Hi ladies! Do you know if opening an MPA account must be done in person at a store or can it be done over the phone? I live nearly 4 hours from a saks store and it would be very difficult to get to a store. Also, do you know if there are eligibility requirements about opening an MPA account? TIA!
I signed up for it this Monday. You just need your saks card account and it asks you for your income. You have to go in store to do.

they didn't really say. I think maybe the more income you make and better credit score you have the larger your map limit is?
1) i don't quite understand what pre-sale is. i have an MPA account and my SA rang up my items on pre-sale yesterday. does that mean i don't get the double points because i didn't wait until the 19th?
2) do you get free interest for one year for every purchase over $1000 on the MPA account, or is it only for the first purchase on the account?

Presale means that they are ringing it up for an upcoming event. If you look at your receipts, they say the 19th. It is basically a paid hold.
The interest is 12 months on any transaction over $1000 in the store, including leased departments. These come around every so often and are good times to use your MPA.
It is based on credit worthy ness (credit score, income, whatever else). You are opening another line of credit, so it is just like a credit card.
I'm not sure if they run another check, but it would make since. Your score might have changed. But they might just base it off your existing account/credit worthiness.

Yes they do. I know this because I have credit secure from Amex and am sent notifications when my credit is pulled, accounts open etc.
