SAs no longer want to transfer bags ??

I recently bought and paid for a scarf from my regular store by phone, and my SA held off shipping it to me for a few weeks, since I was hoping some other items on my wish list would come in. She later told me that even though it was paid for, because it had not been shipped out, it still showed as being "on hold" in their computer system; and since it was one of the only ones left in the country, she was getting calls every day from other stores requesting to transfer that scarf. So that could complicate things when SAs are doing searches for things. But for sure, stores are much less willing to give up items right now according to my SA, and some stores don't even try to hide that fact by pretending the item is on hold. I can't say that I'm surprised, especially with the very low inventory on popular items and SAs complaining that they have nothing to sell to customers other than canvas bags and RTW. But hopefully this is just a temporary thing, along with the inventory situation.

I hope your Tosca Picotin comes in soon, Chkpfbeliever!

My SA had been looking for a Tosca MM Pictoin for me and Charlotte store has only one in the whole country. She was told once that it was on hold and then a few days later that the customer would pick up the next day. The bag was still in the store and in the computer system. When I called the store, they told me flat out that they can't sell it to me via phone. It doesn't make sense unless their bag inventory is so bad that they need something to sit on the display case.

That is so frustrating! Good luck getting your Tosca Picotin - I had pretty much given up hope on my Evelyne and then out of the blue I got the call. I hope you have a similar experience! :hugs:

Thanks Ouija board !! Your scenario may be similar to that in Charlotte and at least one happy customer goes home with that Picotin. I smell a reveal from you soon ??

Wow!! I never knew this!! I am so guilty of this habit. I purchase things and have the store hold them until I am sick of waiting for them!:pI have two bags at my store right now! I wonder if they are still showing up in the system? Maybe I should have them send things immediately?

Posted it on another thread but thought someone here would like to know the stores that will still take out of state phone orders:

Wall Street
Florida Naples
Houston
Dallas
Seattle

Feel free to add to the list. Frankly, as a customer paying premium prices for H products, we shouldn't be doing all the phone calls but it seems that that is the way if you want to buy H now.

This is good to know chkpf!

I'd like to add Madison to the list of those that will do phone orders...

Those that absolutely refuse to do phone orders (in my experience anyway) are:
Bal Harbour
Palm Beach

You are lucky stores in the UK won't hold things if you have paid for them as Hermes policy in the UK is not to hold goods that have been paid for as their insurance no longer covers them

This thread has brought to my attention many good points! Thank you Ms Birkin. I may have to check with my store.:flowers:

You know, I kept asking my SA if she wanted to go ahead and ship the scarf so that stores wouldn't be bugging her, and she seemed perfectly happy to keep holding the scarf. Of course, I ended up having her send it this week since I'm just an impatient little H shopper, and since I hate paying $25 shipping for just one little scarf...a spur of the moment purchase Chain d'ancre bracelet jumped in the box as well  Just watch, something that IS actually on my wishlist will show up on Monday, and I'll have to pay another shipping fee :D

OB, this is the story of my life. It is a running joke with my SA that once I pull the trigger and ask her to ship an item, another item on my wish list will arrive at the boutique. ALWAYS!

Its hermes law!!

Yep! But if it gets my 4 year old special order Kelly to finally show up on this side of the Atlantic, then I'll happily pay the extra shipping. I'm not holding my breath...

Sorry I have taken this thread off topic! Atlanta is a store that definitely won't do phone orders unless you have bought from them and have filled out a form authorizing them to use your credit card by phone.
