwinkle: :hbeat:
View attachment 4943515
but significantly upped the ante by purchasing three more in 2020: Kachinas in spectacular summer colors :faint:, mini BdG in vermillion and marine bleu , and the surprisingly now-esssential Encadre GTCS in chocolat and blanc with rosy hem :hbeat:.

Someday maybe I’ll add Encadre in corail, naturel with the stunning cobalt hem:

Lovely! I especially like your BdG Mini - I have put it in my cart several times!

Before I head off on a mad search for my La Comedie, I’ll post my winner for today.
Today’s Oscarf is one that Gobsmacked me.
There I was innocently scrolling through EvilBay, eating a few cookies - when BAM.
I picked myself up from the floor, looked again, and marched my fingers to H.com - where I had read some of last season’s scarves had shown up again...
And there it was, pristine and in all its glory. I have never hit Buy so fast, I think I may have given my CC a rug burn I whipped it out so fast.

Here’s my SOTD though - feeling colorful today in ELenK ❤

Ah, the Gotta Have It scarf. I enjoy seeing which scarves inspire that reaction in each of us!

Happy New Year to my scarfie friends!

During 2020 I collected a number of scarves in new condition and some have not yet been worn. One of my New Year's resolutions is to actually wear these beauties and not just store them. I'm starting out 2021 by introducing what I think is the happiest of my new scarves.

The Oscarf for the Happiest New scarf goes to L'arbre du Vent.

That definitely deserves to be aired RBH, it’s lovely.

At the start of 2018 I found myself saddened/irritated that I had unworn scarves languishing in their boxes, it seemed so wasteful after I’d gone to the trouble and expense of acquiring them. I decided to challenge myself to do something about it, posing the Q in the “how do you curate your scarf collection” thread, and enjoyed hearing how others approached this.

I still haven’t re-homed any scarves but none are new and unworn, so I feel happier with myself, and I’ve had the pleasure of wearing them...

(BTW, no criticism implied if others are happy with the situation, it just didn’t sit comfortably with me).

Very fun week seeing everyone's scarf journeys and awards for 2020. My contribution is La Folle Parade, one of my favorites. Its such happy, fun, whimsical scarf. Every time I see it or wear it I smile.
I imagine if it were a film, it would be an in the Oscar category of animated short, with the cart wonkily rolling along and the critters frollicking and and playing silly pranks on each other to a cacaphony of music.

Presenting the award is my Little Girl (yes that's her name) but since this is the first year and she's new at this, she was a bit confused as to what to do.... Hopefully she'll get the hang of it with practice! No mod shots since I'm dealing with Covoid hair (again!) and Christmas pounds. Best wishes to all for a Happy and Safe New Year!

Twins on them all Croisette. I fell hard for this design as well. I had overlooked the Orange CSGM but then I saw it on you and had to have it!

Thank you MAGJES and so happy to be twins on these beauties! Happy New Year!

Today, on this last day of 2020 (go ahead and play The Ramones "I Wanna Be Sedated" you know you want to! ) I have a special award. Mostly I made it up so I could wear my Brazil MT yesterday before the cold front came through here. :P But then I thought, "ya know? It really is a special award!"

So I looked though my Scarfnotes (yes- for realz....color coded too) to see just how many went in and out this year. Despite telling myself I was going to cool it a bit, 23 scarves still found their way IN the door either as a gift or purchase. I am grateful that 18 did go OUT the door to better pastures (mostly twillies and pocket squares but I did "cull" the moussies too and the cashmere (only by 1 tho  )

So this very special award goes to a group of scarves that have somehow managed to avoid being re-homed in one of the inevitable Bunnycat Culls. I fully admit that I can be fickle and get tired of something (sometimes quickly) and have finally accepted that is OK! But there is an awful lot of "red" (sold) in my notes from the first year in Spring 2014-15 of Scarfbuying (I'm creating a whole bunch of new verbs here....) and very little of the "dark blue" (still in the scarf drawer) from that time.

The Scarf Survivors Award goes to:

I especially love your Minuit au F and it looks great with stripes. I'll have to admit that I admire your ability to send the silks OUT the door. I try but seem to chnage my mind when I take pictures to list. I end up loving them again.

Red/blue pairings always look so good on blondes. This is the perfect colorway for you.
My Oscarf for All-Around Favorite Scarf goes to .... La Danse Des Amazones! Does anyone remember my hemming and hawing about whether I would send her back? What was I thinking? Came to my senses fortunately (scarf-mergency happy resolution, thanks guys!). The rich, soft colors and fine details make me feel cozy and comforted, yet sophisticated. The Amazones make me feel like a warrior princess - usually they are hidden but that's ok, I know they are there which is the important thing! The darling owl is emblematic of my "knowledge work" profession. And the variety of motifs, patterns, and little pops of stronger color provide continual variety. Happy New Year all!

Wonderful job of pairing this colorway brilliantly! I love it with the gray!. All the colors just pop.
