Bunnycat, we are fraternal twins with Cosmos :giggle:, as I have the same cw, except it’s plissed (I posted it yesterday). The carre is so pretty on you. Seeing your Cosmos carre and Croisette 7’s Belles du Mexique carres, of which I also have a plisse in a red cw, makes it clear to me that had I the choice of carre or plisse in these designs, I’d have had some serious decision-making to do! Because I love plisses and the casual way they can be worn, but the design often is submerged in the pleats. The carre, OTOH, can often look more dressy but one gets to revel in the beauty of the design details. Not regretting my plisses at all, however .

Hello twin!

It also ties nicely as a casual tie too in the 90:

very casual look, linen shirt and CS shawl
Awooo t
Very nice!

Oh, how lovely! The last, neutral CW shows off the detail of the pretty flowers in their hair so well!
Oh, Fizzy! Now that gives me yet another criterion to ponder when wishy-washying on this design

You need the purple one, I think!
Methinks you are right ;)

Actually, I like this scarf on you. The pinky-red dotted balls show up nicely against the brown. I can't see the whole of you, your complexion, but the little I can see indicates to me that there is not a clash between you and the scarf. The dotted balls are whimsical, it's definitely a nice scarf. Try it with white. (that's just a guess but it might relegate the brown to the background).
There's no clash. I don't turn into a zombie. This mid-tone brown just makes both me and the silk look meh. Perhaps I'll try it with a red collared shirt to pick up the red accents and distance it from my face. The few brown vintage scarves I bought - now those I really need to rehome because that shade of brown is really not me. I should do a spread of the varying browns I have.

As I have no scarves with dancers, I am off topic with my SOTD, new to me Le Jardin de la Maharani (maybe the animals on the border are doing a line dance?).

It plays so nicely with the color & stripes of that top

Thank you for your kind comments. I see that you like lifelike designs too.
Yes! I am a total sucker for illustrated horses & adorable critters (I can use that word since I live in the South) :giggle:

One day you will find the perfect CW, xincinsin.

Thank you, dear bunnycat!

Many thanks, Karenska!

Thank you kindly turfnsurf! How lovely is your QS with your bunny pendant!
I appreciate you noticing that little detail- I thought the fox needed a snowhare for company :hugs:

I appreciate the kindnesses, all! :P

I'm going East today for dancing :giggle:
When I was an itty-bitty girl, I worked in a souvenir shop. Amongst the goods on sale were a series of silk paintings showing dancers from China's minority tribes. While packing house for my mum's move earlier in June, I came across the two I purchased all those years ago.

This dancer from the Yi tribe wears a pleated skirt. This tribe hails from the same general vicinity as the Miao tribe, so I'm not surprised that their skirts look an awful lot like the one in Cents Plis de Miao.

The other painting is of a dancer from the Tibetan tribe. Do you notice those flowing sleeves? There is a whole school of Chinese dance technique based on (literally translated) "water sleeves". As the dancer twirls, the flowing fine fabric will ripple like water. You can see the similar long sleeves in the two dancers in Galop Volant.

Dancing needs music. I'm sure these musical apsaras in Nikko are swaying along with the tunes from their lute and dizi.

And geishas of course undergo training in all the fine arts, including dance. Yes! I bought a grail this year! :sos:
