My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

My attempt at Parisian look, if not a themed carré. The pattern is Mediterrane, at least in the vicinity.:smartass:

I love the design of Mediterrane as it is both quirky and classic at the same time. Well, stripes are classic aren't they?

You certainly know what you are wearing, but I would cast my vote that the hem is pink rather than red. Blame this on camera, but also starting to think we all see color very differently...as in "do you see this dress as blue or gold?"

All those L'Ivresse de L'Infini are driving me :cray: I am planning a midnight escape by sampan from Ban Island

I've mentioned before that cute is my kryptonite and H has so many cute items which appeal to me. Their website has tiny cute illustrations by Alice Charbin who illustrates children's books when she is not amusing visitors to h.com. Her whimsical drawings also appear on H perfume boxes and bottles, and a selection of the drawings was compiled into a book entitled Heavenly Days.

I would love to see Charbin's drawings on a scarf one day. Perhaps a special twilly?

A lovely little equine darling, Crazy Poney, has appeared on several men's ties and men's RTW. I almost bought a tie and a shirt which I didn't need  just because I fell in love with this frisky pony. Fortunately, Mr Poney also made an appearance on a pocket scarf which is much more useful for me. I have no idea who is the designer but, like Alice Charbin, he or she has captured the H spirit of fun and whimsy.

One last agent of cuteness is Jean Jacques Sempe who designed the year 2000 scarf. I resisted buying this for a long time because it is a dauntingly huge expanse of creamy silk with one tiny motif and an orange hem. It was a war of attrition and I lost the battle  Wearing it here for my SOTD and trying to make the most of the motif and hem.

The original Sempe drawing featured the little boy Le Petit Nicolas and his toy horse on a wide expanse of beach. H used the image in their porcelain ware. I read up on Sempe, and my interest was piqued when I found out that his co-creator for the Nicolas children's books is René Goscinny, co-author of my favourite French comic Asterix  The little toy horse also appears on the baby range... and I am so so doomed :P

cute is my kryptonite

You have the most interesting ideas. Thanks for sharing them here. This post makes me much more deeply appreciate the cute aspect of Hermes. And it makes me ask, do I have a kryptonite when it comes to designs?

A few more that (mostly) fit this week.

I believe Daisuke Nomura started with Hermes with a win in a tie designing competition through H. His (2009??) win for the tie design was called Party Time and certainly the inspiration for C'est la Fete. (IIRC the design placement was not first place but more like 5th ???, and so it is intriguing that morphed in to one of the most sought after designs in recent history....)

And C'est La Fete (with Della Cavalleria t-shirt. )

And did we hear this week that Jan Bajtlik did some windows for H also? Cosmographia- always a winner!

And I have no idea if this is on theme, but surely with LeDoux's long association with H, he wore more than one hat at H as well??? With Promenades de Paris

Finishing up the Wearing Two Hats week with Kermit Oliver's Kachinas. This American artist not only designed Hermes scarves, he worked for most of his life as a US Postal mail sorter. Many thanks to all postal workers, especially during these currently difficult times.

Playing around with pattern on pattern here. I think the colors are fine, but I probably need a greater difference in pattern and scale. I can see why solid colored tops work well.

❤️ Too many beautiful scarves, but.. I love your PdP!
Today I wore La Serpentine de Pierre Charpin, and posted it in the wrong thread LOL. He designs furniture and cool objects. I think this is his only scarf for H. View attachment 4922395
This scarf slays me.. another example of H Magic. ❤️❤️❤️
