Sapphire/diamond bracelet - Should I?

Looks very classic and deco to me, I like it. I would get sapphires or rubies. Are they genuine -- I'm sure they are but there are so many synthentics being sold lately! I wouldn't care about heat treatment - other treatments I'm not crazy about though. If they are only heat treated that is pretty standard. I wouldn't say any jewelry is an investment - unless you're buying at auction or maybe certain vintage pieces so buy what you love and I agree emeralds are too fragile - - I have a lovely ring with a not-so-lovely chip!

I think so. It's a lot cheaper compared to a similar one sold by Christies.

I'm not sure about that but they're so so tiny, they're not certified.

I seen bracelets that look similar to this many times at Chrisites & Sotheby's. However they are much bigger stones & the sapphires/diamonds are top quality/untreated. They're probably 20 ctw & bigger.
A very small fraction of jewelry qualifies to be sold at C or S.

Did the jeweler use that as a comparison when showing you this bracelet?
It concerns me if he did. Its rather odd that one would talk about this bracelet & what is sold at auction. I sure hope he's not selling this to you & you thinking you could sell this at auction if you tire of it. If he did, I wouldn't do business with him.

Thanks for bringing this up. Actually, I've been monitoring Christies for Art Deco pieces, so I remembered seeing similar bracelets (also in onyx) at recent auctions. It wasn't my jeweller who brought this up. I've been shopping with him for over 10 years and I trust him completely. If I tire of this bracelet, I'll just sell it back to him :p

Oh yes, they're genuine all right. I've been buying diamonds from my jeweller for quite a while. He's been in business for almost 40 years and I will only shop with him. Whether the sapphires are heat treated or not, I don't really mind either. Anyway this isn't a big investment piece, it's relatively affordable, and I'm planning to use shopping vouchers to pay off most of it!

In all honesty the one on top is the better choice....

Personally I think some people are trying to sway you based on preferred colour or what they have always worn...... not good ideas to go by.

your heart knows the right answer...... listen to her!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just make sure you get quality!

Thanks for your honest opinion! Rubies, emeralds, sapphires, everyone has their own preferences, but me, I like them all!! Big problem when it comes to decision making.

Beautiful! Do you wear them together? I'm wondering if the sapphire/diamond bracelet will look nice if layered with a tennis bracelet, which I'm also getting.

I usually do stack bracelets although I have never stacked these two. I wear the diamond and sapphire on my left wrist with my watch a lot. And I have a blue themed Pandora bracelet that I wear it with also.

A good honest jeweler is a great source to buy from.
Just wanted to make sure you weren't being conned.

We had a good one till the downturn in the economy. Then they obviously thought we should make up the difference in what they lost in business vs what we pay. Forget that.
