And so since you spend 24/7 on the site you'd know correct? Smdh...
Interesting that you're quick to dispute without providing any info for others, never mind me, since the question was asked by someone else (TOO!

I don't know. I don't work for the company or at the stores. A member asked a question that I had asked but didn't get an answer to. So instead of waiting for someone to reply I called a store. I shared that I called the store and what I was told. I take the info given to me as that. Info. Not here to debate or authenticated what the sales person told me. As shoppers we all know that it's not uncommon to hear different things. Especially when info comes from multiple people, multiple stores and from of multiple states. If the company indeed doesn't announce sales on the website then that's okay. I didn't plan on leaving a tab open to check every hour on the hour.

And so neither of you have to wonder, my reply is terribly filled with angst and frustration at what comes off as need to call someone out for being wrong. I'm sure I'll be wrong and have jumped to conclusions (not really waiting for replies though as this is intended to be my one and only which is why I multi-quoted) but it sure doesn't feel that way! Katstoy, I can appreciate your inquiry, however it was AFTERWARDS. Just so you both know, it is okay to inquire before being so abrupt to correct or challenge someone. I would have been more than happy to explain that I don't have a SA and that my call was random. Good thing I don't care enough about whether there's a website announcement or not!

Have a wonderful week!
Mamadrama - I don't think chestnutty or katstoy were trying to be abrupt or challenge you. Chestnutty is a long time contributor in the Hermes threads and knows quite a lot about Hermes. She just wanted to correct the info you were given because she didn't want other readers to think there would be an announcement on the website before the next sale. We are a peaceful helpful group here on the H threads. It's a shame you were given misinformation by a H SA. But there is no need for such an aggressive tone in response to those that just wanted to make sure accurate info is disseminated.

I think you might be taking things a lot too seriously. People don't answer because they don't know, and answering would only clutter the thread with out of topic info as this is the Bh sale thread after all...

A quick search would have let you know if there has or there has not been a sale at Chicago before, and I'm sure they if there is a Chicago sale in the near future, a quick phone call to the Chicago store would have answered your question.

+1 to both posts.

Mamadrama, I was taken aback by the tone in your posts - I read both chestnutty and kaystoy's replies as being informative and definitely not combative. I'm sorry you felt differently but as MYH said, we're a helpful bunch. We like to see our fellow tpf-er get their H fix, and both ladies were offering what they knew to the thread.

Sorry did not see this until now!! Hope you went and found some good items :) The shoe selection on Friday was very nice, and they still had plenty of bracelets, just limited colors (blues, dark brown, yellow). Good luck!!

Thanks! Went last day and score cashmere/scarf and clic clac, didn't see any shoes that I really like, first day stocks was better. But I'm happy with all my purchase I will post them later.

First of all, Thanks to all for posting your finds and Intel! I thought it was a great sale, especially for my first. I didn't go back yesterday - I was good after all. But the day before, I couldn't resist the jewel tones on this little goodie:

Sorry, mama13drama99, this was my first sale and I had no clue if they'll do it again next year. I figured if anyone knew, they'd answer, but thank you for calling the store - it gives me hope that this will be a regular thing! According to some other women in line, the last sale was a few years ago.

I was really surprised at how knowledgable the scarf salespeople were, even though I knew they were temporary help. Jewelry SAs were not quite as knowledgeable, though they did they best to serve the insatiable crowd.

Me, too!!

So cute!!

I went the first day with my DH, got in line super early I was 10th in line. I thought there was going to be a crazy line like New York, I read that the New York line was super long and some people cut in line. 10am sharp the doors opened, and they gave us white shopping bags when we came in. Right when you come in there were tables full of scarfs, twillys, maxi twillys, scarf rings and cashmere 140. After that you have several rows of clothes racks. Then there was a separate room with the enamels. but there was a separate line to go inside, they only let 5 to 6 people inside the room at a time. Then to the right of that room they had all the Shoes and checkout registers. [emoji7].. I like that they had some clic clac, that's actually all I was really looking for at the sale. And then I was happy to find some cashmere 140, I really don't wear scarfs but it's @mininana fault for showing me how to play with the scarfs, so now I'm going to start to wear scarfs. I'm so happy with all my shoes, but I'm still wondering until now if I should have went to the shoes area first and pick, because DH picked all the shoes for me, and got then got in line with me for the clic clacs. But DH did a good job picking all the shoes for me. :) but I wish I had gotten 2 more pairs. For the clic clac I wish they had more colors. They didn't have any home stuff.. I also went the last day with my son, that's why I was able to get lots of clic clacs because I went twice. My original plan was to go everyday. Hehehe but my DH would kill me, he has been saying that I'm crazy for going twice lol Here is my sale haul. Thank you for the suggestion, but my initial question wasn't specific to the Chicago store. Again, I was told years ago that there were sales at several stores, including Chicago. Ironically, I called the store today and was told the same thing (re: past sales from years ago) by a different person.

+1 to both posts.

I'm sorry you felt differently but as MYH said, we're a helpful bunch. We like to see our fellow tpf-er get their H fix, and both ladies were offering what they knew to the thread.

Thank you all for the feedback. Everyone has their perception. Just as my tone has been taken as aggressive and my post interpreted as me taking the replies I responded to too seriously, I found the post to the info I shared to be abrupt and almost scolding. The first one more so than the second one. Doesn't make me right per se, but do understand that it works both ways. And while each of you saw things differently, please accept that I did as well. I think it's safe to say that everyone knows that it's not always what is said but how it is said, and in the case of an online forum, how it comes across. That absolutely applies to myself as well. I would imagine that both ladies' intentions were to be helpful and to provide accurate info. Perhaps a quick reply or even a PM such as, "Are you sure about that? Because from my experience (or based on my knowledge..." could have removed the tone that I interpreted. To clarify, my tone wasn't aggressive. It included, as I stated, angst and frustration. But, I should have taken my own recommendation and sent two PMs instead of responding publicly.

@Katstoy, thank you for responding the way you did today. Things could have escalated. But you took, what appear to me as, the high road. With time away from here today, and no longer being frustrated, I can see how I should have replied differently and/or through PM. Please accept my apology.
