If you already have many diamonds it’s best to skip them on your watch otherwise it’s diamond overkill and begins to look like a wannabe.

As a wedding present my darling fiance wants to buy me a watch. I am set on a Rolex Midsize Datejust with a jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel in SS. I am also pretty sure I want a black dial... but I am torn on whether to get a roman numeral dial or diamond markers for the bezel? This is going to be my forever watch so the additonal cost, while a consideration, is not the determining factor. I plan to wear it every day. As a reference, I typically wear a lot of jewelry on a daily basis my almost 3 ct. e ring, my wedding band is a 4.5ct. eternity band, diamond studs, diamond solitate necklace, tennis bracelet etc. So a diamond bezel wouldn't be too "dressy" for me. But I do like the look of the roman numerals. Any thoughts? And pictures would be VERY welcome! Thank you!!!
I realise this is a super old thread, but I am wondering if this rolex is the 26mm version or 28mm? Thanks 🙏I am not a fan of the diamond markers, I love the Roman numerals. I think a diamond bezel can look nice for a dressy watch, but the diamond markers just don’t make sense to me. They are too small to really be show-y, and I just like watches with actual numerals on them.
I have the lady date just with fluted bezel, pink MOP face with Roman numerals. I find it is the perfect every day watch that can be both casual and dressy depending on the outfit.View attachment 3993565
