My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

beautiful! Hadn’t seen this before.

such wonderful icy colors.

Oh darn! I am just too slow to check this thread! I knew this one!

also loved your gingko scarf. we have a big ginkgo in front of our house. It has just started dropping its leaves. My favorite time is when we have a solid yellow carpet of the leaves...
I have never been able to decide on a CW for me of this scarf..View attachment 4927389View attachment 4927393
oh that is a beautiful tree! I would love that carpet of gingko leaves too - so pretty.
I've been looking at some of the dark color ways, but haven't decided yet. The white and gold of mine is lovely though.

thank you for this research, turfnsurf!

lovely, Karenska!

thank you so much, cookie! :flowers: DH loves those fainting symbols.

thank you for posting Daimyo, cookie! Re mystery scarf, I did not have the slightest idea.

thank you, AnnaE!

Love those ginkgo photographs, scarf1, thank you for posting!
hahaha - I love those fainting symbols too - I also like that if you quote them, and then add your own, they all 'faint' at the same time!
Thank you for your kind words about Diamyo!

Thank. You both! We do love our ginko! And it drops all of the leaves during 1-2 weeks, so easier cleanup than many deciduous species.

I just went back and looked at the close up of the bird.
I sat there thinking 'Just how many screens did it take to make this scarf?!? There are so many colors just in that photo!'
:faint:
This CW is from the original release, and yes I remember reading that this design used a large number of screens. Sadly, most of the recent releases don’t use many.

D'aww - thank you RBH - that's the easiest knot ever!
(wearing it myself today :giggle:)

As for your Mystery Scarf of the Day, I think it's a Clerc - but not sure which one!
Off to search! :search:

It is a fantastic knot. Shows a lot of the scarf, and leaves my neck free for a necklace.

My SOTD is a Clerc. There are lots of pigeons in the design.

Thank you. I would never have figured out the meaning of the concentric circles either. Now, I'm thinking I need to purchase a reproduction of that Celarius drawing.

Thank you for the kind words, Willow.

In keeping with my flight theme this week, as well as adding some holiday themed colors, my mystery SOTD shows this pigeon getting a sip of water from a bucket. Where is this bird?

Definitely “need” that! I was too late to name Les Boxes, but  it & that birdie sneaking a drink.

L ´hiver esp.with the red border is precious!
Thanks- I always admire the blue (and green too)!

Yes! I bet that’s the inspiration sculpture... now what scarf does it appear on, hmmmm? :graucho:

@AnnaE & @Cookiefiend - Always happy to share whatever kernel of knowledge I glean
