SAs prefer to sell certain items more than others?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

I think SA's in the US do get some sort of commission on most items. I thought I read somewhere else on TPF that they dont get commission on B's and K's but on everything else they do. Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe in the US, SAs get commission on everything but B & K. if you look at your receipt, you will notice that all non B or K purchase has the sales associate's name attached. for B and K, commission goes into a pool and split amongst everyone (read that somewhere here).

besides commission, there is also a store/team target which, if met, results in a bonus. (I was told this).

LOL we posted at the same time!!

In Canada as well, SAs will received comission on anything other than B or K. However I heard RTW does have higher % on comission then leather goods. Please correct me if it's wrong.

I believe sa are always more favorable to sell non-leather goods such as scarves, rtw, shoes, blankets etc. At least, my sa always asks me to buy scarves, but i am just not a scarve-person.

From my understanding from my SAs from stores in europe, us and asia, b & k don't have commission, and different boutique's manager can determine the commission structure. whether to be based on shared or individual commission. rtw & jewellery brings in more commission.
