My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Hahaha! Great interpretation... Such a magnificent shawl... and fabulous colors for Christmas

Thank you, Cookie!

What a striking neutral, Agrume, and is perfect with your gray (taupe?) turtleneck sweater. May I please ask what is the design? I’m not readily identifying it.
thank you, Karenska! Of course, it is “De passage à Moscou”.

Moma, @Croisette7 , @Living.la.vida.fifi and others who own this beautiful scarf, all the cws are stunning but the cws I am most taken with are these. Good luck my acquiring one; resale prices are through the roof :crybaby:.
love the red one, but I will not try to find one...

I was away for a bit and missed seeing so many lovelies! I'm enjoying playing catchup.
One more purple. From the archives - Le Jardin de la Maharani CSGM.

20 Dec 2020: Yuletide Spirit... Break out your festive scarves!

Happy Fourth Sunday of Advent, (also known as the Sunday before Christmas) my dear SOTD friends!

Many of us have been enjoying these glorious days of Advent and also looking forward to the Christmas festivities. And, yet others celebrate Hanukkah, Rohatsu, Kwanzaa or Yule... Of course, for our little community, that always means donning our silks of the season. I know I’ve been wearing mine, along with my holiday brooches, on repeat for the past three weeks.

Not only do I love wearing my holiday-themed scarves during these festive days, but also my winter-themed designs, as well as those scarves in colorways appropriate for the season, no matter the theme... and, those silks that are just plain festive...

We are coming to the end of a strange and challenging year, yet SOTD has remained a bright spot of solace and fellowship throughout. This week, let us relax, enjoy each other’s company and find joy in our beloved Silks of the Season and other Festive Scarves.

I shall begin with probably the most iconic of all of Hermès’ Christmas designs: Noël au Faubourg 24. I own this Grail in two CWs, and will begin with my pink, which is perfect to wear during Advent, since pink and purple are the traditional colors of the season. Last Sunday, the pink candle of the Advent wreath was lit, and tonight we light yet another purple candle. This is the scarf I will wear to our church services this evening.

I follow with a winter-themed beauty: Joies d’Hiver, which is another quintessential Hermès winter and holiday classic.

And, even though this design is neither Christmasy nor precisely winter-themed, I relate its colors and vibe with the holidays... It must be that vibrant red background; and those golden trumpets, lyres and pipes; and the Commedia dell’Arte figures that evoke a toyland theme; and the old world village scene. Somehow I associate it with Christmas and love to wear it at this time of year.

And, also for the fun of it, I am also going to show a few of my Christmas jewelry this week and encourage everyone to do the same. So, here is one of my huge Larry Vrba bejeweled Christmas tree brooches... These showstopping pins are among my favorite Christmas accessories, along with my Hermès scarves, of course!

So many furry darlings this week inspired me to show this festive Lea Stein cutie... And, on that subject, our darling animal children always steal the show around here, so perhaps we will see a few more... Methinks I will have my three furry children make an appearance as well...

I am looking forward to spending this special week with all of my dear SOTD friends and know we will spread the joy of all of our festive scarves. Let us share the glad tidings and enjoy the silken cheer.
The richness of your Christmas silks is a feast for my eyes! Such a festive intro and I adore your magnificent collection.
I'm gonna have to stretch a little this week for "festive". I tend to go for modern and casual designs so I think a lot of the scarves I classify as "festive" tend to be more traditional and formal.

And Amours fits both of those categories - traditional and "formal" (for me) and one of the few I have left in that kind of category. Consequently, it also does feel a little more festive than some of my others with all the golden bells and cheeky cherubs. (Yes- I just re-dyed my hair and it it very light right now! :woot: )

I love this sweet colorway. Perfect with your lighter hair!
SOTD Le Monde du Polo: one of my go-to Xmas silks. I tied it too quickly & should’ve shown more of the lively green...View attachment 4935396
