I'd like to add Madison to the list of those that will do phone orders...

Those that absolutely refuse to do phone orders (in my experience anyway) are:
Bal Harbour
Palm Beach

Thanks carlinha for adding the 'do not take orders' list !! :D

I'll add a couple more stores:

Bal Harbour
Palm Beach
Las Vegas - Bellagio, Encore and Crystals Center
Charlotte
Boston
San Francisco

I know this thread is a little older but it is a useful reference. In my experience hunting for a belt the following stores will not take a credit card over the phone, and they certainly won't ship it:

Dallas (I had high hopes since it was in the phone order list - but apparently not for leather goods).

Vienna VA/Tyson's Corner - no credit cards/no ship.

Re Madison - the minute I asked about a belt (and it was not even the classic 32mm Constance belt) the SA went off on a little spiel which included saying they would not even give information about their belts over the phone.

I guess if you have a preexisting relationship with these stores, YMMV.

I was at the Wall Street store today when I overheard an SA on the phone saying they cannot discuss belt kits (not even whether they have it in store or not) over the phone. Maybe the rule applies to leather goods and not scarves?

Only leather goods. Silk products can be transferred between stores for sure.

I was at the Short Hills, NJ store and they said they don't have access to other store's inventories and that they can't order stuff in so I had to call around to find the bag I was interested in. Is that actually true?

I am surprised that any SA would tell someone that. H stores definitely have access to other stores inventory though it is totally up to that store if they want to transfer the item. I haven't had any luck with Short Hills on anything. I've found the Riverside and King of Prussia stores to be great! Wish you much luck with finding your next H purchase.

SA from short hills always tell me they don't have the item that I wanted. So I'm going to visit KOP at end of May :)
