argh this is awful I feel so bad for you. Whenever I go in store they request me to sanitise my hands and I always feel like its going to go on my bag/scarf and as its alcohol based I am always wary of this type of bleaching damage! The sanitiser in my local store is automatic and the amount it squeezes out in one pump is a lot!

Yes. I've been seeing this happen since the beginning of Covid. Sanitizer has damaged many bags due to the mini bottles hanging on the outside as a "charm" type of thing. They leak so easily. Sorry this happened to your PM!
I don't know if it will work on vachetta, but my son got hand sanitizer on his slim DG wallet. It had a white stain. A good scrub with Dawn dish soap got it out. It's squeaky clean
