Russia exceeded all my expectations. I was truly blown away everywhere. And I went prepared with a couple of themed scarves which were unfurled and waved on site
First of all, Cavaliers d’Or at the Hermitage. This design was issued in 1975 as a collaboration with The Met on the occasion of their exhibition of Scythian gold treasures on loan from The Hermitage. The pectoral, torques, comb, fibulas, brooches and golden belt pictured on the scarf were all part of the exhibition. The Met also issued reproduction jewelry of which I purchased every single one. Pity at the time I was not interested in silk scarves, but thankfully found a couple not too long ago that I couldn’t pass up.
So, here I am wearing it on the grand staircase and displaying it as well. Notice that the Hermitage was almost empty as we had the great fortune of visiting on a day closed to the general public.

And, here I wear my Zabavushka at the Catherine Palace in Pushkin. I unfurled it as well, of course.

And, not thematically related, but matching my jacket: Sangles en Zig Zag on a Neva River boat cruise with the Winter Palace/Hermitage in the background

So pretty and airy and perfect for summer!Too hot for a silk scarf perfect for a chiffon to shine. My only chiffon so far Della Cavalleria 140.
Love this design... always so fresh!
And it’s a beauty!Too hot for a silk scarf perfect for a chiffon to shine. My only chiffon so far Della Cavalleria 140.
So bright and cheerful!
Loving all your travel pix!Wore my Sieste au Paradis in Stockholm. Here I am standing on Mårten Trotzigs Gränd street which measures 35 inches at one point, making it one of the five narrowest streets in Europe.
My last stop was Copenhagen, but it was so cold and rainy that I wore a non-H woolen shawl. I also purchased a delightful silk scarf with a Tivoli Gardens scarf theme there.

A great find for your Kawa Ora, fifi!Oh, I forgot to post my Kawa Ora in the medieval Old Town of Tallinn, Estonia. I started off securing it with my Bolduc scarf ring, but found this fabulous peannular brooch at a shop that featured reproductions of Estonian historical pieces. The motifs of the brooch echoed some of the design elements in the scarf design, although they are from such different cultures. I though they were a great pairing.
